NY Democrat Congressional candidate Antonio Delgado says Israel is not a “Jewish democracy”

12

I have long said the Democrats are the party of jihad and Jew-hatred, eliciting the well-worn catcalls and caterwauling of the left-wing smear merchants and goosestepping trolls. But no matter silky smooth the silver-tongued snakes are, reality keeps breaking through. The Democrats’ vicious Jew-hatred is increasingly on display. The party of treason is home to the Jew-haters and racists. What is shameful about this is that Antonio Delgado’s views are mainstream in the Democrat Party today. He should never have been chosen as a candidate for Congress with hateful views of this kind, but this is the way the Democrat leadership, and the Democrat base, thinks. They want candidates like Antonio Delgado. And they know they’ll win, because this is their base today.

“Democratic candidate says Israel is not a ‘Jewish democracy,'” by Elad Benari, Arutz Sheva, October 24, 2018 (thanks to Mark):

A Democratic congressional candidate in New York is under fire for denying Israel is a “Jewish democracy” during a debate against his Republican opponent.

Antonio Delgado, who is running against Rep. John Faso in New York’s 19th Congressional District, made the comment during debate on Monday, reported The Washington Free Beacon.

Delgado, who said his wife and children are Jewish, was asked at the debate whether he agreed with President Donald Trump’s decision to relocate the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

He replied by saying that he does not agree with the move and explained his position, saying, “The capital of Israel ought to be in Jerusalem and I think that to get there we should do it on a multinational basis. I think that unilaterally moving in that direction sends the wrong signal.”

Delgado then claimed that “being pro-Israel and being pro-peace is critical, but I’m also pro-democracy, and as currently constructed, Israel is not a Jewish democracy. Those settlements make it so that it can’t be.”

Faso, who was surprised by Delgado’s remarks, replied, “Israel is not a democracy? Israel is a strong democracy. It is a vibrant democracy. It has got a vibrant free enterprise system. It has got a vibrant agricultural system and culture. Israel is a democracy.”

Faso pointed out that Israel is “our main democratic ally in that region and in fact, moving the embassy to Jerusalem was the right decision.”

He admitted to having some difference with Trump but stressed the president’s decision to move the embassy was the right one because “that is the capital of Israel. They are our main ally in the Middle East.”

Faso warned that taking the position that Israel is not a democracy as Delgado did is dangerous.

“He supports the Iran deal. Millions of dollars went to the Iranian regime and they are the main fomenter of dispute and discord and war in that region. They are a threat to the State of Israel. I’m astonished he does not believe Israel is a democracy,” continued Faso.

Delgado then fired back by clarifying that he said Israel is not a “Jewish democracy” and explained, “Given the fact that we have settlements currently in the region, it cannot be deemed a nation of Jewish democracy and until we deal with the settlements we’re going to have that issue.”

Faso pointed out that Israeli Arabs and other minorities are represented in the Israeli Knesset and said, “Israel is a Jewish state, and to follow the approach that Mr. Delgado wants it would no longer be a Jewish state. It’s a really outrageous misinformation that the gentleman holds, but it shows how dangerous his views are on foreign policy.”

Prior to being a congressional candidate, Delgado was a rapper and six-figure lawyer at Akin Gump, a top-50 law firm that was the largest lobbying firm by revenue in the United States in 2017.

US President Donald Trump announced last December that the US recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and would be relocating its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The embassy officially relocated on May 14, the day on which the State of Israel was established in 1948.

The Palestinian Authority (PA), angered by Trump’s move, broke off contact with the US after the announcement and to this day refuses to consider the Trump administration an honest broker for peace negotiations with Israel….

Israel is a beautiful example of a democracy. As a sovereign country the U.S. does not need the permission of other countries as to where we put our embassy. Jerusalem has always been the capital of Israel. By not having the U.S. embassy there didn’t achieve peace and by moving our embassy there will not retard peace. Where I think Israel made a mistake was not making it a Jewish country. Israel is a secular country with Judaism as the majority religion. I think they should have kept Israel as a totally Jewish country. So Judaism is the dominant religion and for sure a democracy!

As an outside observer, through the incessant drivel and lies spoken by the likes of Antonio Delgado, it is my opinion today that as a group black American are one of the most racists groups on planet earth. It’s hard to imagine a fool like Delgado actually completing high school, let alone completing law school. How th4 devil did he qualify for law school? Through a ‘lucky dip’ package? Anyone with their mental faculties in place would be embarrassed to spout the type of utter drivel spoken by Delgado.

What an odd thing to say. We are either ignorant or just plain stupid. the last time I checked Israel is home to Jews, Catholics, Eastern Orthodox Christians, and Muslims to name a few. All citizens can own property, businesses, and vote. Is not the mayor of Nazareth a Muslim? Try this out in Gaza, Iran, the West Bank, or any other Arab state for that matter.

Jews in America do not define Israel. There is a schism between us. Some Jews are just secular Americans and never think of Israel. We usually call the Democrats, or worse.
Democracy is also another matter that needs definition. You have several types. A pure democracy would be mob rule. It is barren of defense of the little guy. The will of the group is what is followed. We in the US have seen this in the lynchings we had in the past. Another version of Democracy is the opposite of Totalitarianism. So, in order to have the democracy that we enjoy, we have a Constitutional Republic which comes with rules for fair play.
In the US, we have several political parties, but we call it a two party system. In Israel, there are many more. So, yes, there are different rules for Israel, just as any other country. That is nothing to deny. But some Leftists here in America have a problem in that they believe there might be Apartheidt in Israel. While you can’t change peoples thoughts, you must also realize those thoughts are false. We know that Arabs in Israel have gotten advanced degrees and work in the military, medical professions, as well as lawyers. They are working hand in hand with the Jews.
American Jews are losing their Judaism through intermarriage. It is sad, but as it happens, we get idiots like Delgado who claims to be married to a Jew and have Jewish children and that qualifies him to make such statements. Consider the source, and you realize that like Germany, Jews will be sold out because they trusted their party. And their party only wants them because they vote for them.
So, after visiting Israel, and watching mad-house politics, I realize this is more moral than what we Americans have. Israel allows somee parties legitimacy they could never have in America. Perhaps Delgado needs a lesson in this subject? Or is he speaking from the hateful side?
