U.S. private sector adds the most jobs in eight months

ADP reports job gains rose by 202,000, well above forecast of 157,000

Story continues below advertisement

By MarketWatch, January 8th, 2019:

The numbers: U.S. private-sector employment picked up in December as businesses added 202,000 jobs, according to data released Wednesday.

Economists polled by Econoday had expected a December gain of 157,000 compared with an originally reported increase of 67,000 in November. On Wednesday, ADP revised November’s gain to 124,000.

What happened: Private-sector service providers made up most of December’s growth, adding 173,000 jobs. Meanwhile, goods producers added 29,000. Midsized companies added 88,000 jobs, small companies added 69,000 jobs and large companies added 45,000.

Big picture: Economists use ADP’s data to get an idea of the Labor Department’s employment report, which will be released Friday and covers government jobs in addition to the private sector. Economists polled by MarketWatch expect the government’s report to show nonfarm payroll employment rose by 160,000 jobs last month, compared with a November gain of 266,000 jobs. Economists noted that the two reports do not always move in tandem. That was evident in November, when the ADP reading was weak in contrast to the strong gain in private payrolls.

I love President Trump and he has my vote in 2020. 4 million Americans turn 18 every year that works out to 333 thousand per month. Only 62 percent of working age Americans are employed so 62 percent of 333 thousand works out to 206 thousand new people looking for work each month. This is about the number of new private sector jobs announced in the report. Good but what kind of private sector jobs? Corporate America continues to outsource jobs to overseas locations and imports large numbers of H1B visas not very good. America for Americans.

Trump needs to do something about the white collar VISA ABUSE but Congress will do NOTHING about
it… He can not EO changes. What ‘s the point of pushing STEM, when foreign VISA students get the jobs and companies have financial incentives to hire them? With VISAS they no longer need to outsource it to foreign countries. Optional Practical Training (OPT) is temporary employment that is directly related to an F-1 student’s major area of study and they are given out like candy making it tougher for legal American students to get good internships for experience and it enhances their chances of getting a green card through being hired by a company here.

The VISA abuse is shocking. They have a VISA for nearly any job you can think of… M1, J1
https://visaguide.world/us-visa/ ALL take jobs from legal Americans because they work cheap!

GOP Sen. Grassley Wants To Limit President Trump’s Tariff Powers
OAN Newsroom
UPDATED 7:55 PM PT — Wednesday, January 8, 2020

Senator Chuck Grassley is moving to limit President Trump’s ability to impose tariffs on other nations. While speaking to reporters in Washington on Wednesday, Grassley said he wants to push legislation that would accomplish his longtime goal.

The Iowa Republican went on to say the measure would target the 1962 Trade Expansion Act, which the president has used to slap tariffs on our global trading partners.

The president’s critics have accused him of abusing his power by imposing steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada, Mexico, the EU and Japan. However, he later reversed course regarding Mexico and Canada after they agreed to the USMCA, a NAFTA replacement trade deal.

Good news, but the best paying jobs in America need to be reserved for native Americans and not handed out to immigrants legal or otherwise. The VISA system is being systematically abused to allow companies to suppress the wages of the middle class and to enhance their already grotesque profits.
