More Bad News for the Village Idiot: Ocasio-Cortez Blamed as “Biggest Villain” in Amazon HQ Pullout

29

It will haunt this imbecile for decades to come. The economic forecast shows that New York City is edging toward financial disaster. Amazon was the lifesaver.

Peggy Noonan described it this way:

Twenty-five thousand jobs lost, maybe 40,000 when all is said and done, and of all kinds—high-tech, management, white-collar, blue. All the construction, and the signs and symbols of a coming affluence: the streets lit bright, the sidewalks busy, shops and restaurants humming, hiring. The feeling of safety you have when you pass doorways on the street at night and can hear laughter and conversation on the other side.

Story continues below advertisement

This is not just “a loss,” it is a whole lost world. And it is a watershed event for my town. After Amazon’s withdrawal no major American company will open a new headquarters here for at least a generation. No CEO is going to do what Jeff Bezos did, invest all that time and money, do all the planning, negotiating and deciding, only to see it collapse in bitter headlines because the politicians you’re making the deal with can’t control their own troops, and because in the end it is summoning a humiliation to do big business in a town whose political life is dominated by a wild and rising progressive left.

“More Bad News for the Chattering Parrot: Ocasio-Cortez Blamed as ‘Biggest Villain’ in Amazon HQ Pullout,” by Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit, March 18, 2019:

More bad news for the Socialist talking parrot.

A new poll from Siena College blames Socialist Ocasio-Cortez as the biggest villain in Amazon cancelling its plans to move their headquarters to New York City.

Two-thirds of voters say the cancellation was bad for New York.

The Amazon spokesperson also blamed Ocasio-Cortez after the plan was scrapped.

Personally, I blame the idiots who voted for the village idiots.

However, I did like AOC’s claim a few weeks ago that New York could now take the billions of dollars in “tax credits” that Amazon might have gotten and spend it on other things. Believing that non-existent money somehow spontaneously bursts into existence once the evil company that might be paying other taxes goes away. This explains why democrats are always trying to destroy the economy. If they can only get rid of everyone that makes money, there will be lots of money for everyone. So, keep on voting for the village idiots and everyone will be rich when the money disappears.

Ocasio-Cortez’s success came down to demographics, a progressive ideology and a smart, unconventional focus on social media and nontraditional news outlets.

Ocasio-Cortez tailored her campaign to under represented constituencies such as Latino and younger voters. Her age and ideology may have helped her engage a large cross-section of the district’s population.

Ocasio-Cortez’s largest margin of support came from neighborhoods in western Queens like Astoria and Sunnyside that have lower Latino populations and higher white populations. It was assumed that Crowley, who is white and Irish-American, would win white voters in the election. The younger white voters who have been gentrifying western Queens helped hand the election to Ocasio-Cortez. “It’s an example of how you can’t necessarily look at elections through the lens of race and ethnicity,” said Steven Romalewski, director of the CUNY Mapping Service for the Center for Urban Research at the CUNY Graduate Center. Data show that Ocasio-Cortez also had significant support in areas with higher Latino populations.

Ocasio-Cortez ran a youth-oriented, tech-savvy campaign that may represent the future of the Democratic Party. Her campaign platform called for abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a current progressive cause, as well as supporting Medicare for All. She garnered favorable profiles from liberal outlets, such as The Intercept, HuffPost and Refinery29. Her campaign advertising included some radio but was almost entirely digital, including a campaign ad that went viral.

Corbin Trent, communications director for Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign, said that her victory was due to the perfect storm of ceaseless canvassing, endorsements and media attention.

However, the source said that her victory was also due to the strength of her campaign. “Look, it’s a credit to her. She did a very good job of organizing and in generating a turnout spike among younger voters,” the source said.

Ocasio-Cortez had indeed been canvassing and campaigning for nearly a year, and had a strong presence on social media. If yard signs are considered a traditional marker of electoral enthusiasm, tweets are their new equivalent – and Ocasio-Cortez built a large following on social media, and had many enthusiastic supporters online. (Even before the election, she had surpassed Crowley in Twitter followers.) “Everybody keeps saying ‘digital is the future of campaigns.’ It’s not the future of campaigns, it’s the present of campaigns,” said Trent.

Also very low voter turn out and an opponent that felt like he did not have to campaign.

I did recently meet a New Yorker, in Florida, who assured me that the loss of Amazon jobs in NY was a good thing, the jobs in question were not good enough. Clearly, Rep Cortez is doing great work for Northern Virginia, which I chose not to mention.
He said he had worked for one of the commuter rail lines. I then did him the undeserved courtesy of NOT asking if that rail line was taxpayer supported.

Sadly, courtesy may really be one of my worst flaws.

ROBERT FRANCIS O’ROURKE IS IN FOR 2020

Just imagine the uproar from the left if they discovered Trump had written poetry about running over children or having a cow perform bizarre and lewd acts on his private parts. Robert Francis O’Rourke gets a pass for it.

‘Beto’ is a Mexican nickname, but the Irish O’Rourke is not rejected for such cultural appropriation. After all, he looks vaguely like RFK, and that buys him a lot of tolerance. Expect him to do more silly things such as recording his dental exam or skateboarding across a stage. President Trump made fun of Beto’s habit of wildly waving his arms while speaking. As for the border walls, Beto wants to tear down those already in existence. Yes, he’s a lefty nut job and if you don’t vote for him, the world will end in 12 years.

Beto betrays the shallowness of the political left, the Democrats and very tool-head Democrat-Nazi. Ocasio-Cortez isn’t in the Village Idiot’s league. She is rabid, frothing from her gutter-mouth with antisemitic/Israel, anti-American etc. slurs while spewing pro-Jihad, treasonous statements.

I have a good hunch that she along with her manager and her boyfriend are going down like a rock. Her popularity has already took a severe hit. There is a very good chance she will be a convicted felon soon along with those other associates I mentioned. Also she would never win reelection.
