GOP Considering Expunging Trump Impeachment If They Win Back House

Republicans are planning to expunge President Donald Trump’s impeachment if they retake the House in November, the New York Post is reporting.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had proclaimed that Trump will “be impeached forever.”
Story continues below advertisementBut House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy feels differently.
“This is the fastest, weakest, most political impeachment in history,” McCarthy told the newspaper on Wednesday. “I don’t think it should stay on the books.”
According to the Post, Republicans say investigating how Democrats pursued their impeachment of the president could, in fact, provide a factual basis to spark the expungement effort.
“I think [if] we take the majority, some of the key priorities for us are infrastructure, lowering prescription drugs, and others,” McCarthy said. “But I think when you look at what the Democrats have done, I also think we have to get to the bottom of it.”
Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, said: “The president is there and I think ultimately with the things that are going to be coming out in the months ahead, it will be all the more appropriate. More and more people will see that. So then I think by next year it will be an appropriate thing to file and do.”

In Truth – there WAS no “impeachment”, there was no “impeachable offense” (by democrats maybe, but not by Trump), there was just a RABID ATTACK on a sitting US President by a bunch of ‘butt-hurt’ loonies.

If they retake the House and retain the Senate, which I believe is the best result for this country, and I hope that happens, expungement should be at the bottom of the itinerary, as many other matters take priority, and I would expect that Trump would be in favor of that approach. He is laughing at the stupidity of the media and democrats, as I expect most of us reasonable and right thinking people are doing as well. This country needs to move away from the divisiveness that has been created by those suffering from the Trump syndrome, and the sooner the better.

I think unfortunately he has to do what is correct. After winning in 2016 he said he would not investigate Hillary, that was his mistake, and then they came after him. The only way to get rid of divisiveness is to shed a spot light on their organized coup. He has to do what he failed to do upon winning in 2016. Charge Clinton’s charge those involved in this organized coup. Well, that’s what I think. The left is not going to sit quietly. Attack or be attacked.

I suspect, from the way he seems to operate, that the statement was to misdirect the opposition. I don’t remember exactly how he phrased it. He’s now seemingly gaining support in DC from the GOP, so we’ll see what happens.
I hope he hits them with everything that can be summoned.
There are signs that things are beginning to move. One is talk and work towards putting the Secret Service back into Treasury. Another is the shifting of political allies like Jordan into more powerful positions.

…. and, just like being “indicted for a crime” …. there HAD TO BE AN “IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE” to be “impeached” …. thus, there was no “impeachable offense” there was no “impeachment” …. all there was, as so succinctly put by Hannity, a Schumer/Schiff-Sham-Show.

Since President Trump was acquitted in the senate, he was not impeached. The house inquiry was just an investigation, not the trial. since the trial found President Trump not guilty, and acquitted him, he was not impeached.

He was impeached. He simply was not convicted. An impeachment could be looked at as an indictment. When someone charged with a crime and indicted, even when found Not Guilty, that individual was still indicted.

I definitely agree. The impeachment should be voided. It was a partisan travesty, a stain on the House. Pelosi and Schiff should be sent back to CA, given orange vests and put on poop removal duty in their respective cities.

Mark Meadows will take over republican leadership of the House Oversight Committee for the remainder of the year replacing Jim Jordan. Mark Meadow is retiring.

Repeal and replace was the familiar re-election chant with the swamp and then we discovered they had NO REPLACEMENT when they controlled the House and Senate.
They wanted US to have Obamacare.
Remember how McShame ran on repeal and replace? Since he was terminal, he happily took the hit for the swamp team and repeal and replace didn’t happen because of HIS vote. If it wasn’t him it would have been another swamp creature. It was not in the cards to get rid of Obamacare for us. They exempted themselves from it as well as federal employess. In any event, McShame is probably looking up.
