Ben Stein Claims Hitler Promised the ‘Same Kinds of Things’ as Ocasio-Cortez
Actor Ben Stein dropped some hard truths about the promises being peddled by some of the new members of Congress, including Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).
The newly elected congresswoman was a member of the Democratic Socialists of America and a lot of her political talking points can be traced back to these socialist roots: Medicare-for-all, mobilizing the economy to fight climate change, and elevating the marginal tax rates for the wealthy.
Many of these programs promise free services from the government at the expense of the wealthy. Because of this, a key tenant of these programs is villainizing the accumulation of wealth.
Looking at it from a historical lense, Stein told Fox Business that many of the promises of Ocasio-Cortez were delivered by some of the worst figures in history.

“We have a society, live in a society in which there are an awful lot of people who have no idea that Stalin, Hitler, Mao Zedong, all came to power promising the same kinds of things that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is promising. And it led to mass murder. It led to dictatorship. It led to genocide. These promises are all promises and they unvaryingly lead to bad things. The promise of just saying to people ‘do what you can within the law to make your life better and your family’s life better.’ That system works extremely well.”
As Stein noted, there are many Americans who aren’t aware of some of the more ghastly figures in history. For example, two-thirds of millennials don’t know what happened at Auschwitz according to a report by the Washington Post. Another study showed millennials also believed that former President George W. Bush killed more people than Stalin.
Stein also expressed concern at the percent of Americans who view capitalism as a bad thing. As IJR previously reported, more Democrats have a higher opinion of socialism than they do of capitalism.
“Capitalism is a system that allows people to make something of themselves instead of oppressing other people,” Stein said. “It’s an incredibly good system. Making money is one of the most harmless things there is to do in the whole world and that’s what our society’s about.”
Stein extended the logic of equal-outcome socialism, saying:
“What do you do if a person is a richer or poorer person? What do you do? Do you take him away? Do you shoot him? Well, that’s what the communists tried, it didn’t work out very well for them. And at the end of the day, it wound up Russia’s one of the most unequal societies there’s ever been in the world.”
Stein noted that these lofty promises often go unfulfilled.

Most people may only remember Ben Stein for his TV and film roles but the truth is Ben Stein is an extremely intelligent man. Stein’s insightfulness regarding Ocasio-Cortez’s juxtaposition with Hitler is not a theory but fact.
Everyone on this site and others are aware of this woman’s threat to the Republic’s security, sovereignty and more so the citizens’ Constitutional Rights. Anti-Semitism is rife now but the likes of Ocasio-Cortez and the autocratic endeavors of the Democrats and those of the extreme-left/Fascist diktat, of which I believe are the majority, the parallel with Hitler’s Nazism will solidify.
Ocasio-Cortez is not the sole threat to American Jews, Israel, or other everyday Americans’ Constitutional Rights, it is the entirety of the treasonous, racist Democratic Party. It is mentioned numerous times that today’s America and the West’s quasi-Democracies mirror the horrors of 1930 Germany; the Nuremberg Laws. Most unsettling is Americans are the only ones who can stop this nation from becoming that which the Democrats desire, a totalitarian state. I, for one, hold little faith in the political savviness, the acumen of the electorate.

The reason most (or some) don’t have any idea about socialism is because they no longer teach history in school. They need to get back to “teaching” not indoctrination. Hate to tell you this BUT…
A global government does exactly what socialism/communism does; concentrate power in a few areas that can be taken over by a relatively few people.
Global government won’t work for the exact same reason states like Florida and Montana don’t have the same needs and wants, therefor cannot live under the exact same laws and governmental systems. Of what use for instance, is mandatory hurricane proofing a house in Montana, or the need to insulate a home for -40 weather in Florida.
And while religion has its faults, every atheist country we’ve seen have become brutal dictatorships with no regard for human life, individuals or groups.
You can’t prove that life is too short for capitalism, but we have 100% proof pretty much every other system SHORTENS lives, many times with a bullet to the back of the head.
And have you ever BEEN to countries other than the U.S./Western civilization? The rest of the world, Russia and China included, are ecological DISASTERS, polluted up the wazoo.
Until you can find a country better than capitalism America, nobody wants to hear it.
And please don’t use Canada because I’m Canadian, nearly 60, and if I wasn’t so busy trying to get rid of the socialist turds that have taken over this country whenever the liberals are in, I’d claim refugee status in America in a heart beat.

I used to think the reason people yap about how evil America is, and how great all these countries that were absolute dictatorships, (Like Cuba) are, was because they only “heard” about these places from biased sources.
After sailing around the world, living in some countries for more than just a couple tourist weeks and REALLY getting to know a culture, I tried to explain to people back home that these places are not dictatorships because of American interference, but because in their societies what we consider corruption, they see absolutely nothing wrong with doing.
Called “baksheesh” throughout the Muslim world, India has its version, as does every Asian, African, and Latin American country I’ve been in.
We call it, “Greasing the palms.” and tourists pretty much never figure it out, because they’re not in these countries long enough.
Getting boat parts is a perfect example. Here, you order a part, pay stated costs, shipping and duties or taxes, and you get the part.
In the baksheesh countries, that’s just the start. Once your part arrives, usually after a lengthy wait, there’ll be a little problem at Customs, where you’ll have to pay some guy to locate the part, another guy to expedite filling out the proper paperwork, and then his boss to officiate the paperwork, and to top that all off, none of these people will be in the same place or building and you’ll have to pass through some guy standing at a gate between all of these places, whose sole income is to collect a fee every single solitary time you pass through that gate.
And the thing is, locals get the “local” corruption rate, while foreigners get the “foreigner” corruption rate.
I’ve tried to explain that over and over, and thought, NOT being a “biased” American, my word would carry a bit more weight when comparing such places to the U.S.
Nope.
All I get is “America bad. Bad, bad America make world bad so all America fault. Bad bad. Ugh.”
And as a Canadian, I know plenty of people who’ve been to Cuba. There are stores there and have everything, BUT ONLY TOURISTS CAN SHOP IN THEM. You have to present your passport to enter, so locals ask tourists, instead of tipping, to shop in these stores for things like toothpaste and toilet paper.
Then these tourists come home and ACTUALLY BRAG how magnanimous they were, helping some local family out with “gifts” of toothpaste, toilet paper, and EVEN tampons.
About then’s when I pop, asking “So you wouldn’t see anything wrong with us having to beg foreign tourists to buy toiletries and whatnot for us because the Canadian government forbids us from going into our own stores?”
Unfortunately, as events this past week have once again proven, people can have both the lie, and irrefutable truth, right in front of their faces, and plenty will still accept and justify the lie.
By the way.
We were attacked by Muslim pirates several times between Australia and Egypt, and in the Arabian Sea, if the U.S.Navy – as in “God Bless the…” – hadn’t shown up I’d be a few thousand feet shy of sea level so, I want to thank you and your military.
The Canadian navy didn’t have its canoe stationed in that part of the world then.

I believe that about 1998 the saudi king boasted in an arabic broadcast that he would place a moslem in the White House. The arab emirates then corrupted almost every member of the Senate and Congress prior to installing obama to make it smooth sailing for him to put islamists at the head of most agencies. Now they all know they are guilty of treason and that is why there is such animosity towards our President Trump.

From what I was able to research, the above quote was not by Hitler. It is attributed to George Strasser, a prominent Nazi official and politician. I couldn’t agree more that AOC is a threat to our great republic and unfortunately she is my representative. The quote accurately sums up Hiler’s ideology. I only mention this so that the Left won’t jump on that meme and say it isn’t true.

William O. Douglas, in his book “Strange Lands And Friendly People”, noted that the spread of Communism was possible because the bulk of the ordinary people of a given country could be easily influenced with the promise of something for free.
One only has to watch late night TV to see that every ad offers something for “free”; if you just pay a separate fee.

This insidious Aijahlon wants, for some motive of , convince you otherwise- and comes up with undocumented German/Russian “evidence” to convince you otherwise.
Say, do you also deny the genocide of Armenians at the hands of the Turks during WW I? Hey- guess what “religion” the Ottomans had? I’m sure you can come up with something from the Ottoman archives- in Turkish, no less- to “prove” that didn’t happen either.

For Aijaholon, or anyone who might be tempted to give a scintilla of credence to Aijahlon’s “evidence” from the Red Cross, I offer this, from Ref 1 below, which notes that th 300,000 figure was for German nationals only:

Wiesethal is not a fraud, and you have produced no evidence to support your baseless calumny against them. I believe are scrupulous about their fact checking, and other than your say so- you have produced nothing to suggest my confidence in them is misplaced.
They never reported what they saw in their visits to “the camps” and I suspect you know it, but you find it convenient to lump the death camps with POW camps. Nice try, liar, but it just doesn’t fly. In fact, it stinks.
Interesting that the Red Cross did not release its records from WW II until the 1990’s. Here is what the NY Times had to say about their release of information (Ref 2 below):

Authentic German documents confirm the slaughter of Jews in the millions. The famous “Korherr Report,”(named after Richard Korherr, chief statistician for the SS) puts the number of Jewish losses at more than 2,454,000 by the end of 1942 alone. The war in Europe would not end until May, 1945.

Wiesenthal Center makes clear that your less than 300,00 figure, which you tried to peddle in German as some sort of total, referred to GERMANS NOT POLES, or Hungarians, Czechs, Bulgarians, etc, whose Jews were transported to the death camps. [Yes, yes, I know, pedants might refer to Auschwitz as not a death camp, as people were enslaved there before they were “selected” for death.]
Again, show me where the Red Cross claims the Nazis murdered less than 300,000 Jews in total (not just German nationals). YOU CANNOT DO IT, YOU LIAR! (even after you disingenuously tried to palm off some German language report in a totally false manner).

But the most disturbing part of this story is she is just a drop in the bucket compared to the millions of 20-40 year old know-nothings with a worthless college degree in one hand and their other hand formed into a defiant fist. Our oh so benevolent public school system made sure they look respectable and intelligent but filled their minds full of mush and ensured they would never have a single critical thought in any of their collective silly little heads. AOC is really another Hillary Clinton in the making: expensive school, media darling and the most important ingredient, absolute hatred of her home country. I have a suggestion. Let’s everybody send in $10 and create a fund to send AOC a one way ticket to Cuba or Venezuela, make her a regular citizen (not a revolutionary rabble-rouser with ties to the Marxist government,) and force her to live like everybody else for a good six months. Let her go without food and toilet paper for months on end and then let her come back and share with us what she has learned.

What minority population? If you’re referring to the Jews, their council, six years before Hitler won the election, declared war on Germany in a move similar to ISIS declaring jihad against the United States today. Their leaders also made a deal to immigrate out of Germany, although they charged their members for the travel expenses. Those who didn’t leave were running free in a country they had declared war on. Germany was at war with Poland because Poland was murdering and pillaging German ex-pats in Danzig who had voted to be returned to Germany as per the Treaty of Versailles. The extermination going on was the starvation and typhus that occurred when allies bombed the supply lines to the camps. There was no Holocaust, you don’t pay to round people up, put them on a train under armed guard, transport them hundreds of miles to put them in a camp that requires further security expense just to kill them, especially while fighting a war. You’d do as Stalin did and shoot where they were found and keep moving. Wake-up.

I’ve often felt fortunate to be on “the back nine”. However, do I really want to miss out on all of the fun? I’m still holding an eight inch pattern, at eight hundred yards, with a my .300 RUM (as of October last). It might prove somewhat amusing. And, most of the old fart homes have gone full-blown nonsmoking.

Yesterday, point of fact last night, I did my normal blending. Two pounds of Latakia, two pounds of ribbon cut bright Virginia, one pound of oriental, and a quarter pound perique. Been smokin’ that for years … but, last night I got a hair and … just to break up what I’ve been smoking for decades … turned it from an English mixture to a Scottish mixture … tossed in a pound of nonaromatic Cavendish …. haven’t done that for years. Let it marry for around two months then break it down into quarts. Typically, that’s around a two to three (sometimes as long as four) month supply. Without ‘baccy, what good is it to be as randy as a fifteen year old boy?

It’s been fun reading the comments of a bunch of scared old twits who must just be quaking in their slippers at the thought that they share a border with a country like Canada, what with its socialized medicine, higher tax rates and inevitable slide into whatever Nazi-esque, atrocity-filled regime you think is going to happen here. Study the current German economy; that’s what AOC is pushing for. The thought that Germany is going to become a genocidal socialist dictatorship again is laughable.
Meanwhile, we have a narcissistic, soulless idiot sitting in the White House who acts like he’s a mob boss, because he spent too much of his life associating with those types and now he fancies himself one. Fortunately, that puke isn’t actually smart enough to be Hitler, and there’s enough pushback from reasonable people here for him to ever accomplish anything seen in the Third Reich, so I’m not too worried about it.
