RBPF Nassau: Police investigates shooting incident - Illegal drugs, firearm and ammunition recovered

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on the Island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident Tuesday, 18th September, 2018, which left an adult male with injuries.

Shortly after before 9:00am, a male was standing on the outside of his residence on Bowe Alley off Finlayson Street, when he got into a verbal altercation with another man, who produced a firearm and shot him before running away. The victim was transported to hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL DRUGS, FIREARM AND AMMUNITION RECOVERED

The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to a quantity of dangerous drugs, firearm and ammunition being taken from the streets of New Providence, in separate incidents, Tuesday, 18th September, 2018.

In the first incident, shortly after 12:00noon, Anti-Gang and Firearms Officers, acting on information conducted a search of a vacant lot on Hospital Lane and recovered a plastic bag which contained suspected marijuana. 

Weight of drugs: 2 lbs.
Valued at $2,000.00

In the second incident, shortly after 2:00pm, Anti-Gang and Firearms Officer, acting on information conducted a search of a vacant lot at Sandy Lane off Burial Ground Corner and recovered a silver and black 9 millimeter pistol and two rounds of ammunition.

No arrests were made in these incidents. Investigations are ongoing.
