Half of Germans view Islam as a threat, says new study
The new study surveyed 1,000 people. It was conducted by the foundation’s Religion Monitor department and the data was collected in the Spring of 2019.

Story continues below advertisementhe Bertelsmann Foundation released a study on Thursday revealing that every second German feels threatened by Islam. Dr. Yasemin El-Menouar, an Islam expert with Bertelsmann, wrote “Overall, about half of the respondents perceive Islam as a threat.
In East Germany, this proportion is even higher at 57% than in West Germany [50%].“
The new study surveyed 1,000 people. It was conducted by the foundation’s Religion Monitor department and the data was collected in the Spring of 2019. Only a third of those surveyed said Islam enriches German society. In contrast, a majority of Germans say Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism serve to enrich Germany.
El-Menouar suspects that the negative result for Islam is influenced by the perception that Islam is more of a political ideology and less of a religion. However, the study also noted that “Only a minority of citizens show a clearly anti-Islamic view and demand, for example, to prevent the immigration of Muslims.”
According to El-Menouar, “Although our study shows a widespread skepticism of Islam, but that is not necessarily synonymous with hostility toward [Muslims]. Many people have reservations about Islam, but that does not lead to political demands or anti-democratic views.”
Chancellor Angela Merkel allowed a largely open border policy starting in 2015 that resulted in the absorption of over one million new refugees and immigrants from Muslim-majority countries.

The media have suppressed that muslums habitually defecate in public swimming pools just as they shlt in other public places. Many public pools have had to be shut down because of cryptosporidium infestation. These savages are a disgusting scourge on civilized countries.

Not sure if you read these comments Pam but I’d recommend getting rid of Disqus if you can. They’ve been censoring my posts (under a different account) that agree with your articles and I’m sure others have experienced the same. It seems as if they’ve been taken over by people who are pro-Sharia law and seek to shut down any criticism of Islam or Muslims.

Agreed, Muslims have cleverly infiltrated many organizations to push their pro-Islamic agenda and stupid companies keep falling for it.
If our freedom of speech is eliminated then we won’t be able to inform each other and fight back against their Jihad against us.
We don’t really need a comment screening service. All we need is a block and report button. If anyone annoys you, you can block them. If they’re making threats or something they can get reported and Pam can ban them if needed.
Otherwise people should be free to say whatever they like so long as it abides by the law.

I bet it is higher than that, but most probably were afraid to tell the truth.
I would be scared that someone would out me for not agreeing with Islam & wanting them all deported.
You just can’t trust people with how you think because it could have been a trap that could have ruined their lives & exposed them. That’s why I think this poll is bogus. I think the percentages of Germans that think Islam is dangerous & wants them deported is way higher than 60%.
Like I said the German indigenous people & Europeans are afraid & rightly so… They can get thrown in Prison for thinking the “Wrong WAY” aka The Right WAY!

I just commented, and then read your comment here. You are absolutely correct. My dear friend whom is a Member of Parliament in Germany said that they called several thousand. BUT, that it was only about 1,000 that did not hang up on them once asked the question. And then, reluctantly answered. He feels as you do, that most that answered that they did not pose a threat were terribly afraid to be “singled out for punishment”. He unequivocally stated that there is indeed a “watch List” that is kept by the current Government of German Nationals that “have adverse/negative attitudes” towards muslims and Africans. Germany is screwed.

It cracks me up when Islamic culture, which kills homosexuals, is totally ignored by Leftist Western media propagandists when they write: “Some speculated that “conservative” Muslim officials took issue.” Ha! Wait until they really “take issue!” And the use of the word “conservative” trying to lump them with us conservatives in the West. Talking about the clever use of words by the the Leftist commies…I wish conservatives and Republicans would stop enabling the label “PROGRESSIVE” as a stand alone noun for these traitors to America. It should only be used as a sinister adjective as in Progresssive _____ (fill in the blank). If you don’t want to come out and call them COMMUNISTS…at least call them Progressive Communists. I wish I could send a message to Mark Levin to scold him…he uses the stand alone label of “Progressive” all the time. At least state what they are PROGRESSING TO! It drives me crazy. Liberal is another label that irks me…it should be “Leftists (formerly known as Liberals).” Censorship of conservatives and critics of Islam has nothing to do with being “liberal.”

Only half? My God then 50% of Germany must be Muslim. The threat is clear and has been spread everywhere; even those who support immigration to Germany must know there is a threat and danger. It is really a very innocuous questions to ask.Or, it must be that those asked the question are afraid to voice their true apprehensions lest they be reviled as an Islamophobe.

It’s closer to 90% in the East and 75% in the West. I have talked with my friends from both areas. Most of those asked are afraid to be charged with “Islamophobia” and/or be put on a “Watch List” to say how they really feel. It is truly gobsmacking to see them so literally terrified to be sent to jail for speaking out and not being able to support their families because of that. Welcome to “Hitler’s New Germany.”
