Man convicted of terrorism at Flint airport gets life, says he regretted not killing more people

By Fox5< April 18, 2019:

FLINT, Mich. (FOX 2) – A Canadian man convicted of terrorism for nearly killing an airport police officer in Michigan was sentenced Thursday to life in prison.

Story continues below advertisement

U.S. prosecutors said Amor Ftouhi drove 1,000 miles from Montreal to the airport in Flint, Michigan, where he yelled “God is great” in Arabic [ALLAH AKBAR] and repeatedly stabbed Lt. Jeff Neville in 2017.

Investigators said Ftouhi wanted to stab Neville, take his gun and start shooting people in the airport. He legally drove into the U.S. at Champlain, New York, and arrived in Flint five days later. He tried but failed to buy a gun at a gun show and instead bought a large knife

During Thursday’s sentencing, Ftouhi told the judge that he “regretted he did not get a machine gun” and regretted he did not “kill that cop.”

He also asked for a life sentence and said he had jihad in his heart and blood and didn’t kill enough people

Ftouhi is a native of Tunisia who moved to Canada in 2007. He had a degree in sociology, worked in insurance and had no indications of being radicalized until the attack in Flint.

Prosecutors have said he told investigators his “mission was to kill and be killed.”

His defense lawyer, Joan Morgan, said Ftouhi wasn’t attempting to create mass casualties and wanted to be killed so his family could collect life insurance and so he could become a martyr.

Following Thursday’s sentencing, Neville said he thinks about what happened every day.

“I have images of that day that I see in my head,” Neville said. “I don’t hate that man. The reason I say that man is I will not say his name; it’s the one thing I won’t do. I don’t hate him but I won’t say his name.”

Neville, who was on duty at the airport, when he was approached from behind by Ftouhi and had his throate slashed.

Ftouhi, who moved to Canada in 2007, was convicted in November. He was sentenced in a federal courtroom in Flint by U.S. District Judge Matthew Leitman.

Ftouhi, a Canadian resident for 8 years, had a degree in sociology, worked in insurance and had no indications of being radicalized until he moved to the U.S.

The case was a slam dunk for federal prosecutors, who sought a life sentence. They noted that witnesses saw Ftouhi attack Neville and wrestled him to the ground.

Just give the POS capital punishment.
Why should tax payers support this POS for life and risk some liberal pardoning him?
Hell is much worse than any prison on this earth, so send him to his “paradise” asap.

It’s a SHAME that “attempted” Murderers whose Victims LIVE, thanks to Modern Medicine, are NOT executed. The Police Lt did NOT survive because this POS showed remorse- He survived d/t By-standers who Stopped the attack & GOOD Emergency care & treatment.

As a Canadian I can’t blame you. This is the insanity our country has become under that terrorist loving nutjob Trudeau who also welcomes back ISIS members.

Yes, Miss Trudy. Besides welcoming them “home”, doesn’t she also cut them checks for Ten Million Canadian Looney Dollars?

Absolutely. And even tried to hide it from Canadians so we would never know about it. Embarrassing to be a Canadian these days…

So many threats from within our own country. And the left believes that we should still offer only our sympathy to Muslims! How blind and self-deluded are they?

Did anyone bother this person in his land of origin? Why did he come? Why did he come to do harm to us? This is not right. We speak here of ideology, what the left, the progressives won’t touch upon.
Was it right of them to put us in harm’s way?
No one bothered this man. He wished to harm and murder children of God.
God made all men. He shall judge.
Who are men that they would destroy God’s creations? God imagined a tree and it became it. Power beyond our comprehension.
With that one action, are we to imagine that God could not end this Universe? Or judge it? He who knows all.
Let Him be the judge.
Leave humanity in peace.

Would that the man had stayed in Tunisia. What was his meaning that he comes to harm us? He raised his hand to strike down another man. An innocent man, who had done him no harm. That is not of God.
This began in the sixties, or so I believe at this time. The liberal party. They.
For we had not known these actions previously.
Now this poor fellow has to think about this attack daily. The is not right. It is very upsetting that haters come and do this.
This, all of it, shall not end well. Leave it and let it be, lest the results are not what were imagined.

So we provide him with a good life. Better quarters, better halal food, religious visits, conjugal visits, legal visits.. A much better life than in his own country and at our cost. He should have an accident and go to his 72 virgins in hell!

It appears he has no regrets at all.
Perhaps there will be a follow up interview in 25 years if he is still in jail. Usually people are released early.

That this Muslim who said he regretted not killing more people was sentenced to life in prison, at an expense to We The Taxpayers of at least $20,000.00 per year, is a glaringly gross miscarriage of justice and an egregious joke in bad taste.
He should have been sentenced to death by the slowest, most painful method imaginable and his execution video taped to show on prime time TV so that all other Muslims could see what will happen to them if they ever engage in such criminal insanity.
What exactly is the point of keeping someone alive who wants to kill as many of us as he can???comment image

Just send him some lipstick and rouge and he can be his own virgin pleasing Bubba the 375 lbs. negro roommate twice a day everyday for the rest of his miserable life. Hope he soon has to wear diapers and his teeth get knocked out so he can perform more efficiently. Maybe Bubba will pass him around, makes no difference to me what so ever.

He should be made to die a slow and painful death, but at least in America, unlike Canada, a ‘life’ sentence means life in prison, unlike disgraceful Canada in which a ‘life sentence’, means 15 years in some plush ‘club-fed’ resort-like institution that makes a mockery of the word ‘punishment. When a society abandons its moral compass all the sympathy goes to criminals and little or none to their victims. Such is contemporary Canada.

It may be difficult to execute anyone for terrorist acts under the law when no one was actually killed. It was just a felonious assault, but the perp should have been executed rather than given life. Now he will spread his terrorism in prison, and might some day get out, when he would become again a threat to society. Elimination of the threat would have been a far better option.
