Traitor Mitt Romney Again Signals He’s with the Democrats on Impeachment

Story continues below advertisement

By Warner Todd Huston, Washington Sentinel, January 27, 2020:

GOP traitor, Sen. Mitt Romney, signaled that he is leaning toward voting with Democrats on the question of hearing from more fake “witnesses. GOP traitor, Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, has signaled that he is leaning toward voting with the Democrats over the question of hearing from more fake “witnesses” during the Senate’s impeachment proceedings.

The carpetbagging “Utah” Senator — who is really from left-wing Massachusetts, but only bought his Senate seat in Utah — recently said that he will likely turn against  his Republican colleagues and the president and vote in favor of allowing more fake Democrat “witnesses” in the impeachment trial continuing this coming week.

The traitor made his position known in a Saturday interview:

“I think it’s very likely I’ll be in favor of witnesses, but I haven’t made a decision finally yet, and I won’t until the testimony is completed,” Romney said.

Romney is one of the main Republicans that the anti-American Democrats hope to peel away from the right side of history. And, traitor that he is, they will likely succeed.

The carpetbagging Sen., though, must sense that he is beginning to lose support back home. Last week the former liberal Massachusetts Gov. tried to backtrack a few steps from his outright support for Democrats in their quest to topple a Republican president and take away the choice of millions of American voters.

After his repeated anti-Trump statements, Utah “Republican” Senator Mitt Romney tried to back away from his outright support for impeachment on Tuesday.

Democrats were likely expecting Romney to come out swinging against Trump as the U.S. Senate begins its part of the impeachment drama this week. Instead, Romney took a few steps backward from his previous anti-Trump support for impeachment.

Romney’s reaction to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s outline for the Senate’s proceedings struck a slightly different tone than his previous comments.

As Daily Wire reported:

While Democrats are taking to various media platforms to express outrage over the Republicans’ plans for handling the trial, accusing McConnell of attempting to “cover up” the president’s alleged misconduct by fast-tracking the proceedings, Romney pointed out in a statement issued ahead of the debate Tuesday that the rules set forth by his colleagues “align closely” with those established for the impeachment trial of then-President Bill Clinton, rules which were unanimously approved by the Senate.

Meanwhile, Romney’s Democrat pals railed over McConnell’s plans. Sen. Schumer, for instance, absurdly exclaimed: “We are staring down an erosion of the sacred democratic principles for which our founders fought a bloody war of independence.”

Romney, though, did not exactly support the Democrat line. Though agreeing with the left that the allegations against Trump are “extremely serious,” Romney added that he thinks the Senate should “put political biases aside” and hear the case in “good faith.”

“The allegations outlined in the articles of impeachment passed by the House are extremely serious — did the President abuse his office for personal political gain, and did he obstruct Congress’ investigation by blocking subpoenas?” Romney said in the statement. “These allegations demand that the Senate put political biases aside, and make good faith efforts to listen to arguments from both sides and thoroughly review facts and evidence. I have made clear to my colleagues and the public that the Senate should have the opportunity to decide on witnesses following the opening arguments, as occurred in the Clinton trial. The organizing resolution released tonight includes this step, and overall, it aligns closely with the rules package approved 100-0 during the Clinton trial. If attempts are made to vote on witnesses prior to opening arguments, I would oppose those efforts.”

Romney later pushed out a press release slamming Democrats:

As we approach the impeachment trial of the President, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to the Constitution, to the people of Utah and to the nation. I want to share my thoughts directly with Utahns — the people I was elected to serve in the Senate — about how I plan to approach this process.

Last week, I and all senators swore an oath to ‘do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws: so help me God’ in determining whether the president has committed impeachable offenses that merit his removal from office. Deciding whether or not a sitting president should be removed from office is perhaps the most solemn matter that can ever come before the United States Senate. I enter this task with an open mind and a recognition of my solemn responsibility to fulfill my oath.

The allegations outlined in the articles of impeachment passed by the House are extremely serious — did the President abuse his office for personal political gain, and did he obstruct Congress’ investigation by blocking subpoenas? These allegations demand that the Senate put political biases aside, and make good faith efforts to listen to arguments from both sides and thoroughly review facts and evidence. If attempts are made to vote on witnesses prior to opening arguments, I would oppose those efforts.

I will conclude by noting that this is not a situation anyone would wish upon our country. It is difficult, divisive, and further inflames partisan entrenchment. There is inevitable political pressure from all sides. I have spent — and will continue to spend — many hours in careful deliberation about what this process and its potential outcomes could mean for our country. The best we in the Senate can do is strive to meet the obligations outlined by our founding fathers — to honor our constitutional duty and fulfill our oath to do impartial justice. That is the commitment I make solemnly and in good faith to the people of Utah and our nation.

So, why has Romney suddenly started pulling back a bit from his extreme hate for Trump?

His poll numbers are tanking, of course.

According to KSL.com:

There was an 8% drop in his approval rating among Republicans in the most recent Mitt Romney polls. It went from 65% in the third quarter to 57% in the last quarter.

But support among Democrats went up from 42 to 46% over the same time for the Utah Republican.

And so… suddenly Romney is looking a bit more like a Republican to regain support.

Nepotism degrading and destroying our country, conceived, founded and built by men and women who made it on their own, not on Daddy’s coat tails, like Bush I, Bush, Jr., Pelosi (whose father was a thug crony Democrat Mayor of Baltimore), Murkowski (who obliged to move into her Senator father’s seat), and this despicable wimp Romney.
Brave men and women rose to the occasion to create our great country that we all have to thank for everything we have, and coward’s like this little weasel Romney are threatening to take it down, while he will still be lapping at his milk bowl.
Pissant!

Utah will never “recall” Willard. He’s a mormon. 65% of Utah is mormon. They’d rather burn their sacred undies than vote out a mormon.

I’ll never really trust mormons because their pedophile prophet for profit reminds me too much of mohamMAD and indeed Joseph Smith compared himself to Mad Mo even to the point of calling himself a second mohamMAD.

There are many rational intelligent arguments to make here. Many Mormons agree with you that he needs to go so why pull something so stupid and non-factual, out of the wrong side of your skull, unless your whole objective is to piss off the very people, who are best equipped to help you get rid of him?

If a mormon disagrees with Willard, they’ll still vote for him. They’d rather burn their sacred undies than vote against Willard.

I’m surprised the mormons and Utah didn’t throw in w/the confederacy — the confederates made overtures to them.

Non factual? Joseph Smith started an insurrection in Missouri over his desire to keep his polygamous marriages to underage girls. The mormons in Utah attacked a wagon train, killed all the adults and took all the children. It’s suspected Brigham Young himself may have ordered the attack.

Like Harry Reid and Mike Lee?
Both are traitors and trying to take us down.

GOP Sen. Mike Lee Thanks India’s Visa-Workers for Pressuring U.S. Senators to Export U.S. Jobs
NEIL MUNRO 18 Oct 2019

A GOP Senator met with more than 100 Indian contract workers in Congress and publicly urged them to lobby U.S. Senators for passage of his legislation to give citizenship to more Indian workers who push middle-class Americans out of college-graduate jobs.

Utah Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) made the request on Thursday, shortly his fourth bid to pass his S.286 green-card giveaway bill. The bill was quickly blocked by an objection from a Democratic Senator — while the other 52 GOP Senators did not speak out. “We’re now down to one objector, just one,” Lee claimed, adding:

“What we don’t know is how long any one objector will continue to object to something that does as much good as this bill does while doing no harm. It is pretty hard to do that … I’m going to have to keep doing it until I lose my voice.”

Lee repeatedly touted his outsourcing bill as a noble effort against supposed anti-Indian “discrimination.”

Lee argued that his bill is morally good because it would remove the so-called “country caps” which are intended to diversify the award of green cards to people from many countries. That diversity counts as “discrimination” because it ensures that only about 10,000 Indians workers can get green cards each year, he said. Hill bill would allow up 60,000 Indian workers to get green cards.

Removing country caps “stands to reason; it is a matter of simple logic to conclude … it does not make any sense to put an arbitrary cap on the basis of what country someone came from,’ he told the Indians.

Let’s be fair. John Bolton is no better than Mitt Romney. Bolton is eager to testify against President Trump.

Wondering why Pelosi could have been hanging on to those articles of impeachment?
Bitter, petty John Bolton is releasing a tell all book against Trump. Bolton is pissed he didn’t get his way with dragging us into more endless wars. I doubt there was ever a war that Bolton didn’t want to get us involved in – going way back to Viet Nam.

Tucker Carlson is RIGHT about Bolton. Bolton is a deep state, neocon doing the Bush and establishment bidding. Trump gave him a chance and finally had to fire him, The last straw was trying to sabotage NK by suggesting to Kim he take the Libya model for nuclear disarment. Kim has been clear that is not a possibility and so was was Trump. Libya was in its infancy with nuclear weapons; NK is not. Kim objected and required Bolton, our National Security Advisor, be removed from further negotiations.

Bolton was part of the samp war machine and working against Trump behind his back. This is why there was NO house cleaning at the state department – they were on the same page – working against Trump and what Trump wanted.

Bolton was Trump’s attorney, and there is such a thing as a client attorney relationship. He has no business telling what he knows because he was Trump’s attorney. He should be disbarred for doing so,

Bolton was a national security advisor and NEVER Trump’s attorney. Because of security issues Trump is right to not want him testifying because of executive privilege.
