Is it any surprise that this simple-minded antisemite would turn out to be deeply corrupt? The Democrats have completely lost their moral compass. Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal would bankrupt the nation; she reflexively parrots “Palestinian” jihad talking points without having the faintest idea of what she is talking about, and now it turns out she is up to her neck in corruption as well. - Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and a top aide appear to control an outside PAC credited with being the central force behind her June 2018 primary victory.
- One former Federal Election Commission member thinks there would be a “serious investigation” if a complaint were filed, noting that the probe could potentially result in civil penalties or even jail time for Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff.
- A second former commissioner said there were possibly “multiple violations of federal campaign finance law.”
- Justice Democrats ran campaigns for Ocasio-Cortez and 11 other Democrats, but the New York Democrat was the only one to win her general election.
Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti obtained majority control of Justice Democrats PAC in December 2017, according to archived copies of the group’s website, and the two appear to retain their control of the group, according to corporate filings obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. If the Federal Election Commission (FEC) finds that the New York Democrat’s campaign operated in affiliation with the PAC, which had raised more than $1.8 million before her June 2018 primary, it would open them up to “massive reporting violations, probably at least some illegal contribution violations exceeding the lawful limits,” former FEC commissioner Brad Smith said.
Story continues below advertisementOcasio-Cortez never disclosed to the FEC that she and Chakrabarti, who served as her campaign chair, controlled the PAC while it was simultaneously supporting her primary campaign, and former FEC commissioners say the arrangement could lead to multiple campaign finance violations. The group backed 12 Democrats during the 2018 midterms, but Ocasio-Cortez was the only one of those to win her general election.
“If the facts as alleged are true, and a candidate had control over a PAC that was working to get that candidate elected, then that candidate is potentially in very big trouble and may have engaged in multiple violations of federal campaign finance law, including receiving excessive contributions,” former Republican FEC commissioner Hans von Spakovsky told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
And fellow former FEC commissioner Brad Smith told TheDCNF that if “a complaint were filed, I would think it would trigger a serious investigation.” He also noted that such a probe could potentially result in jail time for Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff, Chakrabarti.
Republican election attorney Charlie Spies told TheDCNF: “It looks like the campaign and PAC are under common control and the PAC was funding campaign staff and activities as an alter-ego of the campaign committee, which would be a blatant abuse of the PAC rules.”
Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti could face prison if the FEC determines that they knowingly and willfully withheld their ties between the campaign and the political action committee from the FEC to bypass campaign contribution limits, according to Smith.
“At minimum, there’s a lot of smoke there, and if there are really only three board members and she and [Chakrabarti] are two of them, sure looks like you can see the blaze,” Smith, a Republican, told TheDCNF. “I don’t really see any way out of it.”
Justice Democrats stated on its website from December 2017 until two weeks after Ocasio-Cortez’s June 2018 primary victory that she and Chakrabarti held “legal control” of the PAC, and corporate filings obtained by TheDCNF show that the two still serve on the three-member board of Justice Democrats on paper.
Political committees are affiliated if they are “established, financed, maintained or controlled by … the same person or group of persons,” federal election law states.

Smith said: “The admission makes it open and shut if someone wants to file a complaint with the FEC. I don’t see how the FEC could not investigate that. We’ve even got their own statement on their website that they control the organization. I don’t see how you could avoid an investigation on that.”
And if the FEC concludes that Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign and Justice Democrats were operating as affiliated committees, “then anyone who contributed over $2,700 total to her campaign and the PAC would have made an excessive contribution,” which is a campaign finance violation, Smith told TheDCNF.
Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign and Justice Democrats raised a combined $4.6 million during the 2018 midterm election cycle, FEC records show. There’s a maximum five-year prison sentence for anyone who knowingly and willfully receives a collective $25,000 or more in excessive campaign contributions in a single calendar year.
Justice Democrats raked in far more than $25,000 from individual contributors of over $2,700 after Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti took control, according to FEC records.
“If this were determined to be knowing and willful, they could be facing jail time,” Smith told TheDCNF. “Even if it’s not knowing and willful, it would be a clear civil violation of the act, which would require disgorgement of the contributions and civil penalties. I think they’ve got some real issues here.”
Spies, who served as legal counsel for Mitt Romney’s 2008 presidential campaign, said: “There are a bunch of well-funded groups on the left that file complaints on much thinner grounds than this against conservatives and Republican candidates. I hope that these so-called non-partisan groups file complaints and treat this with the same urgency that they would if it were a conservative candidate.”
Justice Democrats Went All In On Ocasio-Cortez’s Primary Campaign
Ocasio-Cortez credits Justice Democrats for recruiting her to run for Congress in May 2017. She tweeted that the group got her campaign up and running by helping “with all that stuff a normal person would need (what forms to fill out? etc).”
Ocasio-Cortez paid a combined $27,293 to Justice Democrats and to what was effectively its predecessor, Brand New Congress LLC, for administrative, staffing and overhead services from the time she declared her candidacy to her shock primary victory, according to FEC records. Ocasio-Cortez only began paying her staffers directly through her campaign beginning in March 2018, according to her campaign reports. Justice Democrats supported Ocasio-Cortez throughout her entire primary run. The group, which Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti appear to have legally controlled for much of her campaign, had raised more than $1.8 million by the time she ousted incumbent Democrat Joe Crowley.
Ocasio-Cortez was the only Justice Democrats-sponsored candidate to win her general election. She was also the only Justice Democrats-sponsored candidate to hold legal control of the PAC.
The other 11 candidates propped up by Justice Democrats lost their respective races, according to The New York Times.
Justice Democrats staffers said there were discussions to go all in for Ocasio-Cortez as early as June 2017.
Justice Democrats’ goal was for one of its sponsored candidates to defeat the incumbent, co-founder Corbin Trent told The Washington Post in June 2018, and former Justice Democrats staffer Max Berger tweeted that they established that goal in 2017.
But the PAC was advertising that it sought to replace numerous Democratic members of Congress with progressives.
Ocasio-Cortez And Chakrabarti Obtained Legal Control Of Justice Democrats
Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti, who served in multiple leadership roles within her campaign including campaign manager, were serving on the board of the Justice Democrats as early as Dec. 2, 2017, according to an archived copy of the PAC’s website.

Cenk Uygur and Kyle Kulinski of The Young Turks network were also on PAC’s board in early December 2017, but Uygur was forced out of the organization Dec. 22, 2017, after what Chakrabarti called “extremely disturbing sexist and racist statements” Uygur made in the early 2000s were unearthed….

I am not surprised. She is probably smarter than most of us think she is. She is crooked as Bernie Sanders and HRC. She just got caught sooner than they did.
As for prosecution, I’ll believe it when I see it. Have either Sanders or Clinton been charged, convicted or gone to jail? Ever?

Prosecuting the Clinton’s has become a joke. It’s sad. Lindsey had me laughing when he suggested he would look into the Clinton’s NEXT YEAR! It’s doubtful the DOJ or the latest AG will do anything. I’m with you, I doubt we’ll see anything happen there. The entire Clinton political career has been breaking laws and financially benefiting from it. I think Lindsey wants to run for President.
Like other communists, Cortez is greedy. Its okay for her to squirrel away money but not for you while she rails against capitalism and “inequality”. She’s just like Bernie. He made money – got a vacation home and use of a plane for running. Bernie and his wife ran a scam college and cleaned up on that too.

Ocasio-Cortez and her Chief of Staff are protected and enabled by the FBI, the DOJ, and needless to say, the Democrats. Corruption and treason are a quintessential element of the Democratic Party; knowing that the above mentioned and others have their interest and protection at heart.
Chatter about the possible indictment of corrupt Clinton Klan, Bernie Sanders, Obama, and others have come to naught. These vermin will never face prosecution; the corruption and betrayal run more profound than anyone dares to suspect. The Republic is in tilt mode, to ready its axis, Constitutional Law must come to the fore, or the Democratic Party will meet its objective, turning America into a Banana Republic, not the Constitutional Republic upon which it was founded.

It seems I am in the minority of those believing we are not quite a Banana Republic. I am not an optimist, in the least, but hold some hope that something will change the course in which we are heading, or the destination in which some believe we have arrived, a Banana Republic.
Honestly, admittedly, America is on the cusp of becoming a Banana Republic, but before it becomes a fact, I trust people such as those on this site and other sites to have the chutzpah to battle the Progressive tide. It may not be by ballot because of the deeply embedded corruption within the Democratic Party and its tagalong aspirant bolsheviks. Battle, meaning and out and out slug-fest, Civil War with the above mentioned.
Americans historically are blessed with resolve and do not toss in the towel with a whimper. Americans are unlike their European counterparts, surrender-monkeys. If we, We the People’ wave the white flag at this moment in our history, it will be unprecedented. If we bow to the Democrats malevolent treasonous intent to turn the Republic into a Banana Republic, accepting they have won; well, the battle is over. Then, America will become a true Third World, a bona fide Banana State.
The reaction here is, ‘they have won’ without giving pause to those before us who sacrificed all, or those who served and serve this Constitutional Republic As mentioned, I am not an optimist nor one to stick one’s head in a favorite orifice; Capitulation is not an option. If by jest or meaningful dialogue, it is not the American way to wave the flag of surrender. I, for one, choose to fight, I am sure most here will do so, as well. Nevertheless, to say we are now a Banana Republic, a Cuba, the EU is wrong until the fight is over. Sorry for my continuous narrative but that’s how I feel.

Trump is getting it from all sides. They either want him out or make him a lame duck so damaged he can’t possibly win in 2020. The GOP is just as anxious to impeach him. We are a banana republic. We have a two tier justice system. The DEMS get away with everything. The GOP lets them and both are after Trump. Trump didn’t do anything wrong. Tons of people are making money off these ridiculous investigations that we as tax payers pay for. So the Never Trumpers , GOPe and Dems are happy doing it. The President is fighting to maintain the Republic, while apparently some folks believe we have reached Banana Republic status. Methinks, Felix, this is the wrong time to give up when the one man who is fighting for his political life and this Republic’s life; hence, saying we are already a Banana Republic is counterproductive to Trump’s initiatives and the never-ending machination to overthrow him.
I fear the term Banana Republic is a slap in Trump’s face. If and when the Democrats regain power, indeed, the Republic will be a capsized, poor man’s Banana Boat. Until then, we must battle on as is Trump to prevent this from ever happening.

I believe we have reached the Banana Republic stage. It’s in the headlines every day.
It’s not just the Dems although I will say that Pelosi was honest about one thing when she stated it didn’t matter who was voted in when she was about to lose being Speaker of the House.Both parties have the same agenda. They want the status quo for managed decline as they benefit financially. I know that’s a third rail but the majority of the GOP doesn’t back Trump. A handful do but that’s about it. There is no reason why the GOP couldn’t get his agenda done in the first year. We had the majority – slim but a majority. The GOP took turns rejecting his agenda. McShame and Flake were the most useful ones for that and Ryan and Mitch made no effort to stop them. They could have bribed them with being on committees etc. but they didn’t. It’s because they agreed with them. It’s not counter productive to state that.. It’s the truth. If you can’t identify the problem, there is no way you can solve it. Trump is not a checklist conservative. He is a pragmatist. We’ll see what he can do.
Using that term, Banana Republic, is not a slap in Trump’s face. He is doing what he can and we should be grateful for whatever he can accomplish. Thankfully Trump is a fighter. He won’t give up or resign. I would definitely like to slap many Republicans in the face. I blame them more than Democrats. Democrats stick together. I don’t know what the outcome will be. I haven’t given up but I am realistic.
If Trump doesn’t get the wall up and clean up the voter rolls, I don’t see how he can win a second term. It’s rife with fraud and they have come up with other ways to unseat a legitimate winner – ranking and ballot harvesting and that is in addition to illegals voting. Our border is hemorrhaging with fake asylum claims, “abandoned kids” for chain migration and illegals literally strolling into our country. I believe the GOP won’t have the courage to impeach Trump – that would be unforgivable by the voters and jeopardize their political career. Even old Ted is getting wobbly on declaring a National Emergency and he lives in TEXAS!

The numbers coming in at the border, are staggering and they keep coming because Trump touts how we “need more people”. That’s not helpful! We don’t need more people. Requiring E-verify as mandatory when it is optional would be helpful. Since he knows he can’t get that legislated, do an Executive Order on that. You will see him writing more EOs because he knows he can’t get legislation for what he wants and the opposition can easily undo that if we get a DEM President. Of course the uniparty will fight him on that too. . Remove the incentive to come here!
Few in the swamp want to change our immigration laws. It is not to the benefit of either party. Cheap labor, donor bribes, perks and funding for the career are what is most important to them. Major corporations love VISA abuse and is another favorite to displace educated citizens for foreign replacements. L1,,J1 – you name it -there is a way to replace someone that is a legal American citizen for a cheap foreign “educated” replacement that will be trained by the person they are replacing. Colleges and Universities have fast track programs to send foreigners to companies for employment. Not everyone wants a factory job and especially those going to college and coming out with STEM degrees.
I just don’t know what the outcome will be. Trump is doing what he can but is it enough? I hope he can get eight years .I just don’t know if that will happen. Stating that is not being anti- Trump. I feel bad for him. He gets it from all directions. He had a great life and all he gets is outrageous lies and speculation thrown at him. It’s 24/7 abuse. He doesn’t deserve that. No matter what the outcome, I admire him and grateful he is our President. No other candidate he ran against would fight as hard for the voters. He tries to keep his promises.

What’s important Felix is the people back Trump. I absolutely respect your abilities and your good faith. But we are by no means a Cuba or Venezuela yet. We are definitely not a banana republic yet. Our SCOTUS have become more conservative and our military is as well. I have added to my weapons yesterday which are already considerable. There were very dark hours before we established this Republic and the work rested mainly on the shoulders of a very few. It appears history is repeating it’s self. Even at my age If called to defend against totalitarian democrats I will answer. It may not be a lot but I will do what I can.

I can remember before Obama was elected President and he stacked the FBI hierarchy with leftist criminal stooges the FBI did great work enforcing many laws. I can recall going back to the sixties they prosecuted democrats by the ton. One famous gang of democrats were caught in a sting they even had film of a democrat congressman stuffing his pockets with cash. They went to a Republican and he turned them down. Very well known I just cannot remember what it was called. Felix can you remember that?
