This is an example of the cultural self-abnegation that the left is forcing upon the nation. In the first place, the idea that candy canes stand for Jesus is absurd. While it may have been true in the past or among some people, it is hardly widely known today, and the principal’s action is absurd. But even worse is her ban on Christmas-themed material so as not to offend non-Christians. I’m a proud Jew and I’ve never been offended by Christmas celebrations. Jennifer Sinclair is only afraid of offending Muslims, who would never, ever give up their own cultural or religious observances to avoid offending non-Muslims. All people are allowed to be proud of his or her culture except those in the West. It’s a recipe for cultural suicide and destruction.

An elementary school principal in Nebraska was placed on leave after telling teachers to avoid decorating their classrooms with Christmas-themed ornaments so as not to offend those who don’t celebrate the holiday.
Story continues below advertisementThe principal at Manchester Elementary School, identified by Fox affiliate KPTM as Jennifer Sinclair, sent out a memo earlier this week with guidelines as to what is considered appropriate for classroom decorations and assignments.
Teachers reportedly were told that generic winter-themed items, such as sledding and scarves, and the “Frozen” character Olaf, were acceptable.
Decorations that included Santa, Christmas trees, reindeer, green and red items and even candy canes, however, were not acceptable for the elementary school.
The candy canes, according to KETV, were prohibited because Sinclair deemed them to have religious significance. “Historically, the shape is a ‘J’ for Jesus. The red is for the blood of Christ, and the white is a symbol of his resurrection,” she reportedly wrote. “This would also include different colored candy canes.”
“I feel uncomfortable that I have to get this specific, but for everyone’s comfort, I will,” Sinclair reportedly wrote in the memo….

Ms Sinclair, has been drinking the leftist/muslim Kool Aid to the point she can’t even make rational decisions. Perhaps the teachers and parents at Manchester Elementary school can start a fund for Ms Sinclair to have a first class plane ticket bought for her, so she can be sent to the most repressive islamic regime of her choosing where she can live with people she most admires. Either that, or an extended stay at the nearest mental hospital, where she can undergo some intensive de-programming.

Another nail in the coffin of this once Great Nation. We will soon be like G.B., Germany and France. I truly do not understand the Democrat fascination with socialism, communism, and muslims – don’t they understand that every non-muslim must either be enslaved or killed according to muslim beliefs? Haven’t they studied the nations that have tried those forms of governments? Or are they so brain-dead that they think that WE can finally do it right?
On another note, Thank you Ezekiel for your donation, and it is appreciated by all of us ‘Deplorables!’ Sadly, I choose to NOT support the NFL. I never got another “A” on my report card after then, all the way through H.S. Decades later, I met her nephew at my workplace. He said she was a real bitch. Well DG, my guess, is that Nebraska just doesn’t have the lure as other states do. It doesn’t have the oil, like North Dakota does. It’s not a coastal state. It doesn’t have any significant national parks, or national landmarks to visit. It doesn’t have anything that it’s known for. It’s cold as hell in the winter and it doesn’t have any known good places to ski. It’s not a place to spend the summers. I’m sure the cost of living is cheaper than, say, in CA or NY but, its just a state people seem to avoid and have to drive through on their way to somewhere else. Sorry to all you Nebraskans….

There should be no nod towards any religious belief or custom in public schools at all. We can study religion, comparitively, but we should not endorse it in any way. This would include schools, as well as government offices. This is a micro-agression on the part of Christians that they will never understand.
But don’t lie to kids. You tell them there is Santa Claus, as well as an Easter Bunny, and eventually they will learn the truth, that their parents lied. Be honest with kids. Let them know the importance of a holiday from their parents, but with honesty. They can get this at their church, especially, as that is their purpose. But don’t lie to kids about ficticious characters. They may grow up to believe that religion, in it’s entirety, is a hoax.
The story of Christmas is an arbitrary Christian holiday that may come in December or January, but nobody knows for sure, just as we don’t even know for sure Jesus was a real person, or put together by the Greeks some centuries later. The bible is not proof of anything except as a guide to better behavior. It was written by man, and is subject to faults, just as man is.
