‘Hannity’ Cancels Geraldo Rivera During Iran Coverage

I have no idea why Hannity has that blowhard on so much. Every other left-wing news channel is riddled with those idiots. We have nowhere to run.

‘Hannity’ Cancels Geraldo Rivera During Iran Coverage

Fox News longtimer Geraldo Rivera was scheduled to appear on Sean Hannity‘s program Tuesday night.

But Geraldo got the axe.

Story continues below advertisement

And it appears he got himself canceled in just two tweets.

Daily Caller, January 8, 2020

The familiar Fox News personality was enthused about counseling Sean Hannity on war with Iran. Last week, President Donald Trump authorized the U.S. to take out Iranian leader Qasem Soleimani, a general the president has described as a “monster.” On Tuesday night, reports emerged that Iran had retaliated with missiles shot at two Iraqi bases housing U.S. forces.

There was talk that Trump may deliver an address to the nation.

But it was all premature chatter — the White House ultimately opted against it

Perhaps it was this sentiment at 6:53 p.m. that was the death knell in Geraldo’s “Hannity” news hit Tuesday night.

The Daily Beast‘s Editor-at-Large Molly Jong-Fast, who is anti-Trump, advised, “You need to go on @seanhannity, otherwise he won’t hear it.”

Oh really?

At 7:18 p.m. Geraldo assured her that he’d be appearing on Hannity’s 9 p.m. show.
“Thx I’ll be on with @seanhannity tonight counseling restraint & talking about these deeply disturbing developments.@elevrivera.”

Yeah, sure you will Geraldo!

By 7:38 p.m. it was all over.

“Never mind Hannity just canceled me,” Geraldo felt the need to report to his 332,000 followers.

The newsman made the best of being rejected. As #NowTrumper Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.) appeared on Hannity, Geraldo pushed for prayer and restraint on Twitter.

Fox News’s opinion journalists have been sharply divided over military intervention in Iraq, with Hannity supporting Trump’s decisions and Tucker Carlson seriously questioning Trump’s reasoning for killing Soleimani. Carlson’s anti-war views in the Middle East are not new, but somehow observers have amnesia about it.

“It’s hard to remember now, but as recently as last week, most people didn’t consider Iran an imminent threat,” Carlson said on his program Monday. He needled Trump’s Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for sourcing intelligence agencies as the reason Iran was perceived as a threat.

“Seems like about 20 minutes ago, we were denouncing these people as the ‘deep state’ and pledging never to trust them again without verification,” Carlson said. “Now, for some reason, we do trust them — implicitly and completely.”

Hannity, meanwhile, has been trumpeting the president’s bold move toward making the world a safer place with the general’s demise.

Hannity’s show should have received a preview on Geraldo’s stance Tuesday morning when the mustachioed journalist appeared on “Fox & Friends.”

“Don’t for a minute start cheering this on,” he told the morning hosts.

Without a Hannity appearance, Geraldo tried to persevere on social media Tuesday night.

“Everyone-regardless of party or political philosophy-should join in praying for our GI’s in harm’s way in Iraq and for their worried families waiting anxiously for their safe return,” he tweeted.

He urged Trump not to make the situation worse.

“Take apparent absence of US casualties as important intentional gesture by Iran,” he continued. “@realDonaldTrump recognize this as step in right direction. They could’ve targeted barracks etc. Seize initiative to counsel further restraint. No escalation. Don’t make mistakes you once criticized.”

Geraldo, who was infamously punched in the nose on his daytime talk show in the late 80s during a show about “Teen Hatemongers,” closed the night with a plea for peace.

“Iranian Foreign Minister #JavadZarif just tweeted that it’s over as far as they’re concerned,” he wrote. “As far as we know, there are no dead Americans from tonight’s attacks. @realDonaldTrump seize this opportunity for peace. Declare victory. Shut it down.”

It’s not “Hannity.” But hey, it’s something.

Jake Lahut, a reporter who covers New Hampshire politics for the Keene Sentinel, remarked, “Every guest on Hannity’s show is treating their time like it’s a presidential briefing.”

Geraldo got that memo.

He just wasn’t on board with Hannity’s point of view.

Why does Fox feel we need to constantly hear from their misguided token leftist nut-jobs? Don’t they think this propaganda is already pervasive enough in the MSM?

You clearly don’t watch Fox News Channel. You should reserve your questions for a CNN comment thread.

Faux News is ‘Fair and Balanced’ …

Fair and Balanced = Half lies + Quick retorts by so-called ‘right’ wingers.

The Left hates Faux news …

because some hosts and some guests are sometimes allowed to tell some of the truth…

without being ‘destroyed’ with some irrelevant, cherry-picked, propaganda talking points.

I don’t watch any MSM unless there is a clip in an article I am reading and only clips that aren’t filled with leftist propaganda. I am the same way when it comes to movies. Most of the current stars are lousy actors anyway and the minute I hear the word climate or some other leftist propaganda, I turn the movie off. I love the classics from the 40s and 50, read, and get my news online. I’m fed up with the bull.

Because Fox is now owned by leftist nut-jobs. They merely hold back with some of their show hosts, but they’re basically like the same fools that run CNN!

Schmucker Carlson is the useful idiot of the antisemitic palecons. The anti Capitalist Conservative sarcastically expresses his ignorance about economics and Middle East players. Geraldo is a jerk and a self hater (his mother is Jewish). Jerry Rivers is an idiot who pretends he is smart about the Middle East. We get that a lot in our culture.

Hannity’s show is based on ‘arguing’ … really it’s usually a shouting match between him and some dipstick like Geraldo – so I am surprised he cancelled GR.

I cannot think of anytime I’ve disagreed with Hannity – which is no surprise – I’m just a couple years older and we share the same viewpoint.

But his show is often unwatchable …

…he lets a Lefty spew, then he responds based on what he knows – often missing important points, and sometimes missing the most important or salient points – to land ‘zingers’ …

This is ‘fun’ for older folks like myself who know what’s going on –

but it’s fighting Lefto-Commie-criminal propaganda with ‘zingers’

… that literally mean nothing to the youth who think all evil flows from Christians, America, or “white” skin …

Often only folks with a brain, or young folks with a home-school education, or others in the so-called Vast RW Conspiracy actually understand that Hannity is right … because his show does not take the time to school the audience. …

Not that he should: The show is for ‘fun’ – not education – but it’s foolish to think otherwise.

THERE’S A CLUE IN WHAT YOU ARE SAYING! HIS SHOW ISN’T EFFECTIVE FOR EXPANDING THE RIGHT-WING BASE DUE TO ITS LACK OF EDUCATION SO PROVERBABLY INEFFECTIVE FROM THE STANDPOINT OF THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN THE LEFT AND RIGHT FOR INFLUENCING THE BODY POLITIC! MEANWHILE IT ALLOWS THE LEFT TO CONTROL THE HIGH GROUND OF APPEARING AS THE THOUGHTFUL FOLKS! HANNITY’S SHOW SHOULD BE CALLED “HANNITY’S RIGHT-FUL ZINGERS” AND FOLKS ENCOURAGED TO GO ONLINE FOR THOUGHTFUL, EDUCATIONAL NEWS SOURCES! WOW!

On foreign policy, Tucker Carlson is a Pat Buchananist, i.e., a neo isolationist. Were Tucker alive in the late 1930s/early 1940s, I`m sure that he would have strongly argued against going to war with Japan and Nazi Germany, as, why should we have cared what these 2 evil regimes were doing, as long as they were doing their evil thousands of miles from our borders? (as he always argues about the ME) Were I to use his “logic”, if I saw Tucker being assaulted several yards away from me, why should I come to his assistance, even if he were my friend or ally by treaty? A very short sighted and selfish way of being.

Sean has that dipshit on his radio show all the time saying what good buddies they are. I immediately turn him off. It’s most likely in his Fox contract that he has to have other Fox contributors on his show to promote them. I am relieved to hear that he finally cancelled from appearing on his TV show. Now, maybe I will not have to turn off the radio in the future.

Granted I am a foreigner, but after watching Geraldo on a number of occasions over a number of years, I simply ask why it does not occur to more Americans that Geraldo is to a large extent nothing more than a blustering imbecile, a not particularly well-informed, well-educated or composed individual who most of the time talks irrational and illogical nonsense. When animatedly blustering and his silly moustache waggling around, he looks what he is, a positive fool with nothing to offer who long ago should have been put out to pasture.
Most of the time I like Tucker Carlson, but he would do himself (and his viewers) a favour by studying Islam, reading the Qur’an and getting himself informed about the thoroughly evil man that was Major General Qassem Soleimani. What President Trump did in regard to Soleimani was long overdue, overdue because his predecessors lacked the ‘guts’ to eliminate this vile Islamic terrorist organizer.

Rivera has a law degree, but has never seen the inside of a courtroom, other than being a defendant. So far, he’s been able to get by, in spite of being a total DRUNK! But his photos of himself unclothed in his bathroom, was the first indication we had that he was on a fast ride downhill. He’s managed to maintain enough sobriety to stay on air, but this latest crap about praising Iran needs to be considered by show producers that he’s unfit – at least for Fox News Channel! Most of us are FED UP with his blathering!

Hi Dorrie, thanks for this input. I had no idea that Geraldo had alcoholic issues. I simply thought he was naturally stupid. However, I’m of the opinion today that some universities hand out law degrees very cheaply – and that Geraldo probably attended one of the useless ones. I’ve had long experience with lawyers, long ago for five days in an inquest over my wife’s death. On that occasion, on my own, I took on five bureaucracies and their lawyers – and managed to embarrass the lot. In my estimation, my truthfulness and their lack of it won the day. I have two young grandchildren in my custody and over Katie, now 11, I was in court – about 60 miles away – on more than 22 occasions over almost 3 years. Through those experiences I’m of the opinion that most lawyers consider it their right to lie and slander, and they do this without consequences.

Tucker Carlson is proving a terrible disappointment. What is it with some journalist? Can they not stand the heat from the left? It’s cowardly and pitiful – and not clever to lament the death of a disgusting terror creator such as Soleimani, or bewail the U.S. showing the terror regime of Iran that it will smash it if it continues its terror promoting actions all over the world. Does Tucker seriously not know that Iran is the world’s premier exporter of Islamic violence and murder?

Tucker Carlson is becoming just as annoying as Geraldo Rivera has been. I’m not recording that show any longer. Hannity will probably be cut NEXT from my recording list, but not quite yet. He seems to have SOME intelligence, where Carlson clearly has lost his somewhere during the last 3 years.
