Brexit: The Court vs. the Queen

98

The United Kingdom’s high court has dealt a stunning blow to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, ruling Tuesday that his five-week suspension of Parliament amid a debate over Brexit was illegal.

Watching the UK circle the drain is like watching a man put a gun to his mouth and pull the trigger.

Brexit: The Court vs. the Queen

Editorial of The New York Sun | September 24, 2019

Story continues below advertisement

Britain’s Supreme Court began its judgment recalling Parliament by claiming it wasn’t about Brexit. The question, said the court president, Baroness Hale, was just about whether Prime Minister Johnson’s request to Elizabeth II that Parliament should be prorogued was lawful. Not, the judge averred, “about when and on what terms the United Kingdom is to leave the European Union.”

That strikes us as unconvincing. It’s like saying — to pick a similar absurdity — that our Civil War was merely about states rights and had nothing to do with slavery. Of course it was about slavery. And of course the case that just rocked Britain is about leaving the European Union. If Baroness Hale believes otherwise, she might like to buy a lovely bridge in Brooklyn.

Of course this is about Brexit. That is why the Remainers of both parties are so jubilant after the decision. It’s why Labor is cheering. And why, as London’s Sun put it, “gloating EU bosses” are reacting to the court’s ruling with “glee.” And why one of Europe’s leading opponents of British independence, Guy Verhofstadt, is calling the ruling “one big relief in the Brexit saga.”

Then again, too, the business about how this isn’t about Brexit isn’t the only flaw in the Court’s opinion. There is also its focus on Prime Minister Johnson. The court reckons his request to Her Majesty to prorogue Parliament was unlawful. What does that make Her Majesty — chopped liver? She’s the one who approved proroguing the pestiferous parliament.

After all, if Mr. Johnson could have prorogued Parliament himself, he wouldn’t have sent the matter to the Queen. So the court is challenging the Queen, even if it shies away from taking her on directly — if it even has the power to overrule a royal assent. In any event, millions of Britons who voted for independence for their country know that Queen Elizabeth is with them in this fight.

That was clear during the 2016 referendum itself, when the London Sun broke the story that Her Majesty backed Brexit. The Sun put its headline — “Queen Backs Brexit” — all over its front page. The palace tried to deny the story at the time. It was self-evidently true, though; why would any monarch not favor his or her own independence? We called it “Elizabeth’s Finest Hour.”

Right or wrong, it looks like Parliament will be back as early as tomorrow trying to figure out how to defeat the vote of the people that was called by the parliament itself. Mr. Johnson’s remarks in New York suggest he has no plans to quit; we hope he stays with the fight. The betting is that it will end up in a general election, where the fate of Britain’s independence will be decided.

It is strange that now instead of Charles I vs parliament, we have Elizabeth II vs parliament if the above means anything. The former conflict was won by the people as that was whom the parliament then truly represented. Now we can but hope that it is the parliament who no longer represent anyone but the globalists are the ones who are utterly defeated with all of the traitors gaoled as well if not worse

Is that supposed to be a positive quote from the Commie Pope? He isn’t fit to have wiped the backside of Karol Jozef Wojtyla, a truly great man. Indeed John Paul II was instrumental in bringing down the kind of system, the Soviet Union, which this creature promotes.

Thatcher was never the sharp operator that many conservative Brits believe her to be. She decimated our industrial might in a time of financial turmoil instead of mothballing it until the upturn arrived when we could have modernised and improved.
Once we were the workshop of the world and now we barely own any of our own iconic products which are mainly produced in the EU and elsewhere ‘ and thatchers great vision was to turn the mighty Great Britain into a service economy. Her only real achievements were victory in the falklands war and breaking the power of the unions

I think all real Americans, that is those who believe in the founding Documents such as the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the Judeo-Christian principles on which they were founded, want Trump regardless of whether they like his personality or not.

But the communist Leftist and the Globalists (same as Communists though they might not think so) hate Trump because Trump is not advancing the globalist agenda. Unfortunately, these groups do have a large following and these swamp creatures infest the leadership and the enemedia as well as social media.

As for the silence by those who object, it’s clearly unhealthy to stick your head up when the fascist Left think it’s their job to play whack-a-mole and use intimidation to silence opposition. Their attitude isn’t event “majority rule” which they claim to be for, but rather “might makes right”… so they bully physically as well as in the courts. But if these bullies push too far, the rest of us will push back… hard… with our firearms if need be. At least, for now, the Left hasn’t yet abolished our 1st or 2nd Amendment Rights of freedom of expression which includes freedom of association and our right to defend ourselves though the Left and the RINOs and the swamp creatures which includes activist judges are doing their best to remove or limit those rights.

The sad reality is that the British Supreme Court are leftist cucks. Notwithstanding the fact that the majority want to leave, it is an impossible achievement as long as the Courts are self serving, self righteous, globalist Soros ass kissers. And you are right of course when you say the population does not have the guts for it. Yes it was a majority vote for leave, but there will never be a collective action taken to the streets to have freedom lovers force their Government to leave, with violence if they have to. Brits talk the talk, but they do not have the resolve to walk the walk any longer. Nigel will have to be PM before Brexit happens.

The US has a ton of activist judges in all courts. Take the 9th circuit for example, if you want to “resist” the bad orange man, those judges are lined up to do just that.

@Dave Glenn makes a good point… you don’t see Americans actively pushing back against the Left’s push either… though there are a few groups the majority seems silent. Having said that, the 2020 election will really indicate the state of those who object to these Leftists’ plans to remake America.

Sadly, people like my dad reads the LA Times propaganda and believes what he reads. I point out the issues to him but he believes the LA Pravda anyway even though he can’t refute anything I’ve stated.

She’s 93 years old. I don’t know… she seems so mechanical. She goes through the motions but I wonder how much of it is a reflex. She has been Queen for about 65 years. I don’t believe she is as sharp as she used to be. At her age, I doubt she will be fighting any political battles one way or the other. What I am convinced of is when she goes to heaven, the royal family will fall a part. MeGain, the Obama trash Duchess married to Harry shows through her actions of going to a tennis game instead of pleasing the Queen by visiting her on vacation in Scotland, tells me the Queen matters less and less as time goes by. She fully understands the precipice on which her country stands but can not put her cards on the table without endangering the crown.
If she was to declare her wish for Britain’s independence then the royal family would feel the wrath of the many powerful traitors who we see at work wrecking Brexit.
The Queen exists through the good will of the British people and these traitors within would make it their priority to turn the nation against her. This is a real game of thrones.

as much as this article is about Brexit, the analogy:

“That strikes us as unconvincing. It’s like saying — to pick a similar
absurdity — that our Civil War was merely about states rights and had
nothing to do with slavery. Of course it was about slavery.”BS. It wasn’t a similar absurdity at all.

To Southerners outside of the deep south at that time, it was about state’s rights as in Lincoln wanted to take state’s militias against the states will and the Militia Act, go through their territory without said state’s permissions, and keep them from doing what they felt was their Constitution right under the 10th amendment to secede. So please pick another analogy unless you want to divide the country again. Don’t get cocky about throwing the whole “party of Lincoln” thing around. Lincoln violated the Constitution in many ways. He still needed the southern economy to pay for the western expansion. He couldn’t afford to lose that revenue source. So find another analogy.

That being said, regarding the prorogue, once the queen authorized the prorogue, that is that, the judiciary is over stepping itself and if she has any say she should smack them down hard. Johnson and the Queen should be stating “we do not recognize that the court has this authority” and the prorogue should continue.

Marshall Gill

If you don’t claim that the Civil War was all about slavery, it becomes much less of a noble crusade against evil. Indeed, if you don’t stain “States Rights” with human slavery then it becomes a question of why they are so limited and the Federal State so powerful. There is also the whole “Freely joined, freely leave” thingy which doesn’t paint the Union in the most positive light.

So instead of an intellectual question of politics, it becomes a moral question about human slavery. If you don’t love slavery, you must admit that the American Civil War was about the Noble Union, freeing the slaves! The fact that they didn’t free their own slaves until after the war? Something, something, something look over there!

The lead was correct in so far as it really was “all about BREXT”, and those judges hold peoples intelligence in contempt when they dance around the head of a legal pin holding hands as they have.

The seditious Gina Miller is to blame, her private intervention brought that case, she or her husband funded it and the speaker in the house of treason and denial plays his part as well. The Queen cares for her crown, she signed away our rights countless time at the behest of the political class over the last forty five years over this issue of Europe with little apparent trouble – until now.

As I wrote over a month ago, this is a spectacle of a very “British” coup and we who voted to leave on the only two options granted by Parliament to be on the ballot paper are justified in feeling robbed of both our democratic rights to leave and an election to throw out those usurpers of authority .

I think I know how the settlers in America felt when their requests fell upon deaf Parliamentary ears as well, but this time we who love our country and yearn for our stolen liberty to be returned are surrounded by enemies wherever we look
,
These are the blackest days I can remember in my three score years and ten.

We are back to the question of who is the puppet master and who is the puppet.
tony blair called all out war against saddam hussain for having weapons of mass destruction. He did not have those weapons. Was tony blair sued or imprisoned, no, he is now a multi millionaire. How does that happen to a failed labour prime minister. Some say he was being paid to do someone elses dirty work because he was caught cottaging as a student.
Then tony blair allowed foot and mouth to travel to the South West of England when animal movement should have been stopped 3 days before.
Again no one sued tony blair.
Tommy Robinson reports on muslim rape gangs and gets sent to prison.
But this time the same person geoffrey cox qc mp, attourney general said it was not unlawfull to prorogue parliament was the same person who said it was in the public interest to imprison an innocent journalist tommy Robinson.
So who is the puppet master controlling out UK high court.

The British High Court is simply another tool of the Globalists. It’s an enemy of the people.

WOW!
I hope you notice this question. If not, I’ll ask it another time. Is it true the House of Lords is generational? I have been told that and find it hard to believe. If they held traditional views that would be great but they don’t.

It used to be hereditary felix in large part but people are elevated there now for political advantage or for being loyal public or party servants of long standing. Blair changed things, I think I’m right in saying the hereditary peers cannot vote now, but on this I’m not sure. 150 years ago the place had Tories and Whigs {Liberals} only. The so called “life peers” {or party hacks} are just there for life, they cannot hand on their title.

The upper house serves like your senate, as a chamber for scrutiny of government business and proposals. Once upon a time the Lords sitting there were expected to raise forces at their own expense and fight for King and country so it made sense to give them a role in organising the country.

History in Short.
The New Rome was Constantinople now Istanbul

The Vatican Rome could not have a leading Rome at Constantinople so we had The Fourth Crusade, where Catholic Crusaders sent out by Pope Innonocent III to sack, rape and kill those in Constantinope, and Rome controlled Constantinople and the Vatican power returned to Rome.

Behind the Club of Rome is the Vatican, in short the EU

The Queen, with 67 years experience, is probably the most informed person on constitutional matters – she would not agree to a Prorogation if she thought it was ‘iffy’. Usually these things are decided by precedence, but the Supreme Court decided on vague talk of injustice and democracy. I suppose they expect any future Prime Minister to apply to them before Proroguing Parliament.

I am not well informed on how the UK government works.
Can the Queen step in and clarify and smack the Supreme Court down?
Or would that be improper?

She’s just the head of state felix, she’s supposed to be impartial. As far as anyone with a pulse knows she has no power to smack anyone down let alone that court of Quislings. The politicians let her keep some of her money {big ears too} and by doing as she’s told she keeps her crown, titles and great houses.

No, she would be doing what they did, operating ouside her sphere. I must say I would love her to appear on TV and tell everyone that she knows when to prorogue and when not to, and that she’s tired of waiting for Brexit.

The Remainers have too much invested in the EU to let it go. They will never give up, never surrender and never, ever shut up. They are pushing forward and ignoring the ‘setback’. The Globalists in the US are the same. They, too, are ignoring the setbacks that the people have dealt them and are pressing forward. They may have to be shot in the end. Anything short of that can be ignored or re-spun using their stranglehold on the media.

The British Judges could have been easily bought (literally) there is no real vetting about their political affiliations so long as they are leftists, academics, lacking experience in private business, lacking experience in court, and are Politically correct. they get the Job. Another election should sweep out the remainers so they wil try desperately to avoid an election.

The Queen realizes that the grand children of the Nazi Fascists are doing what Mr. Churchill warned her about. Conquering Britain for within. The capitulation of Ireland to the EU doesn’t matter they already supported the Nazis in WWII
