Pete Buttigieg and Joe Biden Condemn Israeli Occupation, as Young American Jews Urge Democrats to Press Israel

YOUNG AMERICAN JEWS from the IfNotNow movement, who want to end their community’s support for the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory, succeeded on Friday in getting two more Democratic presidential candidates, Pete Buttigieg and Joe Biden, to denounce Israel’s military rule over millions of disenfranchised Palestinians.
Activists from the group have been trailing Democratic candidates as they campaign in New Hampshire, and urging them to say, on camera, that they would work to end the occupation, if elected. Both Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren expressed their support for the group’s position at recent events, triggering outrage from far-right Republicans and unease from establishment Democrats who are reluctant to criticize even the increasingly far-right Israeli government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“The occupation has to end,” Buttigieg replied, to applause.
He went on to note that even Ariel Sharon, a right-wing Israeli prime minister, not only called for an end to the occupation in 2003, but told Israelis bluntly: “It is occupation, you might not like this word, but it’s really an occupation.”
IfNotNow welcomed Buttigieg’s remarks, while noting that it was a departure from more conservative positions he has taken in the past, and said that its members still need to hear how he, and other candidates, “will use American leverage to pressure Israel to end the Occupation.”

The Western world, like the Muslim world but in a different manner, has really gone stupid, dishonest and hypocritical. Democratic freedoms are now in name only. Exercise them and you can be arrested – at the least shunned. Write an intelligent letter to a newspaper and if its views conflicts with what they want the public to read – no matter how accurate, true and thought provoking – in Canada your letter will NOT be published by the msm. The media is shockingly dishonest, little more than propaganda and those who run it neither care nor recognize that lying and misleading is rotten and wrong. Yet most of the public are too stupid, unthinking, gullible and poorly informed to appreciate that they are being fed fake news. The West really is living on the edge of Orwell’s ‘1984’. Most Canadians, probably like most Britons, don’t realize what a fraud their country has become with all the fraudulent ‘good guy’ imagery. Much of what takes place is pretence. There is little free speech, the media in lock-step with government makes sure that this is so with it’s version of ‘news and informing the public’. Propaganda is common, so how different is this to totalitarian Soviet Russia and the Eastern bloc? Governments want restrictions on what can be reported – because it might show the public how lousy, incompetent and dishonest they are – like Trudeau’s corrupt government, not least over SC-Lavalin and its bribery and corruption, and Trudeau appointing family and buddies to high positions. So they really want to silence the truth. Their aversion is to truth, thus their pretence that after all the Muslim violence and mass murders of 9/11 and all those that followed, this is just a ‘perversion of Islam’ – a complete lie, it’s part and parcel of Islam!on! What a horrible mess the West has become under shockingly poor and dishonest government.

What occupation are they talking about? Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005 and there is not a single Jew there. To these idiots, any Jew anywhere in Israel constitutes an occupation. Gaza is the “Palestinian” state they’ve wanted and it isn’t working out too well.
