Donald Trump’s Approval Rating Surpasses Obama’s, Not Just on Rasmussen Reports

By Jessica Kwong, Newsweek, September 19, 2019:

President Donald Trump’s job approval rating this week averaged across major polls surpassed that of his predecessor President Barack Obama at the same time eight years ago, giving some actual good news to Trump who is known to cite only conservative-leaning polls to bolster his image.

Trump’s approval rating on Wednesday was 44.3 percent, according to a Real Clear Politics average of more than a half-dozen major polls. That is higher than Obama’s average approval rating of 43.9 percent on September 18, 2011, by the same measure.

The 45th president’s average approval rating surpassed that of his predecessor on Monday and stayed on top for the next two days. Trump’s average approval rating on Monday was 44.1 percent compared to Obama’s 43.9 percent on September 16, 2011, and 44 percent on Tuesday compared to Obama’s 43.8 percent on September 17, 2011.

Here is a seven-day look at average approval ratings for Trump in 2019 and Obama in 2011:

September 18: Trump 44.3 percent vs. Obama 43.9 percent
September 17: Trump 44 percent vs. Obama 43.8 percent
September 16: Trump 44.1 percent vs. Obama 43.9 percent
September 15: Trump 43.9 percent vs. Obama 44 percent
September 14: Trump 43.8 percent vs. Obama 44 percent
September 13: Trump 43.3 percent vs. Obama 43.9 percent
September 12: Trump 43.4 percent vs. Obama 43.7 percent
September 11: Trump 43.1 percent vs. Obama 43.3 percent

Trump has not tweeted this week about achieving a higher average approval than Obama, whom he has continued to criticize. But on Monday, the day he came out ahead of Obama, Trump tweeted an image of himself with “50% APPROVAL RATING” attributed to the conservative Rasmussen Reports, which consistently rates him higher than other major polls.

“Thank you, working hard!” Trump tweeted, along with the hashtag #KAG2020 which stands for his reelection campaign slogan, “Keep America Great.”

It is not clear whether Trump is aware he has had a Real Clear Politics higher average approval rating than Obama for the past three days.

Conservative content websites on Tuesday reported on Trump’s better ratings based on Rasmussen Reports, which indicated a wider gap between the presidents’ numbers. Conservative Fighters cited Trump’s 50 percent approval rating by Rasmussen Reports on Monday and noted that Obama on September 16, 2011, was four points lower at 46 percent, according to the poll.

A guest author for The Political Insider on Tuesday wrote that “the highly respected Rasmussen poll revealed that the president is actually at his highest point in two years” and that “perhaps even more significant,” Trump had topped Obama.

He is better than Obama but we’re at war and Trump is weak, I’d rather have someone like John Bolton as president, I hope he decides to run in the future. I think Ted Cruz would’ve been stronger as well.

It wasn’t a warning. Iran declared war on Saudi Arabia. As you know, Saudi Arabia’s oil refineries were stuck. Some people are hooked on war….and look for any excuse to be “tough”.

It’s up to Saudi Arabia to defend itself UNLESS you want to go back to the failed Bolton/Bush foreign policy of fighting Muslim wars for “nation building” and giving them a democracy and freedom that they do NOT want.

As people begin to wake up and smell the dog sh*t, the approval gap between Trump and the Halfrican will grow wider.

It’s called P.R.. The better you are at it, the more you will get PAID to destroy the opponent by any means necessary, mostly without any truth to it.

One good thing about justice is that you have to PROVE what you have claimed. The liberals cannot prove that Trump has done anything wrong. AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHY I AM VOTING FOR HIM, AGAIN, along with all the POSITIVES things he has done for our GREAT, GREAT, GODLY, CONSTITUTIONAL COUNTRY.

I think both polls are wrong.. Obama’s was never really that high; and Trump’s is higher than they say it is..

It all depends on where they do the polling and how they ask the question..

Rasmussen was as dead wrong about the last election as were all the others…except one.
That poll was Professor Helmut Norpoth of Stony Brook University. For years he developed algorithms that predicted elections…..saw him on Lou Dobbs….he said Trump would win with a 93 to 95% accuracy of his prediction. He was dead right.
Forget Rasmussen, Nate Silver, and all the rest….most polls are designed to get the outcome they want…..I never take them anymore…nor do I believe them.

Tell the WISE people something we don’t already know.
Common Sense is now a super power and THIS is why Trump will win again.
The more you disparage a person, the more a person will look into WHY and then find the truth. THAT WOULD BE A WISE PERSON.

The MSM hs so degenerated that it must henceforth be referred to as the DFM or dog fart media. If Trump has an approval rating of 44.5% you can be certain the true figure is well over 50%. This achieved after 24/7/365 of blatant lies, fake news, distortions hurled at Trump daily. The Commiecrats are heading into a maelstrom in 2020. Their leading candidate is suffering from dementia while the rest are to the left of Stalin and Mao. The Commiecrats can’t win 2020 but they can sure steal it. The success of the California “ballot harvesting” is being replicated throughout the US and you can be certain that every one of the 40 million illegals will be casting a vote in 2020 and it won’t be for Trump. Be prepared for civil war erupting after November 2020 as we will have to rise up and stop the Commiecrats from stealing the election.

Yep, Do the math! 45 > 44! Me thinks some folks are exercising their brain more? Maybe it’s all the great work President Trump is doing, for free, for the USA? Perhaps just a general realization the the Democrat side seems to be bat guano crazy in nearly everything they say?

Yes but Trump’a approval rating should be much higher than Obama because he’s white so he has a built-in advantage. It’s like starting a race ten yards a head. Poor Obama had to overcome the scourge of racism every day. Let face it, white folks were never going to appreciate Obama’s genius.
All kidding aside, Obama never endured 98% of the vilification the MSM has leveled at Trump. When you factor that in to the survey results, its astonishing how strong Trumps polling numbers are. It shows how ineffective the MSM media has been. While it successfully riles up folks that already hate Trump, it actually galvanizes Trump supporters.

the polls reflect the turning point of our nation. How many people are walking away from the dem party. It is just not an approval rating but a shift in the countries consciousness. People are indeed finally waking up. More people are opting for independent or third parties. Tired of RINO’s as well. The country is stared to think for itself and walk away from being spoon=fed. Long time coming.
