US.-based Afghan pilot training program ends after nearly half of pilots go AWOL

A U.S.-based program to train Afghan attack pilots has shuttered after nearly half of trainees went absent without leave, or AWOL, resulting in only one graduating class, according to a government report released this week.

The program taught Afghan Air Force pilots to fly the AC-208 light attack combat aircraft. It was disbanded after more than 40 percent of those enrolled left in the middle of training, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction said in its quarterly report.

“Those students that did not go AWOL were pulled back to Afghanistan to complete their training: as a result, only one class graduated from the U.S.-based program,” the report stated. The remaining classes will finish their training in Afghanistan.

The pilots were trained at Meacham Airport in Fort Worth, Texas by advisers called the Train Advise Assist Command-Air. The instructors are part of NATO’s Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan.

SIGAR did not indicate whether the AWOL pilots were found. Foreign trainees going AWOL is not uncommon. Nearly half of all foreign military trainees — 152 out of 320 — gone AWOL since 2005 were from Afghanistan, SIGAR reported in 2017.

The Afghans are COWARDS! I bet they were paid to train up but when it comes to confronting their supposed enemy they run in the opposite direction. At some point we have to face the fact that if defending their country is not important or they are too cowardly to do it, WHY ARE WE THERE WASTING TIME AND MONEY ON THEM?
It also wouldn’t surprise me if they lacked the mental ability to fly those planes. Many are inbred.

Oops, there is money to be made in endless wars especially where we have no national interest.

Abstract

The present cross-sectional study was done in order to illustrate the prevalence and types of consanguineous
(same kinship) marriages among Afghanistan populations. Data on types of marriages were collected using a simple questionnaire. The total number of couples in the study was 7140 from the following provinces: Badakhshan, Baghlan, Balkh, Bamyan, Kabul, Kunduz, Samangan and Takhar. Consanguineous marriages were classified by the degree of relationship between couples: double first cousins, first cousins, first cousins once removed, second cousins and beyond second cousins. The coefficient of inbreeding (F) was calculated for each couple and the mean coefficient of inbreeding (α) estimated for each population.

The proportion of consanguineous marriages in the country was 46.2%, ranging from 38.2% in Kabul province to 51.2% in Bamyan province. The equivalent mean inbreeding coefficient (α) was 0.0277, and ranged from 0.0221 to 0.0293 in these two regions. There were significant differences between provinces for frequencies of different types of marriages (p<0.001). First cousin marriages (27.8%) were the most common type of consanguineous marriages, followed by double first cousin (6.9%), second cousin (5.8%), beyond second cousin (3.9%) and first cousin once removed (1.8%). There were significant differences between ethnic groups for the types of marriages (χ2=177.6, df=25, p<0.001). Tajiks (Soni) and Turkmens (also Pashtuns) showed the lowest (α=0.0250) and highest (α=0.0297) mean inbreeding coefficients, respectively, among the ethnic groups in Afghanistan. The study shows that Afghanistan’s populations, like other Islamic populations, have a high level of consanguinity.

Inbreeding affects intelligence, sanity and health. Imagine GENERATIONS of this!
Plus they really don’t want western style democracy! We need to pull out and stop wasting our money and time.

A Paki muslum and an Afghani muslum are arguing about who allah loves best and decide a race to the top of the nearest mountain will solve it. Unfortunately they both fall off the path to their deaths during the race. Who wins?

Civilisation.

It’s sick, it’s like training nazis on the US taxpayers’ dime. I don’t know if you remember but some 17 years ago, right after Karzai the muslum pig took power in Afghanistain, a muslum (is there anything else in Afghanistain but muslums) convert to Christianity was sentenced to die. After loads of political pressure was applied the Christian convert was declared mentally incompetent and sent to a mental hospital. I wonder whatever became of him?

Over half and now you think it’s a bad idea to train them here? There were plenty of muslim lands near AF that they could have trained them in!!!!!!

WHY are we training them HERE?
Keep them over there.

On the bright side, we didn’t have to waste money on training them how to land. . . oh, wait, maybe that’s a problem. Well, keep your fingers crossed, maybe they weren’t smart enough to learn how to fly.

Afghanistan.
The U.S. was training them in Afghanistan and they take our money and go AWOL.

SIGAR did not indicate whether the AWOL pilots were found. Foreign trainees going AWOL is not uncommon. Nearly half of all foreign military trainees — 152 out of 320 — gone AWOL since 2005 were from Afghanistan, SIGAR reported in 2017.

Well we all know that they only have to learn how to take off and fly as anyone can crash into a building full of infidels. And the IDIOTS allowed them into the USA to do it?? the mind boggles.

Maybe more 9/11 pilots but having served in Afghanistan I wouldn’t want to go back either. It is just one big useless, corrupt, $hithole. The gov’t there is a joke and it is the village chief’s, most of whom are functionally illiterate, that control the country.

The Russians are smarter than we are. They had enough smarts to get out at 10 years. We have been there for almost 20. Many Americans have died, been wounded physically/mentally, many commit suicide upon return, divorce rates are high. That is not the price Americans should be paying. And for what?? Get the H out of Afghanistan.

What we are really doing is training potential jihadists who may turn around and attack us at any time. This is especially the case with the Afghan savages we are training regardless of whether it’s in Afghanistan or Texas.

I know this will sound racist, but I was there and this is what happened:
On a return trip from Israel, I got stuck overnight at Orly Airport in Paris. In the early hours of the morning, I went to the Mens room to clean up and shave. A “maid” came in to sweep the floor, and I was standing there, near naked. I was embarrassed a bit, seeing her there, but she was taking it all in stride, and said something to me in French. I don’t speak French.
An Air Iran pilot told me she said “Not to worry.” So he and I started to talk, and he told me who he flew for, and I was amazed because he was an American working for (pre-revolution) Iran, and I mentioned my surprise. He said to me: The Iranians are smart, but not smart enough. They would never trust a plane load of people to be trusted to a Muslim.
To this day, I would not get on a plane piloted by anybody named Muhammed. If you know the history of Egypt Air, you would know how they lost their first plane.
