Israel-South Korea to sign multi-billion dollar trade agreement at end of July: report

5

PM Netanyahu will travel to Seoul at the end of July to sign the FTA. He will also visit Japan on the same trip. The fake news media tells us that Israel is isolated, because they defend themselves against the neo-Nazi Palestinian Authority and Hamas. The truth is that Israel has never been less isolated, and never been more embraced. PM Netanyahu continues to brilliantly leverage Israeli innovation and technology, making Israel one of the hottest economies in the world.

The FTA between Israel and South Korea is another example of Israel’s surging relations with the various Asian countries, made possible by the power of Israeli technology. Israel’s trade with China, Japan, India, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam are breaking records. Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and the Philippines are also enjoying flourishing ties with the Jewish state.

Regrettably the new Israel-South Korea FTA will not apply to Judea and Samaria, but will still pump billions and billions of dollars into Israel’s booming economy, handing the BDS Movement another humiliating defeat. Am Israel Chai!

By i24 News, July 15, 2019:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will reportedly travel to South Korea at the end of July to sign a multi-billion dollar free trade agreement with Seoul.

The agreement, however, will exclude Israeli settlements in the West Bank, East Jerusalem & Golan Heights, Hebrew-language broadcaster Channel 13 reported Monday evening.

Netanyahu is also expected to travel to Japan during his trip to Asian pacific

The free trade agreement with Seoul is expected to bring in billions of dollars to Israel- “both in exports to South Korea and in cheaper imports that are expected to lower prices for consumers in Israel,” according to Channel 13.

But the benefits will reportedly not extend to the West Bank, East Jerusalem & Golan Heights as part of a unique territorial clause, a departure from previous agreements signed by Israel.

In the past, Israel has refused to sign trade agreements that specifically do not include territories under dispute. But according to Channel 13, as a compromise, Jerusalem will add a side disclaimer articulating its position on Israeli settlements.

I am uneasy that Israel seems to have, uniquely for South Korea, excluded the “West Bank” (is that Judea and Samaria?). I wonder if this could open some sort of Pandora’s Box of similar demands from other countries.
