‘Press Freedom Has Limits’ – EU Boss Says Journos Must ‘Respect’ Politicians

The EU escalates its war on freedom.  The control of speech is essential to totalitarianism. Unelected and autocratic – EU President Drunker is imposing his totalitarian goals without firing a shot. Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin et al would be pea-green with envy.

‘Press Freedom Also Has Its Limits’ – EU Boss Says UK Journalists Must Respect ‘Human Rights’ of Politicians

By Jack Montgomery, Breitbart, October 6, 2018:

President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker has said that press freedom should “have limits” and expressed regret that the EU did not “intervene” in the Brexit referendum to make sure “the right questions” entered the debate.

As head of the European Commission — a wholly unelected body which serves as the EU’s executive as well as the sole initiator of EU-level legislation — Juncker is one of the continent’s most powerful men, enjoying a far more influential position than he could have enjoyed in a Europe of nation-states where he could not have risen above his former position as Prime Minister of Luxembourg.

Story continues below advertisement

The controversial eurocrat has appeared increasingly rancorous as his term has drawn to a close in the wake of the Brexit referendum, with pro-sovereignty populist parties on the rise across Europe — expressing bitterness over his treatment by the British press and the fact that he has been blamed for Britains decision to walk away from Brussels.

“The British press is such that I will not miss it… they do not respect the human rights of political actors at all,” he told a group of Austrian journalists during a visit to Vienna.

“Press freedom also has its limits,” he added darkly, suggesting journalists should be able to “feel what you are allowed to do, what you need to do” and not shine a light on politicians’ personal issues.

President Juncker has, famously, been subject to a great deal of press commentary on the subject of his alleged alcoholism and occasionally erratic behaviour at international summits, as well as his family links to the Nazi regime.

n the subject of the EU referendum in particular, Juncker expressed his regret that the European Commission had granted former prime minister David Cameron’s request not to “interfere” in the referendum, which he went on to lose.

“If the Commission intervened [in the referendum], perhaps the right questions would have entered the debate,” the 63-year-old complained.

“Now you discover new problems almost daily, on both sides. At that time, it was already clear to us what trials and tribulations this pitiful vote of the British would lead to,” he sneered.

He seemed particularly annoyed at the suggestion his name would be associated with the first exit from the EU of a full member-state, and was vehemently denied that he should take a portion of the blame: “I am always amazed about what I am always blamed for.”

Juncker’s comments on the “limits” of press freedom may be part of an emerging narrative, with his Justice Commissioner having also suggested “smart regulation” to curb the increasing popularity of what she described as the “bad version of nationalism” recently, and complaining about a number of EU-critical articles in the British press.

What are his comments on Victoria Marinova? For those who have no idea what I’m talking about, she was a 30-year old journalist who was raped and murdered over the weekend. Some in the European Parliament have called for an investigation, as at the time that Marinova was killed, she was presenting a series on embezzlement.

When you read this piece and watch the clip, if you’re a non European you might begin to understand why that drunk is so hated by the populist right. A study of the laws nodded through together with their effect on peoples lives during the last 30 years by him and the other unelected creeps would confirm your suspicions.

Drunk on booze and totally drunk on unregulated enelected power.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

deported christians back to ISIS to be slaughtered after they tried to make it to America http://tinyurl.com/mtc3xch

Oh my…
How do others keep a straight face?
I saw DJT and Melania quickly walk by. I would not have been able to keep a straight face had I been them.

Cheep up, We have Hillary and Ginsburg, a United States Supreme Court Justice that can’t stay awake and ALWAYS looks confused. She is an alcoholic. Of course we’ve all seen Hillary stumbling around and eyes going in different different directions and out of place shrill laughter.

The “Gleichschaltung” of the media (i.e. the regulation by the government of the way the press, radio and tv report the news) can be seen and heard all over the EU. Every time there is a stabbing, a shooting, an individual driving a vehicle into a crowd, the media unanimously report that the perpetrator suffer from diabetes and low sugar levels, is emotionally disturbed and more BS like that. The fact that such “French” or “Germans” yell “Allahu-akhbar” is hushed up as much as possible.
This “Gleichschaltung” of the media happened already in Germany in 1933 and continued functioning in the former GDR, in the former Soviet Union, North Korea, Turkey under Erdogan…
Is there still freedom of the press in the EU? Not really…Readers’ comments that are too critical are rejected, political TV talk shows are manipulated and the audience in the studio (who sheepishly applaud after each cue) is carefully selected and (too) critical questions to politicians are absolutely taboo.

Many believe that all of the West has free speech. This is not true. Only the USA guarantees Free speech. Even our neighbor up north, Canada can imprison people for what they deem hateful speech. Europe is even worse and the intolerant left wants to become more like Europe or even the old Soviet Union? Go figure.

DO not listen to this hook-nose ufcker. He’s not even elected and it is possible he is your WORSE MORON. The fatherless kind. The kind of guy that got picked in school and now looking for REVENGE on your society much like Trudeau on Canada for seeing his mother’s exposed bits.

Somehow, the NERDS and SPOILT BRATS got control of your institutions. These people need to be PUNCHED in the mouth to make up for all the lack of spanking they never got from daddy.

ONE PUNCH – ONE KO can prevent a tragedy on your countries and wars.

Remember what Mike Tyson said? Everyone has a plan – till they get PUNCHED IN THE FACE. Maybe that is all is needed to make these MORONS and SPOILT BRATS understand.

However, being a principled man I suggest you never punch lieberals. You punch men but slap the girlie ones. They are not worthy of a punch. 😉

I think freedom of speech DOES come with responsibility, but on the other hand, I think restricting it in any, way, shape or form will only set a very dangerous precedent for any democracy.

True liberty is unconditional.
