‘Disgraceful’: White House spokesman rips CNN and MSNBC for cutting away from coronavirus briefing

By Washington Examiner, March 24, 2020:

A White House spokesman slammed CNN and MSNBC for tuning away from a press briefing providing updates on the coronavirus pandemic.

Deputy White House press secretary Judd Deere ripped the networks on Monday night for cutting away from the task force’s briefing, thanking Fox News for covering nearly the entire event after the network only stopped its coverage toward the end of the news conference.

“Pretty disgraceful that @CNN and @MSNBC have both cut away from this @WhiteHouse briefing with @realDonaldTrump and @Mike_Pence during a global pandemic. Thank you to @FoxNews for keeping Americans informed. #COVID19,” said Deere.

The move from the networks came after MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow made the suggestion last week, arguing that the briefings serve as an opportunity for President Trump to spread “misinformation” that will “cost lives.”

Spokespeople for both CNN and MSNBC responded to Deere’s tweet, with a CNN representative telling the Hill, “If the White House wants to ask for time on the network, they should make an official request. Otherwise, we will make our own editorial decisions.” According to the MSNBC representative, the network tuned away “because the information no longer appeared to be valuable to the important ongoing discussion around public health.”

COVID-19 cases have appeared on every continent except Antarctica. Nearly 372,500 people have tested positive for the coronavirus around the world, and at least 16,000 have died from it. In the United States, more than 41,700 people have the coronavirus, leading to at least 573 deaths.

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a global pandemic nearly two weeks ago. More than 100,000 people worldwide have recovered from the illness. During the Monday briefing, the president indicated a desire to reopen the economy despite the climbing death toll.

This is an out right WAR. They can’t have Trump saying one thing, while they LIE about what he said. So they don’t cover him. They have to keep their base ANGRY an IGNORANT.

Now if Trump would have a press conference that he, himself, cured cancer, all flu, and the common cold, the media would cut away.

If Hillary or Obama tries to cut him down, its worth cutting into the news feed and having commentators rail on for a few hours.

This of course, comes from Maddow, who has done NOTHING BUT spread misinformation on President Trump since before he was elected……
