Three people are dead and a fourth is in hospital after an overnight series of random stabbings in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. The attacker knifed two women, one fatally on Wednesday night before going on to also stab a man to death near a Kew tram stop.
The 34-year-old Roxburgh Park man, Mohammed Ibrahim, was shot dead by police after he tried to attack officers with one of his knives.
Media and law enforcement are calling it “a random act of senseless violence” “not terror-related”, in other words – Islamic terror.

Several streets in Hawthorn and Kew closed off after ‘random act of senseless violence’ police believe is not terror-related
Police say the “random act of senseless violence” appears to have started about 10.40pm on Wednesday.
A protective services officer at Jolimont train station, near the Melbourne Cricket Ground, was approached by a stranger and stabbed in the arm and cheek with a kitchen knife. He received non-life threatening cuts to his face.
Police say the attacker then got on a train and soon after, two women were found in a car at Coppin Grove in Hawthorn about 11.20pm with life-threatening stab wounds. Police said it appeared the women had just arrived home and were getting out of their car.
One 30-year-old woman died and the other, a 31-year-old woman, is in the Alfred hospital in a critical condition.
Police were then called to reports of a man stabbed near a tram stop in Kew about 12.15am on Thursday.
That man, who was 59-years-old , died in hospital, while a second man was spotted by police a few hundred metres away, in Walton Street.

The second man, since identified as a 34-year-old man from Roxburgh Park, was shot dead by police, who said they fired their weapons while trying to arrest him.
On Thursday morning several streets in Hawthorn and Kew remained closed off, with screens in place to hide the crime scenes, and city-bound trains were not stopping at Jolimont train station on Thursday morning.
Police said it did not appear that the victims were known to the man, and they were working to establish a link between the three incidents.

“There is nothing to suggest at this stage this is nothing less than a random act of senseless violence,” assistant commissioner Glenn Weir told reporters at the scene.
Weir said it was “very traumatic … a terrible event”.
Investigators were now trying to piece together what happened between the attacks.
Weir told 3AW radio at this stage there was “zero evidence” to indicate it is a terror-related event.
“This is a terrible event, this is something that’s just shocking,” he said.
Roads at Kew and Jolimont station remained closed.
Police are not searching for anyone else and the community is not at risk.
The shooting by a police officer is being investigated by professional standards command and the deaths will be investigated by the coroner.

Why does the media show such reticence in covering terrorist incidents?
An obscure, local publication in California provides a clue.
“Conflict narratives continue to promote division and misunderstanding. Peace narratives promote understanding, cooperation and lay the foundation for the conditions necessary for a peaceful society.” — a quote of Peace Fellow Alden Jacobs, p. 5, “Sharing ideas on waging peace — Part Two,” by editor Mary-Justine Lanyon, The Alpine Mountaineer.
Narratives in this context mean explanations concerning causes of violent situations. Presumably, one would prefer narratives that accurately explain the causes.
However, this Alden Jacobs isn’t interest in accuracy. He wants “peace narratives” that are narratives that raise hopes to achieve peace by projecting good will on both sides and clearing up misunderstandings.
Thus reports of Moslem terrorist incidents would be regarded as “conflict narratives” which “promote division and misunderstandings.”
The debate is epistemological. The issue is objectivity versus subjectivity. Do we live in a world where facts are facts regardless of how we may feel about them, or do we live in a world where we can make unpleasant facts disappear by removing them from our consciousness awareness?
Liberals clearly believe the latter.

Excellent post. We have reached that point. Another example is males believing they can be females. I don’t care how many hormones are pumped into them or how much they multilate their bodes, shave their Adam’s apple and have ther cosmetic changes, they are still MALE. Their BRAIN is wired differently. Their body is designed differently and their DNA will always show they are MALE.

I still feel for my family’s safety in Victoria and pray for them and others.
At least I tried to spread the dangers with them last time seeing them.

Been fighting issues on many issues for about twenty five years or longer Had wrote articles to the newspapers and family did not appreciate the flak. Family slow to come around to Islam as it’s not been an easy road and all older now and understand more.

We all have been thrown into this ever since Obama and more and more been revealed. I guess many in the USA was ten steps ahead of me and been there.
No.! Australia has been a good country, only politicians both sides been selling Australia, and could see what was happening back then. Lot more clearer today as I can give it names. Have to fight where ever we stand. I try to share lots as I do from history to today’s world as I can see more into it knowing more about history. Shame many do not understand and see all I do and still many answers to be found.
Every time when out try and share history and what’s happening around us. I just want people to look at what’s going on. Hope someone will pick up from me and continue researching and sharing.

You might want to conside Catholicism creating Islam. They have some common ground but it is the Pope that wants a universal religion and named as such. Islam does too but the differnces between Catholicism – Christ – being the main objective prevent that.

How the heck can they say this was random violence when they haven’t even looked into this guy’s background like what he was all about. Did he frequent a mosque? What was on his computer or phone? It just seems too soon for them to dismiss terrorism
unless these Aussies work really fast! Hopefully the woman in the hospital recovers and is able to remember if he said anything at all. Women in their thirties who had their whole lives ahead of them and the young man too. So very sad! But also infuriating! Don’t tell me that we don’t need our second amendment. What precautions should one take to avoid being stabbed to death by a random Muslim nutjob? Apparently our public health services have no answers because we’re just supposed to accept being butchered by these monsters and stay quiet about it.
I say everyone should get armed wherever using guns for self-defense is legal. Be wary and if you suspect an attack, take them out before they get you. I think for now we have no choice but to protect ourselves because our rotten leaders aren’t going to do it for us.

Yet if a crazy white/Christian guy killed Muslims, then suddenly it’s the rise of the ‘far-right’ and all white or Christian people are to blame.
It’s a disgusting double-standard and it is largely the Liberal media that is responsible because they refuse to report honestly about Islam/Muslims.
I’ll bet someone’s pulling their strings, I have heard whenever journalists speak honestly about Islam they’re eventually let go.

Just watch the Australian police refuse to connect the dots between ‘Mohammed Ibrahim’ and Islam or jihad. No matter how many random Muslim murders take place we will be told that this had nothing to do with Islam.
That said, congratulations to the police officers who shot dead this disgusting fool Muslims. No food wasted on him, no court appearances, no idiotic lawyer involved to cook up some ridiculous reason why Mohammed did what he did.
