A Sydney man accused of meeting a drunk woman outside a pub and raping her in a laneway has been bailed after a court noted he can’t speak English.
Story continues below advertisementSayer Hamood Jaber Alenezi, 38, faced Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday on two counts of aggravated sexual assault.
Police allege he approached a 22-year-old woman about 1.30am on Sunday outside the Courthouse Hotel on Oxford Street after she lost touch with her friends inside the pub.

The pair then walked about one kilometre to Turner Lane in Woolloomooloo, where the woman says she was twice sexually assaulted by the man.
‘The complainant appeared to be targeted by the accused due to her intoxication and that no doubt will be part of the prosecution case,’ police prosecutor Mr Kwong told the court.
‘(Her being a stranger) contributes to the risk of endangering the community.’
But while their movements towards the laneway were caught on CCTV, there isn’t any footage of the alleged rape, the court was told.
Alenezi has admitted having sex with the woman.
‘But the main issue is consent,’ Legal Aid lawyer Ms Domadyous told the court.
‘It states in the (police) facts there were no attempts made to stop the accused.’
Ms Domadyous said the issues with the prosecution case and the hardship the Arabic-speaking Alenezi would experience in custody due to his lack of English were reasons he should be granted bail.
Acting Magistrate John Anthony Bailey agreed, saying while not weak the prosecution case certainly could be stronger.

‘His lack of English language may make it difficult for him in custody to prepare a defence to this case,’ he said.
When approached by Nine News after being released from custody, Alenezi repeatedly said: ‘No speak English’.
Alenezi, who doesn’t have a job and is in Australia on a bridging visa, will be required to live at his home on Whitaker Street in Yennora, submit to a nightly curfew and report daily to local police.
He also cannot attempt to contact the alleged victim or go within five kilometres of the Sydney CBD except to attend court and legal meetings.
He’s next due to appear in court on January 15 at the Downing Centre.
Alenezi’s arrest came after several public appeals.
The alleged complainant contacted a friend before going to a hospital and reporting the incident, police said on Wednesday.

Same story over and over. Typical muzlin rapes a woman. Gets caught. Doesn’t speak English. State paid translator will say its part of his culture, he was drunk…how do your order a rum and Coke in backwards culture language or the victim said I love Neanderthals therefore you MUST let him go

You’d think or at least common sense would seem to dictate – we’re bringing this ” individual ” into our country – He should be REQUIRED to at least be independent enough to not need Government assistance – to be able to function on his own.That would indicate at least a working ability to freaking communicate.As well as have a damned marketable skill.This much common sense used to be a factor in us letting people into this country.There were English classes to help people who did’nt speak it.Of course thats when people actually came here who wanted to make a better life for themselves – They wanted to fulfill a dream – Not get as much free stuff as they are allowed to grab..

If I were the woman’s friend or family member, I would hunt down this Muslim scum, find where he lived ( Hopefully with family ) then set his house on fire & if anyone tried to escape, you kill them.
When it comes to court, sorry, I don’t speak Arabic.

In Canada, some time back, a Muslim from Somalia walked into an armed forces recruitment office. He stabbed three soldiers before being apprehended. He told interrogators that Allah had told him to come to Canada and kill infidels. Did the gutless Canadian authorities deport him after him serving a prison sentence? Of course not, as usual they decided that he has ‘mental illness’, stuck him in prison and provided treatment. With absolutely no assurance that he wouldn’t do this again, the moronic authorities decided to allow him to attend Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. I believe the college resisted this, but never mind, the lunatic authorities have decided to grant this ‘mentally ill’ Muslim day passes to walk freely around Hamilton and Toronto – without complete assurance that he won’t again stab people around him!
After the Toronto, Danforth shooting last year when a Muslim, Faisal Hussain, shot 15 people, killing two girls, then shot himself after police – who couldn’t hit a barn door – shot him in the foot, and although during his shooting spree Hussain uttered the words,”Allahu Akba” the Toronto police and other imbecilic authorities tell us that his action had ‘nothing to do with Islam’ and that Hussain was “mentally ill”. Police chief Saunders informed the media that we will ‘probably never know’ what led to these shootings. This being the case Chief Saunders is so clueless, irresponsible and politically correct he is not fit to be a police chief. Further, time after time following Muslim shooting spree we are told that ‘mental illness’ led to this action. The logical conclusion then for reasonably intelligent individuals is that Islam causes mental illness and that this group of people should not be permitted to immigrate to civilized Western countries.
