In Toronto, Omer Aziz describes the full horror of being an innocent Muslim in the West.
Whenever someone used to ask me if I was Muslim, I often gave an evasive answer, something like, “I was born Muslim” or “My parents are Muslim.”
It was a strange way to phrase it. I told myself that the purpose of this hairsplitting was intellectual clarity, despite the fact that I had attended a mosque my entire childhood, that I had read the Quran in both Arabic and English, and that I felt personally connected to the history of Islam. Perhaps this was the natural recourse for someone who came of age after 9/11 and was taught to retreat into invisibility because of the dangers of being Muslim. I knew, in my heart, that I was drawing the distinction only to appear safer to white people, to show that I was one of the good ones, worthy of belonging.

What were the “dangers of being Muslim” in Canada? Where were all the attacks on Muslims? There has been exactly one attack on a mosque in Canada. After it, the country practically stood still, with Prime Minister Trudeau naturally in the lead, to express solidarity with Canada’s Muslims. Counting the attack in New Zealand, how many serious attacks have been carried out on mosques in the West since 9/11, that is, in nearly 20 years? Eight? Ten? Twelve? After 9/11, there were several hundred large-scale terrorist attacks by Muslims on Christian and Jewish targets, and a total of 34,500 terrorist attacks by Muslims, including attacks both on non-Muslims, and on fellow Muslims who were deemed either to be of the wrong sect (and hence, as Shi’a or Ahmadis, not “real Muslims”) or of demonstrating insufficient belief, and so could be treated as Infidels.
On Friday, nearly 50 of my fellow Muslims were massacred in cold blood in New Zealand. Not murdered but lynched, their deaths live-streamed to the sound of laughter. I long ago ceased to feel shocked at the violence directed against my community. But the heartbreak still comes.
They were not “lynched,” a word which implies a group of murderers; instead, they were killed by a single clearly insane man. Omer Aziz is no longer shocked about the “violence directed against [his] community.” He apparently does not care even to mention the much greater “violence directed” against Unbelievers by Muslims.
The killer knew which day to pick. Friday is the Islamic Sabbath, when Muslims gather in the mosque to bow their heads in devotion to the divine. As they prayed, they might have been thinking about their children at school or what to make for dinner, unaware that soon their loved ones would be washing their bodies in accordance with Islamic tradition, preparing for the funeral prayer, the only one in Islam that has no Athan, or call to prayer, because the Athan was recited into their ears when they were born. When these Muslims saw the white stranger enter the mosque, they would have had the Islamic greeting on their tongues: “Assalamu alaikum.” Peace be upon you.
Yes, the worshippers might have been thinking about their children at school or what to make for dinner. But more likely these devout worshippers would have been paying attention to the content of their prayers, which would include the Fatiha (“the Opening”), one of the most common Muslim prayers.
The final two verses of the Fatiha ask Allah:
“Guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.”
Robert Spencer notes that “the traditional Islamic understanding of this is that the ‘straight path’ is Islam — cf. Islamic apologist John Esposito’s book Islam: The Straight Path — while the path ‘of those who have evoked Allah’s anger’ are the Jews, and those who have gone ‘astray’ are the Christians.”
It would make a different impression, as Omer Aziz knows perfectly well, if instead of imagining the mosque worshippers thinking about domestic matters, he were to describe the actual prayers of these New Zealand worshippers that curse both Christians and Jews. That denunciation is not a fiction of “Islamophobes.”
We know from the terrorist’s recording that one of his first victims welcomed him with the words “Hello, brother.” Muslims have long been depicted as an uncivilized, warlike people, but the opposite is true. We want to belong, to be good neighbors, to call the white man who enters our place of worship our brother. Instead he turned out to be our executioner.
If Muslims “want to belong, to be good neighbors,” then why have so many of them, in so many lands, proven to be so murderous toward non-Muslims? Why have Muslims run down random pedestrians in Nice and Barcelona, who were “neighbors” of the attackers? Muslim killers have been murdering helpless Jews in France, from small children in Toulouse to elderly women in Paris. Those two elderly women, Sara Halimi and Mireille Knoll, were murdered by Muslim “neighbors” whom they had long befriended. Why did Muslims shoot down visitors at the Bataclan nightclub, or diners at a Cambodian restaurant in Paris? Why have so many Muslims been found to have joined grooming gangs in the U.K., targeting thousands of very young English girls for sexual exploitation, passing them around like so much candy? Why are there now many Muslim-dominated No-Go zones within Europe, where Muslims do not want to “belong” but to rule, and to expel their non-Muslim neighbors? If they “want to be good neighbors,” why do they attack so many of their non-Muslim neighbors, that those neighbors are afraid to walk outside, and many find themselves compelled to leave for safety’s sake?
Look at the places where major terrorist attacks by Muslims have taken place in Europe: Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Nice, Toulouse, Magnanville, St. Etienne du Rouvray, Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, London, Manchester, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Wurzburg, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Malmö, Helsinki, Turku, St. Petersburg, Munich, Beslan. Did the Muslims who carried out these attacks “just want to belong, to be good neighbors, to call the white man who enters [their] place of worship our brother”? Or did they have something else in mind in terrorizing the Infidels?
And major Muslim attacks have taken place here at home, too, in: New York, Boston, Washington, Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, Los Angeles, Fort Hood, San Bernardino, Little Rock, Chattanooga, Orlando. Did the Muslims responsible “just want to belong, to be good neighbors”?
Are we allowed to discuss the significance of these attacks, or must we keep from considering it lest we be denounced as “islamophobes”?
Over the past 1,400 years, have Muslims shown they wanted “to be good neighbors” as they conquered land after land, subjugating non-Muslims of every kind? They offered these new “neighbors” only three options: conversion to Islam, death, or the permanent status of dhimmi, which required them to comply with many onerous conditions, including, most notably, the payment of the Jizyah, an often financially crippling tax. Did Muslims show they wanted “to be good neighbors” when their armies, according to the Indian historian K. S. Lal, killed between 70 and 80 million Hindus during several centuries of Muslim rule? Do Muslims want to “be good neighbors” out of a genuine desire for friendship, or is it in order to solidify the position of Muslims in non-Muslim societies? Are Muslims not told in the Qur’an that they are the “best of peoples” (3:110) and non-Muslims are described as “the most vile of created beings” (98:6)? Surely they can’t ignore those Qur’anic verses, nor that verse which instructs them “not to take Jews and Christians as friends, for they are friends only with each other” (5:51). And what is the basis of friendliness of Muslims toward unwary Infidels, if not an attempt to protect and promote the faith? Real friendship with Jews and Christians is impossible, according to the Qur’an. But false friendship that furthers Islam may be encouraged. The primary Quranic verse sanctioning deception with respect to non-Muslims states: “Let believers not take for friends and allies infidels instead of believers. Whoever does this shall have no relationship left with Allah – unless you but guard yourselves against them, taking precautions.” (Quran 3:28; see also 2:173; 2:185; 4:29; 22:78; 40:28.)
Al-Tabari’s (838-923 AD) Tafsir, or Quranic exegesis, is essentially a standard reference in the entire Muslim world. Regarding 3:28, he wrote: “If you [Muslims] are under their [infidels’] authority, fearing for yourselves, behave loyally to them, with your tongue, while harbouring inner animosity for them… Allah has forbidden believers from being friendly or on intimate terms with the infidels in place of believers – except when infidels are above them [in authority]. In such a scenario, let them act friendly towards them.”
Regarding 3:28, the Islamic scholar Ibn Kathir (1301-1373) wrote: “Whoever at any time or place fears their [infidels’] evil, may protect himself through outward show.”
As proof of this, he quotes Muhammad’s companions. Abu Darda said: “Let us smile to the face of some people while our hearts curse them.”
What does Omer Aziz think of all that? Let’s make the question simpler. What does Omer Aziz think about Abu Darda’s advice to Believers: “Let us smile to the face of some people while our hearts curse them”?

Cathy, my firewall blocks your link, but Islam is hardly the only tradition with that problem: Christianity too has its share of blood on its hands. The difference is that when Moslems kill, plunder, or enslave, they do so in accord with the teachings and example of their dippy, con-artist of a “prophet” (exactly what did he prophesize, anyway?). When Christians killed in the absence of a “just war”, they did so in defiance of the teachings and example of Jesus.

Anything and everything done in the name of Christianity is nothing but a Sunday school picnic in comparison to what your precious, f’ing muslum pets have done and are still doing in the Indian sub-continent worm. Your statement is contradictory. Your first claim “Christianity too has….”, does not align with your last – “just war” and “in defiance of…”.
The times where “Christianity” was used to justify anything grotesque was always at least a perverted twisting of scripture or a outright misidentification of it, or in other words, not Christianity at all.
The key take away to your comment is the truth of your second claim including your bracketed question. As you likely know, Mohammad didn’t prophecize a thing, and that the handful of prophecies in the Koran, were added some 150yrs after his long overdue death (by poisoning at the hands of a young Jewish girl – how’s that for a dishonorable death for a mighty warlord)

Christians, Sir, have brought an end to slavery, tyranny, bloodshed throughout history. Yes, there may have been a few pretend Christians who committed outrages ,but it was certainly not because they were following the commands of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Muslims on the other hand completely rely on their Koran to justify the bloodshed and misery they have visited on the world for 1400 years.

But you forgot how cruel and inhuman muslims are to one another, and how this event was literally nothing compared to the relentless murder rates of muslims killing muslims.
If muslims truly feel persecuted by nonmuslims, they are deluded. The people who kill and maim them most are other Muslims, especially their own families because Islam is the Religion of Disrespect.

Revenge and violence have no place in religion. Only religion built on love and forgiveness is true religion. And if you only love your own, it is not true love. Christ taught to even love your enemies, and to do good to them, and pray for them. When you can do this, you know you have found true religion.

Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with the true God. I will remind you that yes Jesus said those statements, but He also said, If you go to a town and they reject you, wipe the dust of that place off your feet and do not return, don’t throw pearls to swine, if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. People think that Jesus wants people to be pacifists and let people walk all over them. But He also said to defend yourself and those who are weak. Being a Christian is not about weakness but strength and justice as well. There’s been more Christians martyred and being martyred in history and at present than any other group of people. Muslims have made Islamophobia mean something that is the opposite of what it really means. It is a reasonable thing to be afraid of Muslims, because Muslims have done more killing in the name of religion than any other group. The only other group that is in the running is Communism etc. in all it’s forms. There is no such thing as Islamophobia. Since the only people who consistently kill their neighbors, family members and anyone who doesn’t fit in with their brand of beliefs,can be killed, is Muslims. It is sensible to fear and distrust them. Even those who don’t commit violence against non- believers, often quietly support and agree with any violence against the non- believers. It is a requirement of Islam.
I believe in telling the truth and as uncomfortable and politically incorrect as it is, it is reality. I notice that the list of attacks doesn’t mention any of the attacks in Canada including the one on the parliament buildings and National Memorial. One of the early attacks in Canada is not recognized because the Muslim attacker changed his name to a French sounding name. That was the attack of the Polytechnic Institute in Quebec.

I wasn’t really trying to promote a pacifist view of things. There is “a time for peace, and a time for war”. But on the other hand a spiritual problem can only be solved with a spiritual solution. Muslims themselves are a good example of how tit for tat revenge never ends. No one wants to be drawn into that.

Islam has been at war with non-Muslim nations for over 1400
years. The belief system that is Islam has promoted domination, gender bias,
slavery, all of which is contained within the writings that constitute that
belief system. Since Islam openly preached that to be a good Muslim such a
person must reject non-believers, going so far as being violent to all those
who believe in other faiths, or do not believe in any faith, is it no wonder
that us “others” see this belief system as a clear and present danger. The
youngster, who is referred to in the article, should have been able to
recognize those factors, and be aware of why we “others” are seriously
concerned that we are facing an “enemy” of those who accept the belief system
that is Islam. His apparent lack of knowledge of those factors leaves me with
no hope that they will ever understand that their lack of respect/reverence for
others will leave us with no alternative but to consider Islam, and all those
who are brainwashed by their teaching on our guard against these people. Those are
the facts of life today.

Thinking some more on this subject article, it came to me
that there is another stand out reason us “others” need to be very concerned
about their belief system. Anti-Semitism which seems to be more palpable today
involves hatred against Jews, yet there seems to be no basis for it. The Jews
do not threaten any other groups. Their Bible, compared to the Quran, does not
threaten other groups. The Jews do not claim that they are the dominant
religion, and they do not proselytize, forcing any others to convert to
Judaism. They treat their women as equals, and they follow laws (Ten
Commandments) that respect all others. They do not promote murder and they
cannot be charged with over reaction to the fact that some would put down the
Jewish religion. On the other hand, the antithesis of Judaism and other
religions is Islamism. As should be obvious to even those of the Muslim faith,
they preach and promote all of the evils that are directed against us “others.”
To not be able to see that clear picture is either because you do not have the
mental capacity to see the obvious, or you have become brainwashed by Islam,
and, therefore, cannot see the obvious Satanism
that permeates your belief system.

The scholarship of Islamic scholar Professor Khaleel Mohammed, professor of Religion at San Diego State University and member of SDSU’s Center for Islamic and Arabic Studies is essential reading at this time. He writes that the Quran decrees that the Holy Land is destined for the Jewish people. He points out the Quranic use of the word, “written,” as it conveys “finality, decisiveness and immutability.” No mortal can overturn what has been written for another.
Muslim Author Tarek Fatah has noted in his 2010 book, The Jew Is Not My Enemy: Unveiling the Myths that Fuel Muslim Anti-Semitism, that the use of ‘written’ as divine and irrevocable decree occurs 22 times in the Quran.

The West values the freedoms of thought and speech, Islam does not, and these virtues have never blossomed under Islamic rule. Consequently, when asked about the Islamic law for apostates many Western Muslims do their best to cover up Islam’s edict. Motivated by conviction, or shame, they make up various defenses and say whatever they can to put your mind at ease and make Islam more acceptable to a naïve, gullible, and ignorant Western audience.

Exposure to Islam is abuse of the most horrific magnitude. It is child abuse,it is psychologically and mentally crippling and is by its very nature a disease that must be eradicated as completely as smallpox or rabies. It is not a religion but a carefully constructed cult that must be completely annihilated. Why anyone who has fled any of these Islamic countries would want to continue to be abused and enslaved again is simply imponderable. If they have come here and not fully and completely rejected Islam then they are here for jihad. They must be sent back immediately.

Yes, I agree,the synagogues need to be protected 24/7/365 as they are a prime target,and Passover would be an opportune time for a jihadist to strike. I have lived in Panama For Many years and the Jews in Panama always protect their synagogues and schools ,businesses and neighborhoods with armed guards trained in Israel. Christian churches need guards.I think it is time to recruit and train a special Guardian force of part-time or retired law enforcement officers to provide protection to all Christian and Jewish structures and monuments. Regardless of the lunacy of the current Pope I pray the Swiss Guard are vigilant and are protecting St.Peters and other Christian structures throughout Rome. We can expect more attacks very soon.

Like I have stated to all who will listen, you do not trust Muslims. Muslims cannot be anything other than what Islam dictates. Muslims live and breathe the Koran which is anti Judeo-Christian philosophy. Therefore, the gentile and Jew will either fight for their freedom to live or be consumed by Islam.
If America continues to allow the Constitution to be perverted by non Judeo-Christian philosophies then America dies! Muslims know this very well and will continue to invade not just America but the whole world.
