Failed Democrat Policy Behind Massive Wildfires That Threaten California

  • The Kincade wildfire spread rapidly in Sonoma County, California, overnight.
  • Residents of Geyserville are ordered to evacuate as the fire jumps a highway.
  • Wind gusts in excess of 70 mph were reported near the wildfire.
  • Another fire is spreading in San Bernardino in Southern California.

Photo: As the Kincade Fire torched swaths of Sonoma County, California this morning, a menacing flaming spiral stretched skyward while a nearby bystander looked on.

Long time California GR reader and environmental expert DH reports:

You are looking at ridges outside the town of Geyserville. This is wine country. 10,000 acres in flames and running wild! Whole town now evacuating on the double. Winds 45-60 mph! Gusts recorded to 76 mph – that’s hurricane force!

It’s just morning. Temp has hit 91 F! Mid 90’s expected later pm’s. Wineries can be rebuilt. Precious aged vineyards cannot.

The aircraft are grounded due to high winds. Fire fighters running for their lives. And all because the Dems and the Sierra Club, et al, won’t let the power companies clear the brush and trees from their power lines. A hell made by evil men.

Tell your readers it’s a man-made hell. Someone needs to tell the truth while it’s still half legal to do so.

May God save the grapes, the fire fighters can’t.

Our honorable Governor Newsom is now investigating the oil companies as to why we have the highest gas prices. Would you believe a few months back he jacked up gas taxes, way up, allegedly to pay for road repairs. However, he’s spending the cash on pension fund bailouts for his supporters in the public employee unions!

Atlas Shrugged wasn’t a novel, it wasn’t fiction. It’s real life.

Gee I thought mandatory black outs would solve the wild fire problem. LOL!
They don’t do proper forestry in California so the state will continue to burn up.

California has gone from the golden state to Calizuela in no time flat. 6 dollar a gallon gas, rolling blackouts, homeless taking over and crapping in the streets, plague and typhiod rampant, rats everywhere what a place.

It’s only a “failed policy” if it fails to make the friends of the Party in power richer and fails to push California farther down the road to socialism.

Moron Gov. Gavin Newsome put PG&E into bankruptcy, blaming it for billions in wildfire losses last year without any proof that the utility was even at fault, much less negligent.
Of course, PG&E will pass on the costs to ratepayers, whose bills will triple or quadruple in the next few years, and then Newsome will say, “See, we told you, it’s Climate Change!”
Meanwhile, PG&E and now Southern California Edison have made the only rational decision Newsome has left them with, “Planned Power Outages,” and millions of wasted refrigerators of food — whenever the wind blows.
Now he’s on the media stating without any apparent awareness that his socialist cop-out forced this insane new blackout regime. It’s not going to make fleeing fires any easier and criminals and looters are going to love it!
Gavin Newsome is a bigger idiot than Schwarzenegger.
By comparison, Jerry Brown was a very reasonable man.

It’s so true.
Jerry Brown in comparison is a “reasonable man” and he was a nutter too.

San Diego gas and electric is now shutting off power too. It’s insane, it’s like were going back to the 19th century.

Thanks DH! Excellent report. Enviro-communism is not evidence-based science, It’s just silly emotional gibberish. California was never ‘pristine’ and has always had large fires, and they are necessary to create the present-day landscape.

Chaparral MUST have small fires sweeping through it, or it becomes choked with undergrowth, and new growth and wildlife dies off. Environmental managers have been warning about this for decades, pooh-poohed by the Enviro-communists.

Forests also need renewal, or dead-fall builds up, and when fires do start, they are too hot, they go right down to ground level, and even big trees die. With controlled burns and careful logging, most fires are ‘topping fires’ that jump across evergreen treetops, leaving the ground level plants and animals alone, and enabling renewed growth in the surviving trees. And animal life NEEDS clearings and open spaces. The grasses in cleared cut lines along power lines provide valuable bird seed, and pasturage for ungulates and rodents. Most old forests have little wildlife.

The problem is emotional. People falsely believe that forests and chaparral are ‘pristine’, eternal, and unchanging. That has never been true, about any wild habitat. Some chaparral plant seeds will not sprout until fire bursts the seed pods open.

They’re shutting off power all over Californication to stop wildfires. In my area it’s practically impossible to find home generators because they’re all sold out and being stolen when not secured.
This state is a right mess. Let it burn… All I can think of now is getting the hell out of this cesspit before it really breaks down.
Anyone notice how the Disqus symbol is the same one used by the Dem0ratic party?

Tell it to the 80 million people slaughtered by your fellow Communist atheists in the 20th century.

Ayn Rand was the farthest philosophy from communism. She supported the rights of the individual against that of the state.

Communism is an explicitly atheist creed and they continue to persecute Christians right now — in N. Korea.

The atheist George Bernard Shaw advocated the extermination of unbelievers in atheism — and he was no Communist.

Nature is clearing things when man won’t take responsibility for it…
California is done for.. politically, socially, environmentally, culturally,… you get the picture.
A perfect example of what occurs when PC and ‘green’ policies rule. They destroy…

Should b some happy jihadists around, getting their virgins for sure by following the commands of the imams to burn the kuffars out. To start fires in windy conditions on the edge of towns.

There isn’t anything socialist about PG&E’s ripoff of CA. Make it a public utility.

Yes, everything the government runs works so well.

Not everything – just some things. You know, public utility things. And they don’t have to run it, so long as they regulate it – which they neglected to do.

If you want to see Atlas Shrugging, take a look at all the refugees fleeing California for other states. Three households on my street this month told me they are planning to bail out. One family is thinking Texas, another Tennessee, another Oaklahoma. That’s just in a four house long stretch on my street. Here is a snap shot of what the winds and fires are doing: My son’s friend Tristan, counting this weekend, will have lost about 7 days of work due to his store being closed. The store has been hit hard with lost sales. He won’t be going to the movies for awhile, or buying a pizza or a lunch out. And so the dominos topple over. With lost wages he is all but grounded now. You could say that one of the main side effects of socialism is boredom, day after day of boredom. At night, Grass Valley and Nevada City look like an aerial photo of North Korea. Hardly any lights are on. It goes with having a one party state. The lights being out reminds me of a scene in Atlas Shrugged when the lights of New York City go out.
