Federal authorities arrested a man Thursday who was planning to throw explosives at people in Times Square, law enforcement sources tell the Daily News.

Authorities: Ashiqul Alam Of Queens Wanted To Attack Times Square With Guns, Suicide Vests And Grenades
CBS New York, June 7, 2019:
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A Queens man has been arrested after authorities say he plotted to bomb Manhattan’s Times Square.
Ashiqul Alam was taken into custody Thursday by the Joint Terrorism Task Force, which includes both the NYPD and FBI.
The 22-year-old man from Queens allegedly bought guns and wanted to use a suicide vest and grenades to attack Times Square to kill police officers and civilians.
Authorities say Alam bought two guns with their serial numbers removed from undercover agents.
“Mr. Alam discussed guns, suicide vests, hand grenades, and surveilled crowded New York targets such as Times Square”, said Police Commissioner James O’Neill. “Our job is to prevent these terrorist attacks whenever we can before they are carried out. This case is another example of the tightly-knit teamwork of the JTTF and the NYPD’s Intelligence Bureau. Mr. Alam is charged with illegally purchasing untraceable firearms from undercover officers. That was a clear indicator of his intent to move his plot forward.”Authorities say Alam wanted to either attack Times Square or Washington D.C., with an eye toward killing a “senior government official.”
Alam reportedly went to Times Square for reconnaissance and made videos as he was researching potential targets.
Authorities say Alam underwent laser surgery to correct his vision and allegedly linked his decision to get surgery with his plot.
“Let’s say we are in an attack, right, say that my glasses fall off. What if I accidentally shoot you? You know what I mean. Imagine what the news channel would call me the ‘Looney Tunes Terrorist’ or the ‘Blind Terrorist,’” Alam allegedly said.
Police believe he was working alone.
Sources say Alam got on law enforcement’s radar after searching for explosives. Authorities then set up a sting.
He was arrested Thursday after trying to purchase guns from officers with the JTTF.
Alam was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned in federal court Friday afternoon in Brooklyn.
There’s no indication Alam was part of a larger plot and it looks like a “lone wolf” situation.
Sources say the public was not in danger at any time.
People visiting Times Square said they were relieved.
“That’s great that they were foil the attempt. It’s just always disheartening to hear someone trying to buy something that would hurt someone else,” one man said.
“Thank goodness they’re on top of it. I’m glad that our safety is being taken care of,” one woman said.
“I feel like stuff like that goes on is the world every day. Yeah, I feel safe. I mean, they caught him, so,” another man said.

Nutter DeBlasio, terminated mosque surveillance and other operations because it was “racial profiling” and “discriminatory” so the NYPD and JTTF have a tougher job. I have great respect for the NYPD , JTTF and FDYN. They are stand up people.
Having these Muslim community patrol cars is guaranteed to be problematic. They will enable attacks.

So luckily this muslum was mentally challenged, otherwise there would’ve been dead kuffar in the streets of NYC. And if the private Muslum patrol group had found out about the plot would they have shared such intel w/the NYPD? Or kept it to themselves? Or facilitated the attack?

While the advertising banner shows “Aladdin” (better Allahdin), there’s a Celtic cross in the
middle of the pedestrian zone (if it is not an Iron Cross). The Times Square seems to be for
NYC what the Reeperbahn for example on a small scale’s for Hamburg: an amusement mile.

There are tens of thousands already here and embedded who will take his place. Hundreds of masques are training even more thousands. The only solution is to close the mosques and to deport the entire Muslim population. Perhaps,those who will publicly denounce the criminal cult into which they were born or recruited can be allowed to stay under the most strict forms of surveillance. I fear an attack that will dwarf 9/11 is about to occur.

Because it’s NOT a problem to most Muslims! I’m guessing because if they genuinely were concerned, upset at being judged wrongly, the Qoran being preached falsely and their followers manipulated by isis so readily and easily then they would rebuke as loudly, as angry and as forcefully as they do when they quote the doctrine from the Qoran!
Yet they publicly denounce violence only after an attack, publicly cry victim when they are on the receiving end of abuse or an attack and when trying to manipulate the Government by creating counselling groups for so called wayward, naive Muslims!
Why not just stop these mosques from functioning?
Why not only allow English to be spoken during sermons?
Why not make it a requirement to record every service and an enforcement agent look through it for hatred, violence or jihad threats?
Why not hold the Immams and prophets of these mosques and prayer halls accountable for those who are radicalised from their mosques?
There’s so much our laws and government agencies can do to enforce strong, strict rules governing this ideology for the safety of the community and country!
The leaders of this ideology need to be the first in line to be an example to the rest!
