Ilhan Omar: Obama’s a ‘pretty face’ who got ‘away with murder’
Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar ripped former President Barack Obama in an interview published Friday, belittling his “pretty face” and saying his agenda of hope and change was an illusion.
Story continues below advertisementShe cited the “caging of kids” at the Mexican border and the “droning of countries around the world” on Obama’s watch — and argued that he wasn’t much different from President Trump
“We can’t be only upset with Trump,” the freshman firebrand told Politico Magazine.
“His policies are bad, but many of the people who came before him also had really bad policies. They just were more polished than he was,” Omar said.
“And that’s not what we should be looking for anymore. We don’t want anybody to get away with murder because they are polished. We want to recognize the actual policies that are behind the pretty face and the smile.”
The explosive comments about a man lionized by Democrats were only the latest in a series of incendiary statements that have put the national spotlight on Omar, a Somali-American Muslim who spent four years in a refugee camp in Kenya after her family fled the violence in their homeland.
In February, her second month in office, Omar responded to a tweet about House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy’s threats to punish her and another congresswoman for criticizing Israel.
“It’s all about the Benjamins baby,” she tweeted, a line from a Puff Daddy song about $100 bills.
Critics said Omar was perpetuating a hateful trope about Jewish Americans and money.
She recently got into another hot mess after another tweet was slammed by some as anti-Semitic.
The ensuing firestorm rattled the Democratic House majority and spurred days of recriminations and tense negotiations that led to the compromise package condemning bigotry that sailed through the House on Thursday, with only 23 Republicans voting against it.
The party’s leftist wing, led by New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, said Omar was being singled out when others at the highest levels of government had said things that were worse and escaped censure.
More moderate Dems, including Jewish lawmakers such as New York’s Eliot Engle, wanted the resolution to focus only on anti-Semitism as a direct response to Omar’s comment, which questioned the loyalty of politicians who accept donations from pro-Israel PACs and organizations.
Ultimately, after days of chaos and acrimony, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was able to unite her caucus — and box in a big majority of Republicans — to back the compromise.
And Omar — along with Rashida Tlaib of Michigan the first Muslim women in Congress — said she’s willing to keep speaking out and be a Republican punching bag if it helps advance her agenda, a prospect that likely makes many of her fellow Democrats cringe.

I don’t know about that. In normal times that would be true. This is not normal times.
Take nothing for granted. Stop letting yourself use normal times for what is going on today. The globalist agenda rejects what Trump is doing and that includes the GOP. The outcome of votes in Congress has most of the GOP going along with their insanity and Mitch isn’t pressuring them to back up Trump. Don’t be fooled into giddy complacency – believing the DEMS are a joke. DEMS thought that of Trump and look what happened. Now we are constantly censored. Our lawmakers in the USA are generally very corrupt purchased possessions. The powers that be can and do threaten them with real or imagined transgressions the mere whiff of which can get them expelled. Look at the outright treason surrounding all the characters that colluded to try to get rid of Trump, including Senators on BOTH sides of the aisle. They have already given over much of the power we vested in them to the UN/supranational bodies. Most of our laws are written primarily by and for lobbyists. If that weren’t enough; we have all these federal agencies writing endless reams of “regulations” that sidestep the Constitutional role of the House of Representatives in making law and yet are given the force of law. At this point I doubt that there is a more corrupt body on earth than our government. We know from the Bible that there are dark spiritual principalities and powers that greatly affect the peoples in any state, region, or nation. That is why we are supposed to pray for those in authority over us. In my opinion we are also supposed to try to stay abreast of what they are doing and hold them accountable. Americans are largely disinterested because they have been intentionally dumbed down.

Nearly every House Democrat on Friday opposed a measure condemning voting in U.S. elections by illegal immigrants, as part of a sweeping election reform bill.

Federal law already prohibits non-citizens from voting in elections for federal office. But the GOP motion referenced how San Francisco is allowing non-citizens, including illegal immigrants, to register to vote in school board elections.
The motion was voted down 228-197. All but six Democrats in the House voted against it.
Just one Republican opposed it.

When I first became aware she was trashing the Halfrican, I thought Omar might have at least a smattering of sense about her. But her comments are so far off target and deranged that the only difference between her and an al-Shabab gunslinger is that she doesn’t tote a rifle around on a regular basis.

We have always had corrupt officials both elected and most older Americans like me who were actually born free and miss being free know this. We have had plenty to go around within our own shores. Bush is a prime example with his unconstitutional so called Patriot Act which was an experiment to see just how much faster our freedoms could be stripped away and just how many violations Americans would tolerate under the false flag of security. Apparently being molested at the airport is just fine for little children and grannies.
Obama was the first foreign enemy. It doesn’t matter whether he was born here or not because he was raised in a 3rd world Muslim nation and taught to blame and hate America for the flaws of that nation. Now we have replaced the snake oil salesman with an openly hostile enemy of the USA in our Congress. It is one of the reasons that Obama set up enemy voting blocs across this nation with all his shipping of Muslims. I still can’t believe people fell for his lies.
I grew up outside a major city in a Jewish neighborhood as a Christian. Other than mothers freaking out that I was dating their sons which I found amusing then, I loved just about everyone. I lost count of how many Bat and Bar Mitzvahs I went to. I have never forgotten the tiny perfectly crafted frozen sherbet shaped like little fruits at one. The bowl of those frozen delights was huge and I was in heaven.
I always thought that Black people and Jewish people got along. It seemed to me that most Jewish people made an effort to get along with everyone they met. I get it. If enough people make that effort then the world would be a place where people would spend less time trying to kill them or anyone else. Imagine my surprise as an adult when the blacks I heard defended turned out to truly hate Jews even more than whites. They hate that most Jews succeed and work hard to do that. How dare any people descended from slaves ever really work again and actually profit from it? That was the gist of it. Hard work and peace? What were the Jews thinking?
I only bring that up because the most hate filled are already Muslims and once the most jealous hate filled blacks are all joined up with the Muslims based of their common goal to destroy all Jews and white Christians…let the games begin. They have forgotten about their black Christian grannies. Of course the legal Hispanics, who want what Jews want, aren’t playing along, so bring on the illegal enemies of freedom. No one would buy this movie.
I have one main prayer besides family, friends, and country prayers. That is for people to see what is right in front of their eyes and call it out for what it is. God has been answering it and wow are we all getting an eyeful, but some people just refuse to accept what they are truly seeing. They are part of the problem instead of the solution. Too many people prefer to lie to themselves and to each other than fix the problem. It requires truth.
Here come a man who loves his country, says what he thinks, does what he says, and even uses his own money for some things. He’s the enemy?

If I’m right, the kind of speeches she makes today that cause the Democrats to cringe will become before too long a cause for celebration for the same people, the party will move toward her rather than away. That’s what has happened in UK with Labour and remember both sides are only 7 hours apart. Kissing cousins.
She feels she’s “on a roll” and with a rapidly increasing and youthful Islamic demographic, her hatred for “whitey” and his government is only going to grow. As always the question is this, is American public opinion going to be more successful at arresting this trend in your country than we’ve seen so far among the people in western Europe suffering similar issues ?
