- Date announcement was included in a 10-page trial scheduling order that also said that prosecutors had until October 1 to get material to defense teams
- Cohen’s announcement marks the first time that a trial judge in the case actually established a date
- Prosecutors had tried to get the ball rolling with two previous judges after the 2012 arraignment of the five men
A 2021 date has been established for the death-penalty trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other men charged as the masterminds behind the September 11 attack in New York City.

Khalid Sheikh (also spelled as Shaikh) Mohammed is said to be the architect behind the plot that killed 2,976 in New York City, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.
Cohen set the date so that a military jury could be selected, the New York Times reports. The selection process is said to take months, with various military personnel having to be flown in by groups to the base.

Trial Date Set For Men Charged With 9/11 Attacks

The trial for five men charged with planning the September 11 attacks that left almost 3,000 people dead in three cities across the U.S. has been set for Jan. 11, 2021.
Col. W. Shane Cohen, an Air Force judge, set the trial date Friday, the New York Times reported. Five men were arrested in 2012 and charged with the death penalty following plane attacks in New York, Washington and a Pennsylvania field that killed 2,976 people on September 11, 2001.
Prosecutors have been asking for a trial date to be set since 2012, but this is the first time a trial judge has set a date, the NYT reported. It is unclear why a date was only set now.
Two planes hit the World Trade Center (WTC) in Manhattan after terrorists hijacked an American Airlines and United Airlines flight. Both of the towers at the trade center were hit and collapsed. A third American Airlines hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon the same morning, and passengers and crew managed to overtake hijackers on a fourth plane. That plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania, killing 40 on board.
The attacks began at 8:46 a.m. when the north tower of the WTC was hit. The second plane hit the south tower at 9:03 a.m., and the Pentagon was hit at 9:37 a.m. The fourth plane crashed at 10:03 a.m, CNN reported.
Osama bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda, took responsibility for the attacks, according to a tape released by the government.
The five men being prosecuted were arraigned in 2012 at Guantanamo Bay, a military prison in Cuba, the NYT reported.

Now, now, we mustn’t offend the ideology of the perpetually aggrieved! Why, they might go on a world wide rampage. Wouldn’t want that! Better than prosecuting these sub humans, Islam should be outlawed in the US and all Muslims deported back to the hell holes they originally created for themselves. The fact that it has taken twenty years to set a trial date for these five mass-murdering scumbags is outrageous but not surprising. Those of the Left, of course, are apologists for what they call a religion of peace. Those of the Left continue to conjure conspiracy theories, laying the blame on America, Israel, and some, former President George W Bush.
The betrayal of the Left has accelerated since 9/11; now, they are hell-bent on succeeding where 9/11 faltered. Indeed, heinously murdering thousands, but it united the nation, albeit momentarily. Time has handed the Left/Democrats and its conspirators time to ramp-up the hatred for America and its patriotic citizenry. I recall not only Leftists blaming America but, of course, Israel. Their agenda of Jew, Israel hatred has also amplified. Those not of Leftist’s accord of hate-mongering of America, Jews or Israel are the reputed enemy of the state. Islamization has passed the threshold in the EU, Britain, and Canada. The fact that these terrorists are only now facing trial after two decades may confirm these suspicions.

Considering the constant delays, excuses for not setting a trial date for these scum, and the steady infestation of muzzscum into the federal and state govts over the last 20 years, not to mention the general population, it seems to me that the cowardly feds would rather not put them on trial. They might even prefer to secretly release them. Utterly disgraceful!

Agreed. Keep in mind that 9/11 happened st the outset of Bush 43’s administration and hid successor, the “Halfican”, was in office eight years also without a damn bit of action.
Also, remember that Mueller was Director of the FBI during 9/11 attacks, the Boston Marathon bombing, and the Ft. Hood incident.
