The public awarded the most votes to Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, who founded an order of nuns and 67 charitable organizations. But nuns and charity are on the outs in today’s New York City. Bill de Blasio’s wife, Chirlane McCray, chose two men, drag queens, to honor among the seven leading ladies of New York, and left Cabrini out altogether. This is not just a slap in the face to New Yorkers; it is an insult to all women. These are statues of leading women in New York and two of them are men? This is how the left imposes its agenda upon an unwilling populace. Yet no matter how egregious his misrule becomes, de Blasio operates in a one-party city. He will be mayor as long as he wants to be.
For statues honoring women, NY first lady nixes vote-winner St. Frances, chooses drag queens

NEW YORK, August 14, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — A mayor’s wife has rejected Saint Mother Frances Xavier Cabrini as a New York woman worthy of a public statue, choosing two men instead.
Story continues below advertisementChirlane McCray, wife of New York’s Democrat mayor, Bill de Blasio, originally planned to honor women in her “She Built NYC” project, an endeavor meant to balance the male-to-female ratio of the city’s public statues.
But despite sponsoring a poll in which the public awarded the most votes to Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, the Big Apple’s own patron saint of immigrants, McCray, 64, refused to include the saint among the seven leading ladies of New York.
Instead, she chose two males: Marsha P. Johnson (né Malcolm Michaels, Jr.), a drag queen who took part in the Stonewall Riots of 1969, and Silvia Rivera (né José Rivera), another Stonewall rioter and drag queen who, with Johnson, founded the gay liberation group STAR (Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries).
To put this into perspective, Mother Cabrini founded an order of nuns and 67 charitable organizations.
Author and retired newsman Don Surber quipped on his webpage that “once again Democrats show that they think men are better at being women than women are.”
Surber also believes that the refusal to honor St. Frances X. Cabrini shows that Democrats don’t really care about immigrants.
“Saint Frances was born in northern Italy. She became a nun and moved to America to tend the needs of Italian immigrants. She became a citizen at 59 in 1909. She died in 1917 and was canonized on July 7, 1946,” he wrote.
“What a remarkable inspiration she is a century later. Democrats could not care less,” he continued.
“They keep telling us how much immigrants mean to the country. Well, here is a woman who came to America and reached the heights. Literally. No mortal can go higher than a saint. But Democrats passed her over in favor of seven others[.]”
Public art historian Harriet Senie, a member of the panel that collected the poll results, told Hyperallergenic, an online arts world newspaper, that “[t]he whole process” of choosing the women to be honored “was a charade.”
“The committee came up with five suggestions, all of them groups of women with the express intention of changing the existing paradigm of memorials. We were very clear and unanimous about that.”
Senie called the choice to honor individuals instead of groups of women “an outrage.”
The New York Post reported that other New York women who were top picks on the poll were also rejected. They were Emily Warren Roebling, who took over from her ailing engineer husband to lead the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge, and pianist Dr. Janet D. Schenck, who founded the Manhattan Music School.
The “She Built NYC” project began last summer when New York’s first lady asked the public to weigh in on which female figures of New York’s history are most worthy of honor. According to the Post, more than 1,800 suggestions were made, including nominations for 320 women.
“Cabrini — who was known as Mother Cabrini and whose remains are entombed in a shrine at the former Mother Cabrini HS in Washington Heights — got 219 votes, which was tops,” the Post reported.
McCray then assembled a panel to review the poll and make its own suggestions. However, she and former deputy mayor Alicia Glen made the final decision, choosing four people who were not nominated in the poll: jazz singer Billie Holiday, civil rights activist Elizabeth Jennings Graham, abortion “rights” activist Dr. Helen Rodriguez Trias, and Rivera.
The other three are Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, heroic lighthouse-keeper Katherine Walker, and Johnson….

Things like this are proof positive that City Councilmember Ruben Diaz Sr. was correct when he stated that LGBTQ’s control the city. Remember too that, from what I’ve read, Chirlaine McCray was a lesbian before marrying “Red Bill.”
Besides what was mentioned here (“This is how the left imposes its agenda upon an unwilling populace”), it is also an indication of how much they seek to turn NYC into a completely homocentric / trans-centric society, essentially throwing the 98%-99.7% who are ‘normal’ under the bus, and making the city even more inhospitable and outright hostile for ‘normal’ parents to raise their children healthy (as opposed to morally corrupted and/or surgically altered / mutilated / disfigured / deformed). More and more of the city in recent years has become an extension of Greenwich Village, almost like the Muslim “no-go zone” enclaves in Western Europe (with nary an American flag in sight flown in an increasing number of businesses); the so-called “rainbow flag” has become a weapon of war against the Judeo-Christian foundations of our society, representing every bit as much as what was represented by such totalitarian regimes of the past as the Nazi swastika flag of Hitler’s Germany; the Japanese “rising sun” flag of the time of the rape of Nanking, the Bataan Death March, and of course the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor; the Soviet “hammer and sickle,” to those who were trapped in the “Eastern bloc” under the yoke of Communism; and in our own time, the flag of ISIS. As well as the extremely anti-family, anti-children, anti-morality, anti-humanity, anti-biology, anti-science, anti-reality LGBTQ agenda being every bit as supremacist as the Islamist agenda. No society centered and revolved entirely around LGBTQ’s has ever survived at any point in history. One reason why ancient Sparta fell sooner than the other Greek nation-states was the encouragement and promotion of such practices, as well as that of leaving “weak” babies to die in the forest (another major influence on the modern Left).
Also, has anyone noticed how much the drive to ramp up the transgenderization of society (as honoring those two in particular) is interrelated and “intersected” with the assault by the Left on what they have branded “toxic masculinity” – as well as representing a drive to relegate women to inferior, less-than-second-class status as they are boxed in under Islam? “Transgender” bathrooms are as much an assertion of dominance and declaration of supremacism as Muslim footbaths – and just as much a threat to the social fabric, not to mention representing a potential danger for women, girls and children. Just as with Europe throwing their women and children to the Muslim wolves, American society that sacrifices their children to LGBTQ “leadership” is likewise doomed.

What is wrong with that woman? I mean that seriously. There is something definitely wrong when you go through a public process to pick women to commemorate, then also publicly go against he will of the people and insert your own choices.

This is a joke…RIGHT? So the commies don’t really adhere to majority rule (the POPULAR VOTE!)…it’s the privileged elitist minority rule. Just think, if and when, sane Conservatives ever take control of NYC…they too will probably want to topple some statues that they find “offensive” like men pretending to be women.
