Justice Department announces broad antitrust review of Big Tech
It’s separate from the Google and Apple investigations that were announced earlier

After months of heightened tech scrutiny from both Republicans and Democrats, the Justice Department is opening a new antitrust investigation into large tech firms like Facebook, Amazon, and Google.
“Without the discipline of meaningful market-based competition, digital platforms may act in ways that are not responsive to consumer demands,” said Assistant Attorney General Makan Delrahim of the Antitrust Division. “The Department’s antitrust review will explore these important issues.”
The investigation will address broad concerns over whether Big Tech is stifling competition, and will be separate from the department’s probes of Google and Apple that were reported earlier this summer and are intended to take a closer look at individual potential violations. The review reported today will look into search engines, social media platforms, and retail, but not focus on any individual company or practice.
In a press release, the Justice Department said the review “will consider the widespread concerns that consumers, businesses, and entrepreneurs have expressed about search, social media, and some retail services online.”
At Attorney General Barr’s confirmation hearing this past January, he told senators that he would like to see the Justice Department take a harder look at whether companies like Google and Amazon were abusing their market dominance.
“I’d like to have the antitrust [officials] support that effort to get more involved in reviewing the situation from a competition standpoint,” Barr said at the time. “I don’t think big is necessarily bad, but I think a lot of people wonder [how] these big behemoths have taken shape in Silicon Valley.”

There Is NO doubt that Google is engaged in treason against the USA by its agreements, technology transfers, and other crimes with the ChiComs. Peter Thiel has alleged that ChiCom agents actually control Google, Twitter, and Facebook, and are manipulating them to interfere, if not control US policy and politics. Thiel laid out the case very clearly, and Trump tweeted his agreement. This is a real national emergency. Trump should have the military immediately seize and freeze all Google, Twitter and Facebook assets, arrest the executives for treason, and shut these monsters, or at least placed under the close supervision of a trustee before the elections. If you are directly or indirectly a holder of Google stock I would sell it NOW!

This seems to make the case for why “Freedom of Speech” was Number 1.
Once a group can control who speaks, just like Socialism, conditions are set that, human nature being as it is, that much power simply can’t be resisted.
Liberals always scoff, “Oh, well we’re not corrupt like that.” and conservative’s counter has always been, “Well maybe not but, what if someone gets in who is?”
Well we didn’t even get that far, as the very first people to gain such power succumbed to it.
Ironically, Zuckerberg built his empire pretty much EXACTLY like Stalin did, lying, stealing and back stabbing his way to absolute power, and now he even silences all critics, deprives them of income, locks them in digital gulags, and even “kills” their online personas.
And while posting on facebook isn’t exactly forced labor, Zuckerberg actually IS getting rich without paying others for their work so…
I wonder how badly he got beat up in school, because he still seems to have that “wide eyed” look of a kid terrified to go.
Stalin had a nasty childhood too, and I can’t help but think that, like Stalin, something “broke” in Zuckerberg.
It wouldn’t surprise me if he actually even stood in front of a mirror and said, “Someday, I will have my revenge.”
