The potential chilling effect on journalists, and others, who expose official wrongdoing by publishing information disclosed to them by credible sources, could have a profound impact on the public’s right-to-know what their government is up to.

Video – Part 1 – as the protestors were setting up microphone and banners outside the British Consulate

Video Part 2- Margaret Kunstler, civil rights lawyer and co-editor of “In Defense of Julian Assange“.

Margaret Ratner Kunstler  … in 2015 and 2016, helped Assange plan his legal strategy and arrange media appearances … a 2017 direct message from Assange’s Twitter account to Donald Trump Jr., identified Kunstler as a person to contact at WikiLeaks … this has caused consternation in the left-wing legal community. Her long-time friends and associates find it unthinkable that an activist and stalwart in the civil rights bar might have aided the Trump campaign or administration, even inadvertently.” [Japan Times] Seems that isn’t of concern any more.

Speakers advertised were also to include: Deborah Hrbek, Media lawyer and member of WikiLeaks legal team; Ben Norton, journalist, The Grayzone; Kim Ives, writer and editor of Haiti Liberté, John Tarleton, editor-in-chief, The Indypendent. [Common Dreams]

Lawyers for the U.S. government are seeking Assange’s extradition to the United States, where he faces 18 charges; his specific criminal actions related to the release of hundreds of thousands of top-secret U.S. diplomatic cables and documents in 2010 and 2011.

Assange’s lawyer said he was the obvious symbol of all that Trump condemned… He brought American war crimes to the world. [LA Times]

Lawyers acting for the U.S. government said Assange was guilty of “pure criminality” and cannot hide behind the guise of journalist.

His actions — hacking into a U.S. Department of Justice computer system with U.S. Army intelligence analyst Bradley (Chelsea) Manning and knowingly putting people at risk of torture and death by releasing thousands of classified documents that revealed the identities of sources helping the U.S. and its allies during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq; this is an ordinary criminal charge.

Journalism is not an excuse for criminality.

Manning was convicted by court-martial under the Espionage Act and spent several years behind bars, but Assange has never faced trial. [LA Times]

BTW, at this Global Protest,
WHY: “FREE ‘Chelsea’ Manning?
Obama freed him in 2017.

Manning downloaded more than 700,000 classified documents from US military servers and passed them to WikiLeaks. [The Guardian 2013]

Manning said he attempted to contact the New York Times, and spoke to a Washington Post reporter during this period, but neither newspaper was quick to respond. So, he gave the information to WikiLeaks which went on to partner with news organizations, including the Guardian , to share the leaked information. [NPR] [The Guardian 2017]

(Manning’s crime of espionage) was the largest compromise of classified information in the history of the United States. The names of human rights activists, journalists, religious leaders and dissidents were left unredacted in some of the material which, the prosecution argues, put them and their families at serious risk of being harmed by the oppressive governments they lived under. [LA Times]

The extradition hearing (for Assange) will continue for a week and then be placed on hold until May 18, 2020, so both sides can gather more evidence before a further three-week hearing.” [LA Times]

Read the article, didn’t watch the vids. Don’t know if Pamela Hall is for extradition or not? What I do know is that he is being held and hindered by a couple of government services corporations operating under color of authority and color of law, as they are falsely claiming he is their property. This goes back to Roman rule times where a slaves name was all capitalized. Look at your drivers license or any other government transaction and you’ll find your name in all caps. Why, their claiming you as their property which is why they can deny you rights at any time or place. Always the cry of the guilty,” They shouldn’t be able to spy on me!” Their maxim of law is ” Let he is will be deceived be deceived.” That should tell you everything you need to know about the deep state.

If Assange didn’t do the hacking and just printed what was sent to him what’s the difference between what he did and the MSM printing leaks from government officials? Now if he was the hacker then roast his nuts same goes for uh oh the idiot that’s hiding in Russia damit I can’t think of his name Snowden maybe, could be

Actually though I dislike Assange what Snowden did was far worse,
but as Assange printed what was sent to him he bears equal responsibility. Just as somebody who assist a murder is also responsible.

so why isn’t the MSM responsible for publishing leaks? Because those leaks aren’t classified perhaps? I agree with Snowden being liable for releasing top secrete info. and should be tried as a traitor and hung well maybe not hung but life in prison

I agree re the MSM printing leaks and there being no consequences for them, but why your hostility toward Edward Snowden? He exposed that the U.S. government, Obama’s government, was spying on U.S. citizens and that James Clapper is a first-rate liar and crook. Further, why are James Comey, James Clapper and John Brennan not facing the law or not inside prison? They broke the law. Snowden and Assange exposed that the U.S. government through the actions of scum like Brennan and Clapper were spying on U.S. citizens, so why was that okay. Comey lied to the FISA court to get permission to spy on Trump, so why is he free? I’ll never forget on BBC Laura Trevelyan describing James Comey as a “boy’s scout” in order to us what an honest and good guy he is, and then it turned out that he is an incompetent and dishonest horse’s ass.

I was about to post the exact same thing. He did what every other reporter does. He was given the intel and he released it, protecting his source. Extradite him so we can get to the truth. Problem is, the truth would hurt a lot of swamp dwellers. We can’t have that, now can we?

Very rarely would I agree with any Marxist mob but this time I actually do. If the Brits hand im over to the US he will most likely die during the flight from a “Heart attack” or once in jail will commit “Suicide”. Just like Epstein he just knows too much. One just have to look at the fate of dozens of people who happen to have “known” Hillary.

Julian Assange is the world’s greatest living journalist. Among other things, his exposure of the DNC files gave a tremendous assist to the Trump campaign. As for Iraq, we should never have been there in the first place. Our sole accomplishment was to turn Iraq into an Iranian satellite. Assange’s persecution and prosecution are merely to assuage our wholly corrupt, globalist, ineffective, money laundering, overfunded, bloated intelligence establishment.

Assange “published” facts about US war crimes.

Assange is not a US citizen so he can not be accused of treason.

BTW, nothing that Wilkileaks has published has EVER been proven to be false.

The Pentagon is shyting themselves.

Iraq was firing SCUD surface to surface missiles at Israel. If the US hadn’t done something to stop it Israel would have HAD to. The worry back then was that Saddam would begin packing his SCUD missiles w/mustard gas (you know the poisonous weapon of mass destruction Saddam used against the Kurds).

Some ‘tards don’t think mustard gas qualifies as a weapon of mass destruction, then again they probably think of it as something that goes well with a hot dog.

True, but a few dozen cruise missiles aimed up his ass would have discouraged that effort. Also, arming he Kurds to the teeth would not have been a bad idea.

Saddam’s SCUD surface-to-surface launchers were mobile. Cruise missiles wouldn’t have worked to stop them.

You do realize in Iraqi Kurdistan if you dare to insult the prophet of islum you will be arrested and prosecuted right? You do realize the Kurds are overwhelmingly muslum and enthusiastically persecute Christians in Iraqi Kurdistan right?
