An Iranian Pop Star Charged with Homosexuality Faces Possible Execution

Mohsen Lorestani, (born Mohsen Pourmast) an extremely popular Iranian-Kurdish singer, has been charged with “corruption on earth” for allegedly discussing having sex with a man over Instagram. If convicted, he can be sentenced to death.
Story continues below advertisementAs first reported by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, Lorestani who began his career as an Islamic eulogizing singer or Maddaah, was originally arrested at his mother’s house in Tehran on March 2nd of this year, and has been imprisoned without charges until this month. The announcement of the charges only came after rumors began spreading on social media that Lorestani had died or been killed in prison.
According to Lorestani’s defense attorney, Seyyed Kazem Hosseini, the singer was charged with “corruption on earth” in Branch Four of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court on October 7th. Neither the singer, nor his attorney, was present at the arraignment hearing, and they were only informed of it afterwards.
Corruption on earth is a broad legal term for offenses, coined by Ruhollah Khomeini based on a quotation from the Koran, that the regime has used to refer to almost anything that it considers “un-Islamic.” At least 38 Iranians were executed for “corruption on earth” last year.
Hosseini later elaborated that the incidents that led to Lorestani’s arrest were private messages on Instagram. “No physical thing occurred,” the lawyer stated. He then explained that by “physical thing,” he meant sexual relations and that he had had the same type of discussions with women as well.
Then saying that everyone has private chats and their own private lives, Hosseini continued, “Some people may have gained access to my client’s account, I don’t know how these chats were discovered and why this has led to Lorestani’s arrest and indictment on a heavy charge. However, Lorestani also had a social media manager, and my client did not always have his cellphone with him.”
Hosseini also noted that several others were involved in the case but said that he could not comment on the status of their cases, only adding that Lorestani’s case had been wrongly linked with another one.
Soon after Hosseini’s press statement, the Revolutionary Court announced the release on bail of a number of dancers who had recently been arrested for making videos on Instagram.
Article 234 of the Khomeiniist regime’s Penal Code defines homosexuality as a capital crime. A classified British diplomatic cable from 2008 that was later disclosed by WikiLeaks revealed that, from 1979 until that year, between 4,000-6,000 homosexuals had been executed in Iran.
Oddly, the first song that Lorestani sang, in 2007, as a crossover from religious cantor to popular music was called Zendan (Prison).

4 years agoUnfortunately that won’t solve the problem. Caring therapy that lets them get to the ROOT of their EMOTIONAL problem that is being acted out SEXUALLY when they are of age will. Frankly I am beginning to believe that those that DEFEND LBGTQ+ are CRUEL people. It’s so much easier to “clutch your pearls” and DEFEND them than try to deal with helping them. But defenders may see themselves; as morally superior, open minded compassionate people, civil rights people – NO THEY AREN’T! They are conflating what is wrong with rights. We should never encourage what is WRONG to be a right or be right. BTW I am not suggesting we murder them. They should also be offered THERAPY as a choice too! instead of banning it.
Many LBGTQ+ people have turned their life around with proper care and have gone on to lead happy heterosexual lives, married with kids and no regrets leaving that tawdry life style choice behind. NO ONE IS BORN THAT WAY. There is NO GAY GENE. ALL of that has been debunked and yet you have people outraged at harm that comes to LBGTQ+ with no promotion of relief from this unnatural behavior that is now being perpetuated on younger and younger ages in school. The left and social liberals need to keep the LIE alive and have more victims of ABUSE – physically, emotionally or lack of a proper role model. LBGTQ+ is all about ABUSE In some form. Why would you want to defend and perpetuate more ABUSE on young kids? Look how people over react when kids are gently spanked? Yet what is completely unnatural gets special rights and being coerced on us? This is AIDING THE DESTRUCTION OF MORALITY! NO country fares well with this. NOT ONE!
How come there is no OUTRAGE on therapy being banned? Why not use that outrage on LBGTQ+ people murdered in a constructive way – offering therapy? Why do you think the suicide rate is high for trannies? Psst it is also high for LBGTQ+ but you are not supposed to know that. Why do you think LBGTQ+ need lots of drugs and/or alcohol to live their lifestyle choice? It is because deep down they KNOW it is not normal or healthy and that is why they over react to criticism of it. Do these outraged people want LGBTQ+ normalized? Or is it easier to NOT CARE ABOUT THEM? View perversion as equal to what is normal?
It takes no effort by godless liberals to use this as an issue against Islam, Christianity and it is also condemned in Judaism. Think about that….. If liberals are successful in the Equality Act, this will VOID and CRIMINALIZE TRUTH about LBGTQ+ and what God thinks about LBGTQ+. and that is what the left and social liberals seem to want. All I can say, is it’s unwise to put yourself at odds with God….Even atheists can see the problems with LBGTQ+ not being normal. You don’t have to be some religious zealot on steroid to get the obvious!
The EQUALITY ACT will take away YOUR religious freedom, harm kids, women, parents, charities, non profits, employers, employees (males in female bathrooms and visa versa etc,) medical professionals forced to provide surgery and agree with it against their conscience, defy solid medical standards etc.. In other words there would be no grounds for any moral objections to LBGTQ+ in any form. It will be routinely taught in school as normal. Won’t pedophiles be thrilled! You will also need to relearn English and speak gibberish to not offend these people. It should NEVER be a crime to DISCRIMINATE against what is RIGHT and what is WRONG and have the GOVERNMENT redefine morality in such a heinous way.
