6 of 7 Democratic Senators Running for President Voted Against Pro-Israel Bill

Story continues below advertisement

Six of the seven Democratic Party presidential candidates in the U.S. Senate voted against a pro-Israel bill this week that would make it easier for states to oppose the “boycott, divestment, sanctions” (BDS) movement.

Some critics have called BDS not only anti-Israel, but antisemitic, because it targets only Israel and not the Palestinians, and because it singles out Israel while ignoring human rights abuses committed by its neighbors.

As Ron Kampeas of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency noted (via the Jerusalem Post):

The Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act (S.1), which the American Israel Public Affairs Committee said “contains critical pro-Israel provisions,” passed 77-23, earning yeas from every Republican but one, Rand Paul of Kentucky. It codifies $38 billion in defense assistance to Israel and provides legal cover to states that target the boycott Israel movement.

However, Democrats were split on the bill. Initially, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) even blocked the bill from coming to a vote, blaming the government shutdown at the time.

Democrats were almost evenly split on the final vote. As Kampeas notes, Sen. Amy Klobucher (D-MN), who is expected to announce her candidacy for president this weekend, was the only contender to vote for the bill.

The others — Kamala Harris (D-CA), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), and Sherrod Brown (D-OH) — all voted against the bill. Most cited free speech concerns — though anti-BDS laws have been found not to violate free speech laws. Last month, for example, a federal judge in Arkansas upheld that state’s anti-BDS law, which prevents the state from doing business with companies that boycott Israel. Even left-wing California, Harris’s home state, has an anti-BDS law in force.

A likelier reason for their “no” vote has to do with the increasing importance of anti-Israel political forces in the Democratic Party coalition.

Last month, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) appointed the avowedly anti-Israel Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) to the House Foreign Affairs Committee, despite concern over her radical views and past antisemitic rhetoric.

Booker, once a favorite of Jewish donors in the Democratic Party, has effectively switched sides on the issue after supporting President Barack Obama’s ill-fated Iran nuclear deal in 2015.

I am not sure it is possible to hand the democrats a win. As soon as they appear to show some signs of political life, they find a way shoot themselves.

Libs love free stuff!

2020 is going to be brutal.
Do not assume Trump will win.
Voter fraud will be over the top. Illegals will be voting in droves. States REFUSED Trump cleaning out voter fraud. Vote harvesting will happen in more states. Vote ranking will happen more. Understand the numbers of these creepy people has only increased since 2016 and in the midterms we have more DEM governors to look the other way for voter fraud. 2020 will not be an easy win, IF Trump does win.

Israel doesn’t need any help from Muhammadist politicians.
Muhammadist tyrannies however need help to free the enslaved Africans, tortured atheists there & protect the girls from Muhammadist forcible declitorization.

There are roughly 7.2 million jews living in America. Just over 4.6 million (64%) of them live in 11 states represented by a Senator that voted against the overwhelmingly bipartisan ant-BDS bill. American jews continue to support blatantly anti-semitic Democratic candidates. When you vote for your own self-destruction you deserve what you get.

In my opinion, Pam proves every day that she is a true
representative of free speech. I admire her for it. It’s not
necessary to agree with her political opinion, which alone
is enough to show that she is serious about it. But it also
shows that she may have recognized something for which
others are still blind. She’s, so to say, a pioneer of her time.

Pam would have enough reasons to “hate” Germans, but she doesn’t!
She must be convinced that there is no “collective guilt” at all. Human
beings are moral beings who act individually for most diverse reasons.
I would go so far that she would even allow “opinions” that would turn
the existing view of the world upside down! Only for the sake of truth!
All that, and only that, contributes to the Enlightenment! She does not
let herself be taken in, neither from left nor from right, she even has to
put up with idiotic accusations of making pacts with “white supremacists”.

The J street Dems are anti Zionists, so the BDS movement does not really bother them, it fits with their own beliefs, The Democratic Cabal is an insidious incarnation that morphs from position to position over the years, what they “believe” today, will change tomorrow. Every common sense thing will be opposed by the left, green to us is blue to them, it’s really green but they will argue to death that lt;s blue. They are contrary where illegal is good and law abiding is bad.

Podhoretz’s 2009 book “Why Are Jews Liberals?” questions why American Jews for decades have been dependable Democrats. I was taught that words have meanings, and in a given context, a word must be given one and only one meaning. There’s something wrong here. Let’s check our definitions.
Norman Podhoretz was not an observant Jew, but instead, …”was nonetheless conversant in “the intellectual tradition of his people”, as “a nonobservant New World Jew who … treasured the Hebraic tradition”. (New World = Globalist?)
So maybe many of those secular people in the Democrat Party, especially in the leadership, with Jewish names, are not really Jews in any meaningful sense of the word.. And maybe they are not liberals, but instead, illiberal leftists.
So the next question is: Why do so many secular people with Jewish names hate Israel, and the United States, as those countries are presently constituted? Do Schumer, Schiff, Feinstein, Wasserman-Schultz, Rosenthal, etc., represent a perversion of a secular religion? And is the disgust many right leaning intellectuals, including observant Jews, feel for them a new form of anti-semitism? Is there logically such a thing as an anti-Semitic Jew, e.g., Marx or Soros?
Maybe these people are neither Jewish nor Democrats. Maybe if the above named individuals would kindly change their names to Smith, Jones and Brown, observant Jews would stop voting for them, but then again, maybe not. What’s worse, by changing their names, they might actually get even more votes, but now from the anti-Semites in the Afro-American and Muslim-American communities. Oh Vey!

I notice that many of the involved Democrats are of Irish ancestry. The Irish, long under control of the Catholic Church, are amongst the most anti-Israeli factions in the UN and on the world political stage. No surprise there considering the CC’s long history of antipathy towards the Jews.

I am a completely apolitical person. I have my “opinions”,
I vote for a conservative party, but I am not a member of
any party, organization, association or anything like that.

My statements are completely harmless compared to others,
I do not call for violence. I am far too unimportant for people
who spy on dangers to their systems of power. They can’t
waste their time with a person like me. Who’s gonna pay?

In addition there is a lack of specific information like name,
address etc. They can’t even guarantee with one hundred
percent whether the pics I post actually match my identity.

The pictures are single photos, which can’t be found anywhere else,
partly snapshots, years or even decades ago. Perhaps the child de-
picted has been wearing glasses for a long time and now looks com-
pletely different? Who knows who my long-dead grandmother was?

The problem is we all take ourselves far too seriously. We should be
less paranoid. When I would get into trouble, I will refer to my good
relations to Jewish personalities, and they will promptly let me alone.
