An Australian man who stabbed his neighbor in 2016 said he originally planned to attack Jewish students at the University of Sydney.
Story continues below advertisementIhsas Khan was found guilty earlier this month of carrying out a terrorist act with his machete attack on 57-year-old Wayne Greenhalgh in the Sydney suburb of Minto.
Greenhalgh, who was hospitalized in critical condition but has since recovered, was reportedly wearing a shirt with an American motif when he was attacked by Khan, then a pharmacy student.
Prosecutors said Khan — who pleaded not guilty, citing mental illness — was a “self-radicalized extremist Muslim” who supported the Islamic State terrorist group.

Speaking at a sentencing hearing on Thursday, Khan said he bought his weapon with the aim of attacking students wearing kippahs, The Australian Jewish News reported.
“I was planning on using it on Jewish students in the university to kill them. Just people wearing the Jewish headgear, the kippah,” Khan said.
“I was filled with hatred,” he added. “It was revenge for what was happening in Palestine.”
The co-CEO of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, Alex Ryvchin, told AJN that the testimony was a reminder that the “threat to our community, both from organised groups of extremists and from lone actors, is very real.”
“It shows us why communal security is of paramount importance, not only in preventing and responding to attacks, but in providing training to members of our community and teaching vigilance and self-defense,” Ryvchin added.
“It also demonstrates how public information serves to incite hatred and potentially lethal violence. When certain public figures and media outlets vilify Israelis, trade in slander and false accusations, relentlessly demonize the state and its citizens and soldiers, it can result in direct harm to our community.”
“This is why we are so determined to combat demonization of Israel,” he said.
Khan, who expressed regret on Thursday for “[messing] up an innocent man’s life,” is expected to be sentenced next month.

Kind of reminds me of “the man” that slammed a truck into pedestrians, jumped out, and started knifing innocent bystanders, in 2008, murdering eight and injuring an additional ten. However, in that instance, the name was given. I wonder about this wielder of two knives murderer.

4 years agoI am reiterating the words of other posters; mental illness is the great cop-out for Muslim savagery, terror, and murder of non-Muslims. Most sickening is the fact, the judiciaries, of not only Australia but the entire Western faux-Democracies, endorse and encourage mental illness as justification for these heinous act against non-Muslims. Therefore, the judiciary and the authorities are culpable in the murderous, terrorist bent by those of Islam.
The Qu’ran sanctifies the murder and mass-murder of non-Muslims but not to those within the governments, agencies, and judiciaries of these nations. The enemies of civilization are not merely Muslims but the flaccid, weak-kneed, politically correct leaders of the West. Liberalism/Progressivism/Marxism/Fascism is akin to aspiring one’s nation’s and citizens’ ultimate death.
4 years agoThe best way to fight back against these muzzrats is to report anything suspicious. Since so many of these dumbasses want to be like their terrorist-pedo hero Mohammad, it won’t be hard to find them plotting attacks against us. So report, report report. That’s how we’ll beat both the Leftists and Muslims at their own game.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Make friends with Muslims, find out their networks, get some details (names, addresses, etc) on them and when you suspect any of them planning something, call in the anonymous tips line. Get the police/authorities to go after these cockroaches.
4 years agoNo other political concept calls its member to assemble five times a day to be harangued with messages of hate, murder, rape , arson and poisoning and using a religious fervor to inspire these acts. The billions who attend these mosques radiate a black, negative prayer to those with weak , criminal minds and is responsible for the insane news stories we read about daily.
