The Empire of Fear

18

Muslim and non-Muslims often tell us that Muslims hate the West for its decadence, its immorality, its lasciviousness, which they contrast unfavorably with the supposed morality and uprightness of the Islamic world. Often this boils down to a Muslim critique of Western “freedom,” which they claim is no freedom at all, but slavery to one’s passions and desires.

In Muslim countries, they aren’t thus enslaved; they’re free, free, free. Thus we saw last week the Sharia authorities in Nigeria’s Kano State felt free to destroy 196,400 bottles of beer. Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje explained: “In Islam, alcohol is strongly forbidden. Our Islamic Scholars, religious and community leaders should join hands together in the crusade [sic!] against such social vices.”

Ganduje, like the temperance crusaders of old in the United States, apparently believes that people can’t be trusted to do the right thing of their own accord, and so the cause of temptation simply must be taken away from them.

Story continues below advertisement

We also saw last week what happens if the cause of temptation is not taken away. Jihadis entered the village of Mbau in Mozambique and came upon a group of young people who were drinking alcohol; they murdered ten of them. The perpetrators didn’t notice the incongruity of committing a major evil in order to stop the commission of a minor vice; they believed that Allah was going to punish these miscreants by their hands, as the Qur’an says. ‎

This is not actually freedom, or virtue. It’s slavery to fear and terror.

The former Mufti of Australia, Sheikh Taj al-Din al-Hilali, once complained that “Australian law guarantees freedoms up to a crazy level.” Yet genuine freedom is an indispensable prerequisite for any cultivation of real virtue. Even the post-Christian West makes it more possible to be virtuous than the apparently much more straitlaced Islamic world. With its stonings, amputations, death penalties for an array of offenses including apostasy, Islam has created not a framework in which people can become genuinely good, but an empire of fear. People don’t dare step out of line, not out of an authentic understanding that the path of moral and ethical uprightness is preferable to the alternative, much less out of love for God or a real desire to please him, but because they are afraid of what would happen to them if they did depart from Islam’s vision of morality.

Certainly the same critique can be leveled to some degree against societies that were more Christian than our present one, and this is not to say that society has no right or responsibility to legislate against immoral activity. Still, were people unable to choose to do evil, their choosing of the good would not be a manifestation of virtue, but merely of fear and the power of coercion. Those who have no choice but to be good demonstrate nothing about whether their beliefs enable or inspire them to choose the good when they could just as easily not do so.

Islam does not see virtue this way. Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini once thundered: “Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! The sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for the Holy Warriors!”

Oddly enough, something quite similar to Western “permissiveness” is already written into Islamic law, albeit with a fig leaf of morality over it. In Islamic law we see circumstances permitting lying (cf. Muhammad’s dictum “war is deceit”), stealing (under the guise of the lawful seizure of the property of the victims of jihad, and the collection of the poll tax — jizya — from the subjugated Jews and Christians), rape (understood as the lawful sexual enslavement of infidel women captured in jihad warfare), and murder (if the victim is a non-Muslim who is understood to be at war with Islam, or someone who has simply been accused of “blaspheming” Islam or Muhammad).

These outrages, and others like them, blunt Islam’s moral critique of the West and should deter American social conservatives from seeing “conservative Muslims,” in Dinesh D’Souza’s phrase that has come to be taken for granted as referring to young Republicans with hats and beards, as potential allies in the culture wars. They also highlight how radically different Islamic law is from the core values and principles of American society.

However, since “war is deceit,” as Muhammad said, the Islamic propaganda machine, with the willing help of the establishment media, will continue to obscure these vital truths for most Americans. Nonetheless, as Islam continues to expand its presence in the U.S., the horrors of Sharia and the Empire of Fear it creates will eventually become obvious here – although probably only when it is too late.

Read – “Islam is Fear” at; https://islamsfatalflaw.blogspot.com/2009/01/why-islam-is-different.html

Here is the beginning.

Would you wear a T-shirt with a Mohammad cartoon printed on it?

You might in Montana. Don’t try it in Mecca.

Why?

Because, Islam trains a small number of its most devout believers it’s OK to kill. And Islamic killers have been trained to kill anyone who insults Allah and/or Mohammad.

In Montana you’d have a good chance none of these Islamic killers would see you.

In Mecca you wouldn’t last five minutes. One of Islam’s killers would come from out of nowhere and kill you. It is that simple.

You don’t believe me? Ask any Muslim!

Is there some coincidence that this verse appears in Revelation, Chapter 20, verse 4?
“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” Is this a coincidence? Of the 15 nations that will come against ISRAEL 14 are Muslim(funny how they are historically called Arab, Turk and so on) with one Russia, 40% Muslim in its military. 25 years ago a friend of mine suggested this pointed to Islam.

In prophecy it is the MUSLIM countries specifically pointed out as Israel’s enemies. For example, Persia is present day Iran. Russia has a growing Muslim problem… Europe definitely has a Muslim problem…. Islam is a spreading global disease. It is curious and all you said is true! Someday we will have all the answers.

It is also interesting that many Muslims deviate in recognizing Ishmael over Isaac. I guess an illegitimate “religion” would side with the illegitimate son. Jews and Christians recognize Isaac as the legitimate son of Abraham and the superior blessed one. Yet their Quran refers to Isaac more often then Ishmael..The Quran is full of contradictions and disinformation.

Excellent observation. The Muslims fail to know that Issac was the Child of Promise not Ishmael.
When we hear that Islam is an “Abrahamic Religion” it is just one more deception. Abraham knew nothing of it. I’ve joked with some people that claim to be Christians that Gabriel must have had Alzheimer Disease. In Luke 1:26-35 he described “that holy thing” she would give birth to as the Son of G-d while how many years later did he tell Muhammad another story? Yet the Shia claim He’ll return with the Mahti and “break the cross”? One so-called Christian actually saif he thought Gabriel and Lucifer one in the same! The Muslims and Morons both attack the Bible.

Mormons claim to believe in the Bible but in the next breath they direct you to the
Book of Mormon,
the Book of Doctrine and Covenants and the
Pearl of Great Price.
that add and contradict the Bible. Muslims and Mormons share polygamy and a paradise of orgies in eternity. Both are man made “religions” appealing to the carnal minded.

When Christianity reformed it’s religion from Loving Jesus to being
“The Religion of the Maniacal Hatred of wine and any other Alcohol” everything
started to fall apart.
Test it – Bring up alcohol while visiting with Christian friends or at a
Bible study and watch how many “Alcohol tangents” the conversation
goes off and into all directions. Versus bring up Jesus and see how fast the
conversation goes to other things.
This is the issue where Christians (of the foolish variety) see a connection
with Islam. The over-hyped self deception about the evils of alcohol is
what deludes many into believing Christianity has something in common with
Islam.
To the MUSLIM mind set it is easy to decry that the mere
receipt of an Alcohol advertisement is a violation of Sharia Law and therefore
punishable by Islam’s adherents.
Since 911 Any non-Muslim CEO or Politician has heard the truth from his
security team that he and or his family can be killed by Muslims anywhere in
the world for any Islamic pretense and likely not be caught. The threat is
re-in-forced, especially when it is known that the killers don’t mind dying in
the attacks on infidel non-Muslims.
That is a powerful incentive to accommodate and appease any Islamic demands at
the corporate or governmental levels.

At the wedding in Cana, Jesus didn’t turn the water into grape juice to celebrate a wedding!
In John chapter 2, the Greek word translated “wine” is oinos, which was the common Greek word for normal wine, wine that was fermented/alcoholic. It is the same word that is used in Ephesians 5:18, “…do not get drunk on wine…” Obviously, getting drunk from drinking wine requires the presence of alcohol. Paul instructed Timothy to drink some wine to settle his stomach, 1Timothy 5:23. It’s the abuse, drunkenness and addiction that is discouraged – (Ephesians 5:18; Proverbs 23:29-35; 1 Corinthians 6:12; 2 Peter 2:19). If you are around someone that is an alcoholic, then it is best to refrain.

The Bible clarifies things through other verses:
Ecclesiastes 9:7 instructs, “Drink your wine with a merry heart.”
Psalm 104:14-15 states that God gives wine “that makes glad the heart of men.”
Amos 9:14 discusses drinking wine from your own vineyard as a sign of God’s blessing.
Isaiah 55:1 encourages, “Yes, come buy wine and milk…” alcohol itself is not inherently sinful.

It seems that some people like to add rigid legalese to maybe curry favor instead of enjoying the freedom you have. What is discouraged are the thoughts and actions that bring about nothing good.

Consider this: In both I Corr. 3 and 6 Paul says your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Alcohol consumption in ANY amount kills brain cells. In John 10:10 Jesus said: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. So, does the killing of brain cells with alcohol constitute a more abundant life? The “wine Jesus produced at Cana was non-alcoholic. Proverbs 20:1 is helpful.

But the drinking of wine is part of the Passover service?

nag2
nag2

That is possible. Both the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud state that unfermented wine is optional. However, if one looks at the symbolism of unleavened bread – leaven represents sin – and fermentation also represents sin. Passover was a service celebrating Israels salvation from Egypt/sin. In the Bible Egypt represents sin. Can you see how inappropriate the use of fermented wine is for this purpose? Just because man may have done so doesn’t make it right to do considering what it represents.
