UPS to train delivery drivers how to spot signs of sex slavery

ATLANTA (CBS46) –Workers at the UPS Atlanta Regional Hub started their day a little differently Thursday. They got a glimpse into some important training all drivers are about to get – how to spot potential cases of sex trafficking.
Story continues below advertisementUPS executives gathered employees to announce the company is strengthening its commitment to anti-human trafficking awareness and training by empowering drivers to help be the “eyes and ears” of the community.
“It puts a different layer on their relationship that we have with our drivers to understand it’s not just about the company. It’s not just about our employees, but it’s truly about our community,” said Danelle McCusker Rees, Human Resources President for UPS’s domestic operations. “This issue impacts everyone.”
UPS had already trained its freight drivers on how to spot signs of sex trafficking. Now they’re training the drivers who actually go into neighborhoods. To implement the training, the company teamed up with the organization Truckers Against Trafficking.
Helen Van Dam runs the organization’s Freedom Drivers Project. She says traffickers are counting on the ignorance of the general public.
“They’re counting on everyone thinking that the person they’re selling is just a prostitute, just a hooker,” said Van Dam, adding that many times it’s not voluntary – the victim has been forced into sex slavery.
Van Dam said drivers will be trained on signs of sex trafficking such as “branding” tattoos on victims.
“It could be the pimp’s moniker, could be ‘Daddy,’ ‘Moneymaker,’” she said.
The training will begin in the coming weeks. In the end, more than 130,000 UPS drivers nationwide will be trained.To kick off the campaign, drivers received cards with the national hotline number which trainers hope drivers will keep with them on their routes.
“Put it in their wallet,” said Van Dam. “Put it in their visor, wherever it’s going to help remind them that they have a role to play that maybe no one else is going to play in that person’s life.”

Police don’t get involved in non criminal activities. UPS drivers interact daily with many people. Criminals avoid the police. The government is rarely the answer to any problem.

Pimps are usually only charged with a misdemeanor. Sex between an underage girl and say, a boyfriend in his mid-twenties could get him charged with statutory rape. Not that I think an older guy should be having sex with a minor but the legal outcome favors a real pimp.

There are efforts underway now to de-criminalize prostitution in the US. One problem with that idea is that you will never end child sex trafficking and other human trafficking if that happens. If Democrats have their way the age of consent will be five. There are well known hubs of child sex trafficking in this US right now. POTUS Trump has been going after this since he entered office. Just another reason the global elite want to take him down. Open borders and human, organ, drug, etc., trafficking are big money makers.

I don’t know but it would be interesting to know the extent of the problem of child sex trafficking in the USA. I have read that you can count on both girls and boys being available at major sports and other national events. I doubt that this is even on most people’s radar. This is a huge stain and curse on our nation.
I think there are something like 300,000 churches in America. I don’t know how many synagogues we have in the USA. But if every pastor or rabbi took ten minutes or so to call out the problem and commit to training their congregation to be aware it might save some of the victims. I have heard that Trump has a Pentagon Task Force that has already found pedophile gangs and saved many children.

GOOD FOR UPS! I saw Josh Yoyens on LIFE, LIBERTY, AND LEVIN a few months back. His sister was captured by sex traffickers…..she was freed 8 days later….a rare accomplishment. Yoyens did a movie called “8 Days” is in America going around to law enforcement and others to raise the alarm and train them how to spot it. It is an epidemic globally….and is here in America.

Sorry….I thought his name was Yoyens….but I’m told by another poster that it is spelled Booyens….he is a White South African. You might be able to find his appearance with Mark Levin on the shows website and just above me is a post by Felix with a film clip.
However, the movie “8 Days” tells you how they got her back that fast….most girls and some young boys aren’t that lucky.

knowing this stuff existed and have been following Field McConnell’s work to expose this horror and help the victims, but I didn’t have any feel for the details. I just finished watching the movie about this, “8 Days.” I don’t assume any movie tracks the truth completely but it was a
wake up call. I am still shaking. This evil has to be exposed and
removed.

I’ll be honest…..I could not handle that movie….I’ll take his and Levin’s word for it. I am daily involved in the homicide of my Alzheimer Dad…going from law enforcement agency to law enforcement agency trying to get justice for our Dad. I can’t handle any more horrific injustice right now.
What I heard on Levin’s show from Mr. Booyens was enough for me.
I know that he is meeting with law enforcement all over the USA to teach them how to spot victims and rescue them. He said that his “information” was on President Trump’s desk…probably being held up for the tragic clown show of the Dimms…..while they play their games, children all over America are being kidnapped into the sex trade…..DO NOTHING DIMMS!

I didn’t know you were enduring the murder of your Alzheimer’s dad and the frustrating work to find justice. The person that did this might be having his conscience tormented even though he/she might appear to be free for now. I would rather face civil justice than God’s perfect justice. He is without doubt already working behind the scenes to reveal the truth.

They’ll be trained in how to spot homemade ranges, bullet casings, signs of illegal gun activity, etc. It’s important since passing a gun ban everyone does their share to stop anyone who might try to use a gun against his fellow man.”
