Israel at 71: From Ashes to Powerhouse

24

Today Israel is 71 one year’s young. No other nation has accomplished more in a mere 71 years than the Jewish state of Israel. Despite a host of enemies, this past year proved to be a stellar one for the Jewish state.

On its 71st birthday Israel’s population has reached 9 million people, and 45 percent of world Jewry. Israel now enjoys diplomatic relations with 161 countries. Israel’s GDP is closing in on half a trillion dollars. Israel’s exports exceeded a $110 billion dollars during this past year alone. 539 multi-national corporations have established R&D centers in Israel, to take advantage of the country’s expertise in fields such as autonomous vehicles, agriculture, cybersecurity, AI, Fintech, and digital health. Israeli start-ups raised a record $6.4 billion while Israeli companies were sold for $12.63 billion. In addition, some of the world’s leading corporations including Intel, Samsung, Facebook, Canon, Google, HP, Amazon.com and many others invested billions of dollars in the Jewish states world renowned tech sector.

Israel welcomed a record 4 million tourists. Israel’s Netta Barzilai won the 2018 Eurovision song contest. Israel also became only the 7th country to orbit the moon, with the tiny and revolutionary spacecraft Beresheet. Israeli entrepreneurs launched Watergen, a company that can extract water from the air, which could potentially play a huge role in solving the world’s water shortages. Israel’s humanitarian organizations provided invaluable aid to countries such as Mozambique, Uganda, Guatemala, and Brazil. Israeli scientists also made significant progress in finding cures for cancer, AIDS, and many other diseases that plague millions.

Story continues below advertisement

Jack Ma, the CEO of the tech giant Alibaba, received an honorable doctorate from University of Tel Aviv. During his commencement speech he called Israel a “miracle nation.” Ma would later open Alibaba’s R&D facility in Tel Aviv. Jack Ma would return to Israel 5 months later with the Chinese Vice President and a massive delegation of Chinese business leaders. Israel’s relations with Vietnam, Japan, the Philippines, and India reached new heights as well. Israel also re-established relations with Chad, and will likely do the same with Mali and Niger in the near future. PM Netanyahu also visited the Gulf state of Oman, while relations with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE improved dramatically.

Israel signed a free trade agreement with Panama, and Prime Minister Netanyahu would become the first sitting Israeli PM to visit Brazil. In April, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro would return the favor, and proudly became the first head of state to accompany a sitting Israeli PM to the Western Wall. PM Netanyahu became the first world leader to participate in the Balkan Craiova Conference, with Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Greece. Israel signed a free trade agreement with Ukraine. Israel would also reach an agreement with Italy, Greece, and Cyprus, to build an underwater pipeline, enabling Israel to become a natural gas exporter to Europe in the coming years. Israel’s trade with the UK reached a record $11 billion and became one of the first countries to sign a post-Brexit trade agreement with Britain. Israel’s trade with the EU reached record levels as well.

However, the highlight of this past year is when President Trump moved the U.S embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. Guatemala would do the same shortly thereafter. Other countries such as Brazil, Romania, Honduras, and the Czech Republic have indicated that they will do the same in the future.

Rest assured that the BDS Movement will continue to work vigorously to isolate the Jewish state. Unfortunately for the BDS Movement the Palestinians have never created anything of value. Therefore, the BDS Movement has nothing to leverage, which will result in continued defeats at the hands of the Israelis.

Israel at 71: From Ashes to Powerhouse, United with Israel, Daniel Krygier, May 8, 2019:

When the Modern State of Israel was established in May 1948, few could imagine that it would survive, let alone thrive. Yet, against all odds, the reborn Jewish nation arose from the ashes after the Holocaust and became a powerhouse in merely seven decades.

The driving engine behind Israel’s tremendous success is the Jewish state’s unique spirit of turning disadvantages into advantages.

Israel was reborn merely three years after the Holocaust, which consumed six million Jewish lives, one third of the Jewish people. In 1948, Israel was poor, outnumbered and outgunned. Few military experts believed that the Jewish nation would survive the pan-Arab assault.

Yet Israel did not merely survive. It dreamed defiantly towards a brighter future for the Jewish people. From its humble beginning, Israel was forced to embrace innovation and hard work in order to deal with numerous daunting challenges of absorbing numerous destitute Jewish immigrants while fighting for her existence.

Feeding a rapidly growing immigrant population became a top priority. A tiny, dry territory did not look promising for building a Jewish future. However, Israel transformed its water shortage disadvantage into an advantage. The Jewish state quickly became a world leader in water technologies and water conservation. Israel succeeded in building one of the world’s most modern and innovative agricultures. Soon, Israel was not merely able to feed its population but even managed to export quality products worldwide.

Everything you ever wanted to know about Israel at 71, Israel21C, Israel21CStaff, May 7, 2019:

As night falls on May 8, 2019, Israel will kick off its 71st birthday celebration in the usual Yom Ha’atzmaut (Independence Day) style with cookouts, aerobatic shows, silly string, torch-lighting ceremonies and festive fireworks across the nation.

In only seven decades, Israel has proven it’s possible to do the impossible at home and abroad, whether greening deserts with world-leading technological knowhow, rescuing people in distress in distant lands, or sending the smallest-ever spacecraft to the moon.

The list of Israeli accomplishments is truly staggering, especially considering the huge amount of resources that must be devoted to defense alone.

Last year, ISRAEL21c brought you a timeline, “70 Years of Israeli achievement,” and a fantastic companion film, “70 Years of Israeli Milestones in 165 Seconds.”

Now we’ve delved into the statistics to present a fun and fascinating by-the-numbers picture of Israel at 71.

Jews are His chosen people and His promises to them will happen.
They might want to be careful in some of their technology breakthroughs…
This is going to far. It is circumventing God to create babies from skin cells.
I doubt this would make God happy….their goal is not in agreement with His teachings.

Israeli Researchers Create Embryo Stem Cells from Skin Cells
By Deborah Danan
5/5/2019

TEL AVIV – Israeli researchers said they have found a way to transform skin cells into the three major stem cell types that comprise early-stage embryos, with the next step being to create whole embryos without the need for sperm or eggs. Dr. Yossi Buganim, who led the research at Hebrew University’s Department of Developmental Biology and Cancer Research, called it a “crazy thing.”

“We did not have a baby in the dish. But the next step would be to organize these cells into a three-dimensional structure and implant them into a foster mother. Then you would get a baby,” Buganim said.
(This is taking things too far – I would consider this to be unethical and playing god.)

His team isolated five genes to transform murine cells into the embryo itself, the placenta and the extra-embryonic tissues, such as the umbilical cord.

The discovery would have “vast implications” for modelling embryonic defects and shedding light on placental dysfunctions, as well as solving certain infertility problems by creating human embryos in a petri dish, a Hebrew University statement explained.

It could allow researchers “to generate embryos from sterile men and women, using only their skin cells, and generate a real embryo in a dish and implant the embryo in the mother,” Buganim said.

“To make a baby, we need to organize the cells into a 3-D structure,” Buganim stated. “Then, if done correctly, if we find the exact ratio between the cell types and the right environment, we could generate an embryo.”

He added, however, that that was likely to be a long way off, several decades even.
“An embryo is a three dimensional structure. We need to learn how to put this all together to generate a real embryo,” he said.
..
Buganim’s team includes Dr. Oren Ram from Hebrew University’s Institute of Life Science, Professor Tommy Kaplan from Hebrew University’s School of Computer Science and Engineering, and doctoral students Hani Benchetrit and Mohammad Jaber.

Do you honestly believe that Israel as we see it today is moving towards some form of purity or sanctity? They are becoming one of the most sexually immoral nations on earth and are completely consumed by wealth and materialism. That is a problem for all mankind. I do not see any worship of God going on in Israel just a fascination with their past history and claims to having been a chosen people once. Do you forget the curtain in the temple being torn in two from top to bottom when Christ died on the cross? What do you thank was happening in that action? Gods Spirit no longer dwells in a temple built with hands but in the soul of each human being who accepts Christ’s death on the cross for their sins. Abraham looked forward to Christ for salvation and the Church looks back to Christ for the same salvation.

So maybe you can explain to everyone the two paths to salvation from sin, one for the jews and one for the church? If anyone calls on Christ and accepts His death as salvation (atonement/payment) for their sin then they are written in the Lambs book of life and when they appear before Gods judgement seat He wont say “be gone I never knew you”. One salvation not two. Otherwise you can be any ethnicity on this earth as a human descended from Adam and enter into Gods eternal glory through Christ and Christ only. The Bible is quite clear who Christ is coming back for His bride (The Church). The Jews reject Christ to this day but their scriptures are full of His coming they just think He is still to come. There is no other salvation to be found except in Jesus Christ, Gods Son and the long awaited and prophesied Messiah in the OT.

simple answer: Everyone is responsible for his/her own salvation thru repentance, prayer and good deeds. Jews are obligated to follow the 613 biblical precepts, non Jews the 7 Noahide laws.

More complicated answer: The very concept of Christ’s death as salvation for mankind runs contrary to the bible and the 10 Commandments handed down on Mt. Sinai.
When God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac it was a test. When isaac was bound for ritual sacrifice God’s angel commanded Abraham to cease and desist, stating that God does not require human sacrifices. This happened at a time when all first born sons were sacrificed to the gods. God changed that to circumcision, a way to commemorate the end of human sacrifice by shedding some blood. The fact that church decided to reinstitute the idea of human sacrifice thru the death of jesus ran counter to nearly 1500 of Jewish existence and religious practices.
But the church did much worse. It decided the death of jesus on the cross would substitute for the biblical commandments of priestly sacrifices in the temple, both daily and on Yom Kippur, the biblical day of atonement for each and every person in the world.
Jewish law was given to Moses by God on Mt. Sinai, who then handed it over the the sages and leaders of the tribes, who then dispensed the laws to the people at large. The New Testament was written by man, for man, with a new synchronistic theology designed to appeal to the idolatrous populations at large. In order not to have to compete with the mother religion the church instituted matricidal laws against the Jewish people to dissuade converts to Judaism.
The very term Old Testament is a pejorative. It is as current today as it ever was. It is the only testament ever given on Mt. Sinai. The new testament can make no such claims to any equal validity.

Some Muslims are seeing the advantage of normalizing relations with Israel.
They resist western freedom that leads to prosperity because Islam keep them in the dark ages.
Islam keeps them barbaric and backwards. For example, who in their right mind would drink camel urine to cure cancer? That’s what ignorant Mohammad commanded them to do and they follow him..

Arabs have everything to gain from normalization with Israel, while Israel has little to gain
BY RAMI DABBAS
MAY 9, 2019 11:14 AM

(He was discontent with Islam and looked at other options to find peace. Eventually he had an interesting dream that lead him to Christianity. It’s amazing how dreams play large roles in the life of an Arab.)

For several days after I contemplated Christianity. It was the summer of 2011. I began researching churches online, and ended up contacting some of them. My curiosity eventually drove me to visit an international church in Amman, where I met a blessed American pastor. I prayed and accepted Jesus that very night. Less than a year later, I was baptized and immediately began studying the Bible and Christian theology.

Even in my country of Jordan, which is officially at peace with Israel, we still hear the term “resistance to normalization” with the hated “Zionist enemy.” My people don’t understand that Israel is actually our friend, and that if we followed the Jewish state’s example then we, too, would become prosperous like America and Europe. Instead, we remain under the influence of an Islamic colonization that keeps us living a backward and primitive existence. Some examples: take a look at Israel’s universities compared to ours, its hospitals compared to ours, Israel’s technology compared to ours (if you can find any).

The real reason Arab countries resist normalization with Israel is that they reject Western civilization. The State of Israel is a civilized, democratic country, like those of Europe; sometimes even more so. The Arab world has been raised to detest this brand of civilization. What we find in the end is that those calling to resist normalization with Israel often do not truly understand what they are protesting. They want the benefits of European and Israeli civilization, but then spurn the genuine example of it right next door to us.

I note that what is now “European” civilization is largely built upon Judeo-Christian civilization, which originated with the Jews of the Middle East.

Understand the author, Rami Dabbas is an EX MUSLIM who converted to Christianity living in Jordan.

From Disillusioned Muslim to Christian Arab Zionist
By Rami Dabbas

As a Christian, I became aware that Jesus is Jewish, a descendant of King David, another Jew. It was the Muslim Arabs who were the invaders and occupiers. I now believe that the Jewish people remain God’s chosen people. To those who do not believe, especially atheists, I always tell them to just go visit the many Jewish monuments that dot not only the State of Israel, but most of the Arab states, too. After discovering this truth regarding the Israeli-Arab conflict, I began to engage with Israelis, who I found to be wonderful and kind, quite in contrast to my own people, who can often be rude and aggressive. I also found that Israel is the only country in the Middle East where true freedom is possible, especially for Christians, who are waning in number in every place in the region except for the Jewish state, where the Christian population is actually growing.

Now, to be pro-Israel is not easy in the Arab world, especially where Islam dominates. Being this way makes one the target of a lot of conspiracy theories, hatred, incitement and even discrimination. You must be willing to be called a traitor.

Catholic Theologians have advanced a unique view of the relationship between Christian,Jew and Muslim. See “As the Islamic violence against Jews continued, it’s ironic that many of the Muslim oppressors would be descendants of the “lost tribes” – Jews and Israelites who had been transformed into Muslims! This continued as Muslims spread throughout Syria, Iraq, Constantinople, Egypt, Spain, India, Palestine, offering conversion to Islam as a matter of life or death.

It is quite probable that the anti-Jewish forces in present-day Palestine, Iran, Egypt, and elsewhere consist of people partly descended from the twelve tribes! The leaders of Fatah and Hamas in Palestine, the Ayatollahs in Iran, may be descended from the Israelite tribe of Judah or Issachar, Ephraim or Zebulon. Even some of our readers with Spanish or Eastern European or Mediterranean ancestors may descend from one of the Lost Tribes. Clearly, Israel is a nation that has contributed many wonderful things to this world. Unfortunately, the world body, like the U.N. and others refuse to recognize the favorable contributions made by this great nation, and their unjustified bias is pronounced. Instead, they hammer Israel as always being in violation of one thing or another, and their negative rhetoric seems to trigger conduct that ends up as violence (terrorism) and makes any opportunity for peace disappear. As long as these bodies do not accept the reality that this nation was born to its people over 5000 years ago, and that under no circumstances can they be accused of being “occupiers,” no chance for peace will ever result.

Europe is going down hard as it has turned its back on God. Israel is not worshipping God and does not believe Christ is their Messiah. Israel is the hot spot for LGBQTRSXYZ…..culture in the middle east.
