California officials announced a complete lockdown of the Bay Area, including San Francisco, that requires people to stay home except for essential needs, and the governor of Ohio is recommending postponing the state’s primary elections originally scheduled for Tuesday. New York, Los Angeles and Washington state have all announced public buildings will be shut temporarily.
Confirmed cases 4,000, number of deaths 85 (largely the elderly).

Coronavirus: San Fran Shutting Down for 3 Weeks … 24-Hr Curfew Starts Tonight

San Francisco is going the way of Italy with its coronavirus safety measures — the Mayor’s instituting around-the-clock curfew, banning almost everyone from leaving their homes.
Mayor London Breed announced what she calls a “defining moment” in U.S. response to the pandemic. Beginning at 12 AM, all residents within the city can only leave home for doctor’s appointments or runs to the grocery store.
It’s the strictest new policy enacted in the nation, and matches the current rules in Italy … which has been the 2nd hardest-hit country in the world.
The Mayor says the rule will remain in effect for at least the next 3 weeks.
In addition, to the city shut down, 6 Bay Area counties are telling residents to “shelter in place.” That means … unless your work falls under the list of “essential businesses,” you’ve been ordered to stay home.
That list of essential businesses includes health care operations, grocery stores, shelters, media outlets, gas stations and banks. Restaurants can remain open, but only for takeout and delivery.

So, everyone has been placed in quarantine with a 24/7 curfew. Does that apply to the homeless population. Will the mayor clear the streets of them?

They don’t care about the homeless. What NYC does is load them on a bus and literally dump them in another city. This clears them out and makes room for more.

Those not in control of their facilites may say that. Many are NOT in that condition. If they were, they would NOT want to be homeless. I hope you don’t spit on the ones who are misguided. These are human beings! You sound like a hard arrogant person with a reply like that…..

I `ve know some on a personal level, met their families, attended their funerals. One I knew, would beg money,buy his drugs and beer, then give the rest of his money away, share his beer and drugs w/other homeless. Then one rainy night on Hwy.6 in Ia. City, he was drunk,walking beside hwy. & stumbled into traffic, got hit by a van, and ran over by a car behind the van. (a friend saw it happen). Name was Jxxx xxxxxx,I miss him. Now, I work part time,semi retired. He was ,I don`t know, something happened to him that turned him away from society. His family gave me the impression they were dysfunctional.He lost some toes to frostbite one winter camping out.All he had was a blanket.A cop gave him a tent. He called it ‘home’. He didn`t like being around other homeless, he once told me. He did choose to live that way. Several small buis. owners offered him a job. KFC gave him a meal now & then.I know, everybodies got a story. But, Jxxx`s touched me a little.
