CNN is screwing over the most vulnerable workers. Freelancers are cheap labor. There are no full time benefits or healthcare costs or minimum wage or any of the other socialist left-wing policies that socialist leftist media outlets like CNN promote.
CNN’s New 90 Day Wait Period For Paychecks Has Freelance Producers Outraged

Not content with only tanking in the TV ratings, former news giant CNN is now managing to tick off all of the freelancers that they hire across the world by extending payment wait times from an industry standard 30 days to a whopping 90 days. Many of the pieces that air on the news are not filmed by employees of whatever news station is airing it, but instead by independent contractor video producers, also called stringers. The news stations either commission these people to cover certain things or the contractors shop around pieces that they’ve put together on their own merit.
Brad Ingram, who serves as CNN’s “vice president” of their “procure to pay” wing of the “customer care department” sent the letter out the other day, explaining that the new policy takes effect on June 17th.
Apparently CNN still owes Marcus DiPaola $400 from a gig he did for them 5 years ago.
Ethical disclosure, not a big deal, but just in case: I am currently owed $400 from footage I sold in 2014 to CNN, but they are in the process of mailing me a check for it after I emailed Jeff Zucker and he intervened to get me paid.

CNN’s parent company, Time Warner, hauled in about $33 Billion in revenue last year, but they can’t manage to pay $500-$2000 to someone they hired to produce a segment for their broadcast?
This 90 day plan has hundreds of stringers across world upset, and they are venting in a Facebook group. Check out what some of them are saying. This freelance producer here brings up the fact that we’re approaching the 2020 election year, and CNN will be relying on stringers more than ever in their efforts to defeat Trump.

Others are recommending raising rates or adding in line item charges based on the length of time it takes to get paid.
One guy apparently had to wait 6 months to get paid from CNN.
Apparently CNN is investigating critics of the new policy, as one guy reports that an “administrative employee at Turner” was skimming through his LinkedIn profile as a result of this.
Bravo CNN,Bravo. They’ll surely try to blame this on Trump, Russia, and the NRA.

I doubt that what is suggested in this article really means that the WarnerMedia company is in financial trouble. That can only happen if their advertising revenue stream has dissipated, and that has not happened. Though we all can concede that this company is really an opinion media vehicle, and not a true news media provider, and we can hope that the public continues to wise up and recognize that they are a political machine, not a news presenter, slanting their anti-Trump views without any redeeming positive statements about the man and his agenda, and a purveyor of adverse politics that they support, all of which would have a continuing negative impact on their ratings, I very much doubt that they will somehow change back to what the FCC expected them to be, and that is to report all the news as factual with the public being allowed to decide the meaning of it all.

– when a company cannot meet payroll

AT&T, which owns WarnerMedia, pays its salaried employees on the 6th of a month for work completed in the second half of the previous month … and on the 21st of a month for work completed in the first half of that month.
So, this 90-day wait-period to pay CNN stringers is no surprise.

For two years CNN, a.k.a. “Counterfeit News Network” had their viewers whipped into a froth that the Mueller report would spell Trump’s demise. But when that prospect fell on its ass, their viewers switched the channel.
