Christians don’t usually go around beheading people because others don’t believe in Christianity….nor have they. Not even during the Crusades…which was a war on islam because they were doing what muslims do….going all over Europe and N. Africa, raping, pillaging, killing, burning, and destroying. I don’t have a problem with criticizing a cult that does those things and who says anyone who doesn’t believe as they do are ‘infidels’ and must be killed.

Again much as I agree with the majority of your post and I know the abuse that you have received here from the “kind” “tolerant” ones who call themselves Christians but actually know very little about JoN and his concept of tolerance. I cannot agree about atheism. I have run into atheists who are as bigoted, fanatical and evangelical as any believer and that is because they ARE believers: they have a belief that is impossible to prove. Like it or not(and I actually find it funny) atheism IS a religion. I always thought of Feynman (whom I once admired) was at the mercy of his arrogance when he evangelized atheism as in a quantum theory universe nothing is certain and you cannot know certainty. WRT life, You can gain hints from NDEs (especially if you have had one), from the research of Ian Stevenson and the like, and from those strange inexplicable things that happen to us all(I have seen auras in pregnant women and in certain others)etc. I do believe in the immortal soul and reincarnation but any god that does exist fits no current religious framework in my mind and quite honestly I do not like or have respect for any of them. I do have my own personal opinions that explain talking in tongues, and other strange gifts, multiple personalities and some “psychiatric” illnesses but best left for elsewhere. I expect that with this post I will paint a target on my back but I frankly no longer care. Liatris Spicata was a strictly middle of the road poster who looked at both sides and annoyed me often. He was in many ways a wide eyed naïve liberal. Thanks in part, to me he no longer posts here and that does trouble me as although I disagreed with many of his posts (especially the one that slated Truman for using nukes which finally made me attack one of his posts) he was brave enough to continue to post here for along time despite the constant flak.

It is not purely communist. it is Chinese Communists who have even less care about their people and TBH have never had much care for them. When the Flying Tigers operated there in WW2 they used to level airfields with 100 people pulling a ?100 ton roller and every so often someone would fall under it and come out like a potato chip. The Chinese just laughed. China has always been notorious for the cheapness of life and especially that of the peasantry. Mind you, no one ever cared overmuch for the lower classes even now anywhere. But in China it is still so.
