The State Medical Board of Ohio has issued a citation to Dr. Lara Kollab that it intends to impose disciplinary action on her – ranging from limiting her license to permanent suspension as well as the potential for fines. (Cleveland Jewish News)
People lose their jobs, their good names, their livelihood over perceived, nonexistent insult to protected classes but this very real danger to people might still practice medicine. This is madness. It’s criminal.

Dr. Lara Kollab requests hearing before State Medical Board of Ohio on anti-Semitic tweets

Kollab is facing potential discipline before the State Medical Board of Ohio following a June 19 investigatory deposition in which she admitted to having authored a series of anti-Semitic tweets beginning in 2011 and ending in 2013.
The tweets were revealed by Canary Mission, which tracks and publicizes anti-Semitic rhetoric on social media.
“This is a very unfortunate set of circumstances,” said Columbus lawyer James M. McGovern, who confirmed his firm is representing Kollab. “And the doctor is doing everything she can to make things right for the people that she has upset or harmed through her comments.”
McGovern, whose firm Graff & McGovern specializes in representing licensees in front of licensure boards, said he could not specify what actions Kollab is taking.
“Those I can’t discuss with you, but I can assure you that there are steps being taken,” he told the Cleveland Jewish News on Aug. 22.
Tessie Pollock, director of communication for the State Medical Board of Ohio, said Kollab’s request for hearing was filed Aug. 7 by McGovern.
On July 10, Dr. Kim Rothermel, secretary of the medical board, sent a certified letter to Kollab’s home in Westlake and to both McGovern and Cleveland lawyer Ziad Tayeh.
The four-page letter detailed several of Kollab’s tweets.
“On or about October 7, 2013, your initial application fee was submitted to Touro Osteopathic Medical School (Touro), which you described in your February 2019 sworn statement as ‘a school deeply rooted in Jewish tradition.’” Rothermel’s letter stated. “At your June 2019 deposition, you admitted that after being accepted Touro, you deleted the anti-Semitic tweets from your Twitter feed. You also acknowledged that if Touro had known of your anti-Semitic tweets they probably would not have admitted you as an osteopathic medical student.”
The letter states that Kollab told Kerns Medical Center in Bakersfield, Calif., she left her Cleveland Clinic residency because of a death in the family.
“You did not disclose that, in fact, you had resigned in lieu of termination due to your discriminatory social media posting,” Rothermel wrote. “On or about December 27, 2018, you sent the following reply message to @canarymission and @WeAreTouro in which you falsely claimed that Canary Mission used a fake account in an effort to frame you. When questioned about this message at our June 2019 deposition, you admitted that the content of your December 27, 2018 message was false and that you knew it was false at the time you authored and posted/tweeted the message. …”
“Although you asserted at your June 2019 deposition that you now feel ashamed of your discriminatory comments, when asked if your tweets reflect good moral character, you admitted they do not.”
Rothermel’s letter outlined possible disciplinary action the medical board might take, which could take the form of limiting, revoking, permanently revoking, suspending, refusing to grant or register or renew or reinstate her “training license/certificate to practice osteopathic medicine and surgery, or to reprimand you or place you on probation…”

In December 2018, Kollab’s LinkedIn said she graduated from the Touro College Of Osteopathic Medicine (Touro) with a D.O. in 2018. She received a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University (JCU) in 2013.
In December 2018, vitals.com listed Kollab as a Medical Resident at The Cleveland Clinic, in Ohio. The address listed for Kollab indicated that she worked at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.
In a January 2, 2019 statement, the Cleveland Clinic said they had fired Kollab in September 2018, “after the clinic was made aware of her social media posts.”
Kollab’s LinkedIn also said that she was a Biology tutor “to high school and college kids in her hometown” since 2013, a Mentor to “1st, 2nd, and 3rd year medical students” since 2015, and a “Big Sister” at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America since 2016.
On October 8, 2017, Kollab said on Facebook she was working at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago as part of her fourth year of medical school.
Kollab is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement and a supporter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). Kollab is also affiliated with the anti-Israel organization Al Awda and with its co-founder, Abbas Hamideh.
Kollab is connected to other social media users, whose feeds are replete with anti-Jewish posts. These connections are detailed at the bottom of this profile.
In March 2018, Kollab used the alias “Elle Kay” on social media, but went by “Lara Kollab” in December 2018.
Threatening Medical Tweets
On January 2, 2012, Kollab tweeted: “hahha ewww.. ill purposely give all the yahood [Jews] the wrong meds…”
On May 4, 2013, Kollab tweeted: “Studying for my med micro final, came across this. Clearly, I pay attention in class and write very useful notes.”
Kollab’s tweet featured a handwritten note that read: “People who support Israel should have their immune cells killed so they can see how it feels to not be able to defend yourself from foreign invaders.”
On November 24, 2012, Kollab tweeted: “Israel, I’m making it my goal in life to expose you to everyone I meet. If I can twist a biology paper to include your crimes, I will do it.”
Calling for Violence Against Jews
On August 28, 2013, Kollab tweeted: “@ShabanSalya Allah yo5od el yahood 3ashan enbattel nettar nroo7 3nd hel wes5een -___- [May Allah take back (end the lives) of the Jews so we stop being forced to go to those unclean ones]”
On March 29, 2013, Kollab tweeted: “Khalid stop starting fala7i vs madani [peasant vs civilized] wars on twitter! roo7o [go] fight with yahood [Jews] instead. Yallah.”
On December 8, 2012, Kollab tweeted: “After repeated failed diplomacy, our aim is to defeat the Zionist state through force.” Kollab was responding to a tweet that said: “Peace won’t come by killing every Zionist. There has to be diplomacy.”
Anti-Semitism

On October 11, 2012, Kollab tweeted: “If I have to write a paper about the holocaust, I’m going to bring palestine into it and my professor better like it.” Moe Hamdan responded: “make sure you mention the fact that ‘The Holocaust’ never happened.”
Kollab then tweeted back: “@MoeHamdan34 I think it did happen, it’s just exaggerated and the victimization of the jews (ignoring the others killed) is overdone.”
On October 9, 2012, Kollab tweeted: “Of course the only prejudice my class focuses on is US racism against African Americans and the Holocaust. Poor Jews. They’re so oppressed.”

Defending Hamas
On July 21, 2014, Kollab tweeted: “Realize that Hamas was created in response to decades of brutal oppression with stated goal of ending that oppression.”
On July 25, 2014, after another Twitter user challenged Kollab’s claim and noted that Hamas’s charter “says their goal is to destroy Israel and all Jews,” Kollab replied: “@OphirEis Actually, stop exploiting the Holocaust to justify killing babies. Hamas says nothing about all Jews. It’s about injustice.”
On July 28, 2014, Kollab tweeted: “It shouldn’t even be big news that Hamas’ leader said that. Hamas exists bc of occupation. Hamas NEVER mentioned ‘all Jews worldwide’”
Articles 22 and 32 of the Hamas charter attacked Judaism and Zionism on a global basis.
Article 28 claims: “Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge Islam and the Moslem people. ‘May the cowards never sleep.’”

Expressing Support for Terrorists
On August 29, 2017, Kollab tweeted: “This girl literally calls herself young kanafani imagine thinking you’re that revolutionary while posting selfies holy s**t.”
On December 5, 2013, Kollab tweeted twice in praise of terrorist Ghassan Kanafani.
Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years.
Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.
On March 8, 2013, Kollab tweeted: “My parents met during a political protest which my mom was heading. Palestinian women are even part of the armed resistance.”
On February 14, 2013, Kollab tweeted: “University students in Nablus in solidarity with Palestinian hunger strikers. #SamerIssawi.” The tweet featured a photo of a crowd surrounding a giant Palestinian flag.
Samer Issawi is a member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) who received a 26 year prison sentence in 2002. During the second intifada, Issawi manufactured and distributed pipe bombs and, in several incidents, fired indiscriminately on Israeli civilian vehicles.
On January 26, 2013, Kollab tweeted: “#Free Samer.” The tweet featured a quote by Samer Issawi.
On January 22, 2013, Kollab tweeted: “Jihad Al-Obeidi’s first bite of knafa Nabulsiyeh after being in occupation prison for 25 years. :’)”
The tweet featured a photo of Jihad Al-Obeidi eating Knafa. Obeidi was charged in 1988 for affiliation with the PFLP and accused of trying to kill Israeli soldiers.
On June 3, 2012, Kollab tweeted: “the fact that an Israeli soldier once told me that nablus is a ‘terrorist factory’ makes me so proud :’)”
On February 21, 2012, Kollab tweeted: “victory for #palestine today. our voices were heard and our demands met. khader adnan will be free and so will falasteen inshallah :)”
On February 19, 2012, Kollab tweeted: “#KhaderAdnan is dying so we can live. #Palestine #KhaderExists.”
Khader Adnan is a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist organization. A 2007 YouTube video showed Adnan praising and encouraging suicide bombings: “Who among you will carry the next explosive belt? Who among you will fire the next bullets? Who among you will have his body parts blown all over?”
Comparing Israel to Nazi Germany
On October 20, 2013, Kollab tweeted: “Tell me what makes Israel’s ‘we must remain a Jewish state’ obsession any less disturbing than Hitler’s obsession with a pure white nation.”
On May 9, 2013, Kollab tweeted one day earlier: “Adidas, Puma, and Hugo Boss were founded by Nazis. They made cool stuff so they couldn’t possibly be evil. #IfTheWorldFollowedZionistLogic.”

The photo Kollab tweeted featured a caption mocking the grief of Hadassi’s mourners, that read: “And after I shot his mother he threw a rock at me.” Kollab commented: “The struggle is too real out here.”

On November 21, 2012, Kollab tweeted a photo from an Al-Awda protest in Cleveland against Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense (OPD) against Hamas and wrote: “Our protest for #Gaza today in Cleveland.”
On November 20, 2012, Kollab tweeted: “Protest tomorrow in Cleveland at Public Square, 4 pm in solidarity with #Gaza ! Be there or be square [ie. complicit to israeli war crimes].”
OPD was launched to stop Hamas rocket attacks from Gaza on Israeli civilians. From November 14 to November 21, 2012, Palestinian terrorist groups fired more than 1,506 rockets at Israel. The majority of those rockets struck Israel, damaging homes, schools and other civilian areas.
Human Rights Watch noted: “Palestinian armed groups made clear in their statements that harming civilians was their aim.”
Al Awda co-founder, Abbas Hamideh, led chants at the rally screaming [00:00:23]: “When people are occupied, resistance is justified” [00:01:39] and [00:03:36] “Israel is a terrorist state!” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Hamideh has confirmed this chant is a call to eliminate Israel.

On October 11, 2012, when Kollab tweeted: “If I have to write a paper about the holocaust, I’m going to bring palestine into it and my professor better like it,” Hamdan responded: “@ellekay_ make sure you mention the fact that ‘The Holocaust’ never happened.”
Kollab has interacted with Amal Ali who has called for an intifada and defended Hamas.
On November 14, 2012, Ali tweeted: “There better be a third #Intifada coming out of the ashes of this disgusting invasion of #Gaza. If not, I’ll go start it myself. #Palestine.”
Kollab has interacted with Mohammed Adil Kaouadji, who has spread anti-Semitism on Twitter.On June 10, 2015, Kaouadji tweeted: “Reddit is owned by Advance Publications which is essentially owned by a Jewish family. Spewing propaganda and harassing Muslims is a motto.”
Kollab has interacted for years on Twitter with Al Awda co-founder Abbas Hamideh, known for spreading anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel, denying Jewish history and supporting terrorism.
On October 10, 2016, Hamideh tweeted: “@ikhras you’re anti Semitic according to non Semitic shlomos from Poland
.”
Hamideh was responding to another tweet praising a Palestinian terrorist for killing two and injuring six in a shooting at a Jerusalem light rail train station.
BDS
The BDS movement was founded in 2005 by Omar Barghouti and asserts that it “works to end international support for Israel’s oppression of Palestinians and pressure Israel to comply with international law.”
BDS initiatives include compelling institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, academic boycotts, anti-Israel rallies and protests.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, backed by university anti-Israel affiliates, student governments have brought to vote on some form of boycott of — or divestment from — Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities. These resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. In 2013, when the student government of the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats and the spitting on a student wearing a Star of David necklace. As a result, the student government chose to vote via a “secret ballot” in order to ensure its members’ safety.

Oh, Liatris, this is Off topic, but remember maybe two weeks ago, another thread, where the climate change discussion came up and I referred to the criminal behavior of such as Michael Mann, the hockey stick professor who sued someone who called him out? Well he lost his lawsuit and has to pay the legal fees for bringing up the suit.

Violating her oath as a physician is not the same a criminal act. Please make appropriate distinctions. As I’ve remarked on this thread, I think she should not be granted a license to practice medicine in the USA. Perhaps Pakistan would accept her.
More than that, she was not a physician when she made some (all?) of the most damning comments. You cannot claim she violated her oath if she was not a physician when she said it.
No, it is not clear to me that anything she said is criminal in a legal sense. What do you think was? Here is perhaps the closest fit:

But again, she was not a physician when she made that stupid, hateful comment (not even in medical school, I think). If you think I am wrong, please point to the appropriate article in the Ohio criminal code where you think a criminal violation occurred.

Actually, the U.S. Constitution nullifies Islam. Islam and Sharia Law are inextricably linked. Where one is the other goes. Fact is that Islam/Sharia Law is therefore “Repugnant to the Constitution and is VOID”. “A law that is repugnant to the Constitution is void”-Martbury v Madison, USSCt. (1803). Under this legal concept Islam/Sharia Law has NO First Amendment protection whatsoever.

Maybe if she were trying to be a banker. Not…..as a doctor. There is too much risk to the public to ever allow this human filth to ever treat a patient. Period. I tend to hope and believe she will not. Imagine the lawsuits against whomever hires her if there are any deaths. That alone is a big enough issue but I do believe that it is a crime to make such threats, and demonstrate malice aforethought as she did multiple times. As I mentioned, if a jew did such as this, there would be legitimate reasons to take licensure away…. the same goes for her, and I do think it will come to that end.

You are right that if a non-Muslim dr said such things, he or she should and would be banned from practicing medicine, but the rules don’t apply to Muslims, the planet’s most protected group. Muslims manage to get away with anything, and no one wants to challenge CAIR and face the “Islamophobia” accusation. As far as lawsuits go, in many states, you can no longer sue doctors for much.

Imagine if a jewish medical student, graduate, had said, that they would give the wrong meds to any german who came for treatment. It would be rightly seen as criminal by intention and would be grounds for loosing licensure. Imagine if any jewish medical student, graduate, has said they would give the wrong meds to a muslim, or an arab…. they would be rightly seen as criminally motivated, and indeed, the muslim associations would howl for the dismissal and loss of licensure of the doctor, and call for retraining of all jewish doctors about sensitivity and Islamophobia.
Indeed…. a person could be rightly effected by the holocaust and be jewish and have lost all their family in that horror, but it would be criminal to give deadly treatment, that would harm another, even a nazi sympathizer. That would be seen as criminal. But the bozo hate freaks of Islam don’t see it that way and that the lady indeed should be banned from the practice of medicine in the U.S for her words thoughts and intentions. Pamela Geller is a champion of US Constitutionally protected free speech, and most of her criticisms of Lara Tallab are for Tallab’s exercise of her free speech and her antisemetic bent. The Ohio State Medical Board has no business taking any action against Tallab for her Constitutionally protected free speech or expression, no matter how abhorrent.
With that said, the Ohio Medical Board should discipline and revoke Tallab’s medical license for two things within their jurisdiction, namely (1) Tallab’s admission that she purposely gave Jewish patients the wrong medications, and (2) lying to Kerns as to the circumstances that she left the Cleveland Clinic.
The main and only reason why revocation is warranted is giving the wrong meds to Jewish patients. This is the antithesis of the Hippocratic Oath, and warrants immediate and permanent license revocation.
Lying to a prospective employer, on matters not related to substantive credentials to practice medicine, requires discipline, but not revocation of one’s license. But, that coupled with admitting to purposely giving Jewish patients the wrong medication hammers the nail home to revoke her license.

First of all you are confused about the facts. Tallab was not accused of giving anyone the wrong meds. In her tweets Lara Kollab stated she would give Jews the “wrong meds” and that supporters of Israel should have their “immune cells killed.” She did make these statements which may be a violation of the Hippocratic Oath I assume she took. The fact that she has the constitutional right to say and write abhorrent things doesn’t mean this conduct can’t be used to determine her qualification to work for an employer as a doctor. Even if the state board does not have the power to revoke her license because of free speech protections, common sense common sense dictates she should not be allowed anywhere near real patients. Hopefully employers will see it that way. Also you are wrong about issuing false statements being grounds for license revocation. This is from the AMA web site: A physician should remember that, in most states, making a false statement on an application for licensure is grounds for denial or future restriction.

Yes, free speech is a precious protected right as long as it protects our rights for free speech and other things. However what she is advocating and Islam advocates is removal of these rights and the very head that would speak of these rights, so this can not be allowed…

This actually fuels more militant Islam because they see it spreading Islam by displacing more Muslims and other people all over the world, causing more chaos in finantial burden on the west weakening them. Amazingly the West decouples itself from our judeoChristian roots, we tenaciously hang on to the right to religious freedom for Muslims immigrating them everywhere while we reject the religion of love your neighbor as yourself and embrace the one that says hate your neighbor and kill him! The point is Kollab doesn’t have a real license to practice medicine…she is only fighting for her “training license/certificate” per the State Medical Board of Ohio. Without being accepted into a training program, i.e., a medical residency program…she will never get a full medical license to practice medicine. It is very unlikely that with her notoriety that she will EVER be accepted into any training program in Ohio. If she goes outside of Ohio, she will have to get a new training license/certificate in that State. She would have to lie about what happened in Ohio in order to achieve that w/o any background check. She did get accepted into some residency program in California but then was rejected. There’s little difference in what this Muslim woman believes and what two Democrat Muslim members of congress, Talib and Omar, believe. None of them belong in our country. Yet we have them in congress, where laws are made, and in medicine, potentially treating people they consider infidels. These three represent what many religious Muslims believe but don’t talk about. They’re considered moderate Muslims. They are the ones who hold you down while the radicals murder you. If you think I’m wrong in my assessment name a country where Muslims have been allowed to immigrate where there isn’t conflict? She must never again ever be in a position to do harm to anyone in the United States, Jewish or otherwise. She should be struck off for life. If she wants to practice medicine let her do it in Sudan or Syria or the Palestine so loves (if the Israelis will let her but she may have a problem there).
