Having been one of the early targets of social media censorship on Facebook, YouTube et al, I have for quite some time advocated for anti-trust action against these bullying behemoths. But the story below shows that this is not just an American problem. The dhimmi government of Theresa May is appointing a “safety czar” to make sure the social media giants remain sharia-compliant.

Social media companies will face huge fines if they fail to live up to their “duty of care” to internet users.
The UK government is taking a hard line when it comes to online safety, moving to establish what it says is the world’s first independent regulator to keep social media companies in check.
Companies that fail to live up to requirements will face huge fines, and senior directors who are proven to have been negligent will be held personally liable. They may also find access to their sites blocked.
The new measures, designed to make the internet a safer place, were announced jointly by the Home Office and Department of Culture, Media and Sport. The introduction of the regulator is the central recommendation of a highly anticipated government white paper, titled Online Harms, published Monday in the UK.
The regulator will be tasked with ensuring social media companies tackle a range of online problems, including:
As well as applying to the major social networks, such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, the requirements will also have to be met by file-hosting sites, online forums, messaging services and search engines.
“For too long these companies have not done enough to protect users, especially children and young people, from harmful content,” UK Prime Minister Theresa May said in a statement. “We have listened to campaigners and parents, and are putting a legal duty of care on internet companies to keep people safe.”
Google and Facebook didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
The UK government is trying to decide whether to appoint an existing regulator to the job or to create a brand-new regulator position purely for this purpose. Initially the position will be funded by the tech industry, and the government is debating a levy for social media companies.
“The era of self-regulation for online companies is over,” Digital Secretary Jeremy Wright said in a statement. “Voluntary actions from industry to tackle online harms have not been applied consistently or gone far enough.”…

Boycott as we are the silent majority do people who usually like their ham salad subway need to demand it and complain they’re discriminating against non muslim customers who have had their ham subs for years without this problem . They should do both and serve both or are dis dominating against the rest of UK not ukistan

Gulag and Fascistbook have already been Sharia’ compliant for quite some time. I just wonder if the apparatchik controlling the Internet Thought Crimes bureau won’t be looking at web hosting companies or ISP’s for possible censure/punishment.

This will be the final excuse to eliminate all debate on social media. I doubt if President Trump will escape the censor. The first step is for the British voters to get rid of these tyrants and put in place a government that respects free speech rights.

Problem is we don’t have a big enough viable non anti semetic Christian Buddhist atheist Hindi Sikh etc party to vote and UKIP needs to up its game plus it needs to be anti sharia/Muslim law compliant as we’ve all had enough of of fake politicians who care only for Muslims instead of for everyone just cos they shout and threaten the loudest and are violent seething with hate even against peaceful Muslims who don’t want sharia neither and came here to get away from sharia hellhole countries
