Trump vs.Trump

In purely pragmatic terms, he is his own worst enemy. No matter his substantial and significant achievements (e.g., the nomination itself), he has no self-control and allows his emotions to drive his actions.

If the Kavanaugh nomination sinks we’ll never know if last night’s Mississippi indulgence contributed (or how much), but it certainly did not help.

When one’s friends find fault and eschew the customary excuses and apologies, it’s clear that one done wrong.

“. . . for  want of a nail the shoe was lost, for want of a shoe the horse was lost; and for loss of a horse the rider was lost.” ( Benjamin Franklin, Poor Richard’s Almanac.).

Because of a few minutes of revealed lack of self-esteem and its handmaid insecurity, who knows what may have been lost to the Court, the Constitution, and our Republic?

To quote the President: “Sad!”
