Prisons are hotbeds for jihad and recruitment. The takeover is complete. For years I have described the conditions under the continued islamization of the prison system and warned of the dire consequences. Pastor Paul Song describes how he was left in a state of near constant fear

Islamic militants hijacked a prison chaplain’s Bible classes and physically assaulted and abused him because of his Christian faith.

Pastor Paul Song today describes how he was left in a state of near- constant fear after Muslim gangs, acting with impunity, came to dominate Brixton Prison in South London. He tells The Mail on Sunday of one chilling incident when a small group stormed his gathering in the prison chapel and began loudly praising the jihadis who hacked soldier Lee Rigby to death in the street.

‘It was obscene,’ he said.

Mr Song describes how a hardline element grew increasingly powerful, threatening vulnerable inmates and telling them to convert to Islam for their own protection. The pastor says many of his fellow volunteer chaplains were driven out through intimidation, too.

‘My colleagues couldn’t take any more,’ he said.

‘My classes were often disrupted. At times inmates openly spoke in the chapel in support of Islamic State and suicide bombers. And there was nothing I could do about it… They spoke with such hatred of Britain that it was frightening.’

On another occasion, Mr Song, who was born in South Korea, says he was racially abused, jeered and hit on the back.

It left him afraid of lingering anywhere in the prison that wasn’t covered by CCTV.

Despite this menacing atmosphere, it was Mr Song who ended up being accused of extremism. An imam took over as Brixton’s head chaplain and stopped the pastor running his mainstream evangelical courses because, he said, some of the material was too ‘radical’.

Mr Song’s disturbing account of life inside Brixton Prison comes at a time of growing crisis in the prison service, which faces overcrowding and staff shortages.

In the past nine months, four jails have been described as ‘failing’. And on Friday thousands of prison officers walked out for six hours in protest at ‘unprecedented’ levels of violence. Justice Secretary David Gauke conceded: ‘The level of violence is unacceptably high, and we’re determined to bring it down.’

Mr Song’s time in Brixton came to an abrupt end in August last year when he was suddenly barred from the prison to which he had given 19 years unstinting service. It was claimed he called an inmate a ‘terrorist’ and behaved threateningly towards the imam, which he vehemently denied.

Now, 12 months on and after initially being denied a fair hearing, he has been cleared and reinstated.

Andrea Williams of the Christian Legal Centre, which took up Mr Song’s case, said calling him an extremist ‘defied belief’.

She added: ‘It is wonderful to see justice done.’

Mr Song began to feel the pressure soon after imam Mohammed Yusuf Ahmed was appointed as head chaplain in 2015.

He said ‘the imam’s discriminatory agenda became clear from the outset’, when he began scrutinising the material used in the Bible classes, claiming it was ‘too radical’ and that the Christian views expressed were ‘extreme’.

‘They are mainstream courses used by churches throughout the world. [The imam] said he wanted to ‘change the Christian domination’ within the prison,’ Mr Song said.

He agreed to stop running his classes, though he continued to work with individual prisoners.

‘The imam said I couldn’t use the chapel, so I held a prayer meeting in a cell but the imam got to hear about it and was furious. He is very big, physically intimidating and he kept urging me to just leave. I thought about it but I also thought, why should I give in?’

For part-time chaplain Paul Song, Brixton Prison’s oak-beamed 19th Century chapel was an oasis amid the hectic clamour of penal life.

But that was before Islamic extremists hijacked his Bible classes. One afternoon three inmates appeared in the chapel, interrupting a discussion on divine grace to loudly acclaim the killers of Lee Rigby, whose murder by jihadis on a South Londonstreet shocked the nation.

The Brixton prison imam who Paul Song believes was instrumental in forcing him out of the jail once launched a bizarre attack on Barbie dolls.

Mohammed Yusuf Ahmed said in 2011: ‘Barbie dolls belong to the top shelf. What is the point of a four-year-old girl having a doll that is dressed going to a nightclub? What is the point of a doll that has voluptuous assets? It’s a sign of the Day of Judgment.’

For eight years, he was a part-time chaplain at Woodhill high-security prison in Milton Keynes, while also general secretary of the Islamic Party of Britain. The party allegedly advocated the death penalty for public displays of homosexuality and wanted to transform Britain into an Islamic state.

In 2014, it was reported that Ahmed, who also uses the name Shaykh Yusuf Az-Zahaby belonged to the Islamist organisation Al-Hikma Media where some preachers have advocated killing women who engage in premarital sex.

 

 

To the disbelief of Mr Song and his fellow Christians, the interlopers insisted that hacking to death the 25-year-old soldier was justified since, in their eyes, it avenged the killing of Muslims by British troops.

When Mr Song calmly tried to argue back, he was shouted down. Nor was it the only time his classes were to be similarly disrupted.

‘To do this in a place of worship was obscene,’ he says. ‘Some openly spoke in the chapel in support of Islamic State.’

Today, Mr Song tells The Mail on Sunday in chilling detail how extremist Muslim gangs came to dominate his jail: intimidating prisoners into converting to Islam and physically assaulting him over his Christian faith.

And he describes how he was summarily dismissed from the jail over claims – which he strenuously denies – that he called one inmate a ‘terrorist’. He was also falsely accused of espousing ‘radical’ Christianity.

He believes the complaint was orchestrated by imam Mohammed Yusuf Ahmed, who was appointed as the prison head chaplain in 2015 and soon set about upending the multi-faith religious support offered to inmates.

Initially, Mr Song was denied a proper hearing but this newspaper can reveal that an external investigation eventually cleared him a year later and he has been reinstated.

He claims his dismissal after 19 years’ service followed a power shift in the South London prison, where a hardline Muslim contingent, feared by officers and inmates alike, were acting with impunity.

Mr Song believes the days were numbered for him and other Christian volunteers after Mr Ahmed was appointed. Mr Song taught mainstream evangelical courses which proved popular with inmates, but the new imam banned them, saying the material was too ‘extreme’.

Describing a climate of fear inside HMP Brixton, Mr Song, who moved to Britain from South Korea 26 years ago, also claimed:

• Inmates were forced – in some cases through violence – to convert to Islam for ‘protection’
• Muslim inmates jeered, pushed and abused him, calling him ‘Chinky’ and ‘Crazy Christian’
• He feared for his safety and always tried to ensure he was in view of a CCTV camera
• That the imam vowed to change what he called the ‘Christian domination’ inside prison
• He was forced to hold prayer meetings in a cell because the imam stopped him using the prison chapel

Mr Song said: ‘I was very upset by what these men said about Lee Rigby that day. They were making a commotion, saying the murder was justified. I tried to calmly reason with them but was shouted down.

‘My courses were often disrupted in this way. Two or three would often come to my classes and rant about different things like how the actions of suicide bombers were justified. There was nothing I could do.’

Yet in a grotesque irony, it was the chaplain, not the extremists, who ended up being punished.

Of all the elements of his astonishing story, it is perhaps the apparent willingness of the prison authorities to readily accept the allegations and dismiss Mr Song without first seeking his version of events, that is the most troubling.

He believes the most cursory examination of the ‘evidence’ would have found the claims baseless and says he was denied a face-to-face meeting to defend himself. Although common sense eventually prevailed, it is a wonder he now wants to reurn.

‘Some of the inmates spoke with such hatred about Britain, the Government, the military. It was frightening,’ Mr Song said.

That he became inured to the outbursts is a measure of just how ‘crazy the situation became inside Brixton’. He said: ‘Gradually, many of the Christian volunteer chaplains were intimidated into leaving until I was one of only a few remaining.’

Before emigrating to Britain, Mr Song, now 49, was a detective in the South Korean capital Seoul. He became a born-again Christian with a ‘burning desire’ to help those on society’s margins, such as the homeless, drug addicts, and prostitutes, and for many years he ran a shelter in a Brixton vicarage.

Pastor Paul, as he was known, became a popular, familiar and respected local figure. Outgoing and brimming with enthusiasm, he made friends easily. He is an evangelist but, as he pointed out, so too was Jesus. ‘It doesn’t make me an extremist,’ he laughed. The 43,000 people who signed a petition demanding his reinstatement after his dismissal would agree.

After the Church of England sold off the vicarage-turned-hostel he used to run, he decided to devote more time to voluntary work in Brixton Prison.

Relating to inmates, some of them highly dangerous, came naturally. ‘I think my time in the police helped,’ he said. His popularity spread and his courses were oversubscribed, attended by up to 80 prisoners.

They met in the large multi-faith chapel, built in the 1850s when embracing Christianity was deemed essential to rehabilitation. ‘I was happy that everyone used the chapel and I always got on with people from all religions,’ Mr Song recalled. ‘In the early days there was never any trouble.’

He turned many inmates’ lives around. ‘There was one, very dangerous, who sliced open a man from top to bottom and was fond of saying he was going to finish him off when he got out. I helped him find God. He became a new man.’

There were three full-time chaplains – one Catholic, one Muslim and one Anglican, the Reverend Phil Chadder, who led the chaplaincy. But in 2015, Mr Chadder moved on, creating a power vacuum that would later have significant repercussions for Mr Song.

He described the intimidating situation inside the prison at the time: ‘Prisoners told me of other inmates who were punched, roughed up, and threatened by Muslim gangsters who told them to convert to Islam for their own protection. They also said that if they refused they would make sure they didn’t receive the good quality food, the halal meat, for instance, that was served every Friday.

‘They also tried to convert me. They’d scream in my face, Arabic things such as ‘Allahu Akbar’ – Allah is greatest. They’d also criticise Christianity, comparing it unfavourably to Islam.

‘One day I was walking through a section of a wing housing many of the Muslim prisoners when one of them came at me from behind and hit me hard on the back. They were all laughing calling me a ‘Chinky’ and ‘Crazy Christian’. It was very frightening and, from then on, I was very conscious of walking only where I knew there was CCTV.’

Following imam Mohammed Yusuf Ahmed’s appointment, Mr Song’s role became more precarious still. Court documents state Mr Song was running the Alpha courses, popular in churches across the country, until 2013. He subsequently created his own course, approved by Mr Chadder. But then ‘the imam’s discriminatory agenda became clear from the outset,’ Mr Song said. ‘He began scrutinising the material for each of our courses, saying it was ‘too radical’ and that the Christian views expressed were ‘extreme’.

‘He paid scant regard to the fact that the courses are mainstream Christian, used by churches throughout the world. He said he wanted to ‘change the Christian domination’ within the prison.’

Reluctantly, Mr Song agreed to stop running his classes though he continued to work with individual prisoners. ‘The imam said I couldn’t use the chapel and effectively took control of it so I held a prayer meeting in a large holding cell but the imam got to hear about it and was furious. He is very big, physically intimidating and he kept urging me to just leave. I thought about it but I also thought, why should I give in?’

Following a visit to the jail in January 2017, prisons inspector Peter Clarke found high levels of violence and reported that ‘a third of prisoners felt unsafe’. It was also noted that the jail had been without a full-time Anglican chaplain for 18 months. Mr Clarke said one should be recruited ‘without delay’.

In August 2017 the imam sent an email to Mr Song warning him not to visit the prison without prior permission or ‘you will be walked to the gate’. Mr Song thought there had been a misunderstanding. After all, he had long been so trusted he had his own key.

Seeking answers, he went to see the imam. He was told he was no longer welcome and could not appeal the decision.

This problem in UK of muslim prisoners taking over prisons, intimidating staff and resorting to violent aggression against others is without doubt a consequence of the authorities abdicating their responsibility for running our prisons and seeing that justice in the name of the people is done there.

They’re now getting contractors in to do it instead by quoting the cheapest price, result what you read here and Tommy Robinson’s repeated truthful claims.

This wonderful – and stalwart! – Christian pastor is definitely doing God’s work on earth – especially in that shithole of a prison!! The fact that both the Crown and the Government allow these outrageous acts to continue and allow the lowest form of “humanity,” the mudslimes, such free rein is almost too much to bear! I really pity the people of Great Britain, although some seem OK with the pisslam conquest of Europe (and the UK). If I could come back to Planet Earth after 2050, I’m sure I wouldn’t recognize what the evil, globalist leaders allowed to happen!

True British men are still very much attached to our balls. It is our successive governments that have continually betrayed us and the latest hate speech laws are in place to try and stop us telling the truth about the cancer known as islam.
But still we gather in large numbers and fight against this pure evil despite the police now being our enemy.
Outside of prison these same muslims just blend in with the rest of them on our streets and it’s very difficult to know which are the radical muzrats to target. If we just attacked any muslim on our streets then straight away we are classed as the Nazi public enemy number one and are jailed for years.
I’m more than willing and happy to fight these bastards but I’m not willing to throw my life away and cause my family to be alone without my protection. Please try to understand our predicament and what we are up against. We fight on.

Dave, I’m likely jumping the gun but with much concern not with contempt. My main concern about the nation is the leadership or those in the wings of administration, May or weasel nuts, Corbyn. Not that the UK is the only nation suffering from inept leaders, as it is throughout the supposed Western democracies.

Hell, your nation kept the free world out of the grasp of the most tyrannical despots throughout the 20th Century; this while the US and others not of the Dominion dithered or collapsed. My main fear is, unlike latter enemies, the handing, the welcoming of the Muslim invasive onslaught by May and company, not to overlook the whittling of non-Muslim democratic rights. Again, America is not immune, far from it. It, too, as those of the May and Corbyn brigade.

My intent is not to slam or demean Britain, far from it. My roots are Brit; my much better half is an ex-pat; we both shake our heads with concern, not malice.

If any governing body deserves contempt, and castigation it is the EU. I only hope, perhaps pray, May get the proverbial lead out and grows some gonads.

You are in the thick of it; your perceptions are honed, sharper than mine. Please do not believe I am anti-Brit, as I am far from it. Nothing would put a smile on my gob than to see a leader come from out of the shadows to restore the nation to its former greatness. My better half returns from London next week; her short visit will be a mere glimpse of the facts. It is you, Poppey and other Brits who grasp the points and share them to this site and others. Please don’t perceive me as one whose bent on the end of Britain but I am worried about the collapse of Western civilization whose leaders are certifiable nutters and more. Take care. It never entered my head that you was being anti Brit and I understands perceptions from a great distance aren’t always accurate. But yes Britain is in a mess but not irredeemably so.
The British people have voted to leave the EU which is the main generator of muslim migration and it is them that talk of the quota of refugees that EU countries must accept.
Well if we keep on track and achieve the brexit that we voted for then we have total control of our borders including those that enter from the EU and with independence we are also opting out of the Human rights legislation which dictates who we can and can not deport from our own country if they’re deemed to be depriving the person to the right of a family life’ which for instance means if some silly slag has shelled him an offspring.
So much can and will change and Treassonous May will hopefully be sacked for incompetence as she is a remainer and has no desire to leave the nest egg that the EU would give her.
If all goes well and we succeed as an independent trading nation (yet again) then other EU nations will follow our lead and I can see the EU and the whole globalist agenda collapsing.
I see it vitally important for the future of the whole world that Britain success.
FK THE EU & PROSCRIBE ISLAM IN THE UK!????????

I know you never accused me of being anti-Brit, Dave. I read today that that the Tories are plotting to end perfidious May’s leadership. I hope it was right in the prediction. It’s the bloody EU, the rot of governance, a fascist, totalitarian union which is not surprising. I hope you are right, other EU nations must open their eyes regarding the EU and its globalist ambitions. Hang in, there is only one way left and that’s up.

May has devised a brexit strategy that has enraged the brexiteers within her party and has proved unpalatable by the EU leadership so she appears to be isolated between a rock and a hard place and I can’t see her situation improving anytime soon.
I think that the best brexit strategy is to just leave with no deal whatsoever. The only Tory I could trust or bring myself to vote for is Jacob Rees Mogg and he is still a back bencher and not in a position for leadership,
Which is not to say that the situation won’t change and he forces his way forward. He certainly has the patriots support.
As for May’ the only way is down.

Dave, i always learn something from your posts regarding the situation in Britain. I agree, Brexit with no strategy is the only way to expunge this parasitical union, the EU. It will attempt to suck the lifeblood of the nation and its people, excepting the non-Muslim. Mind you, they have been doing it, sucking the lifeblood, for decades. I, for one, could never discern the attraction to this autocracy, the EU. Sure, money, so-called jobs, smoke and mirrors but no say in immigration, sovereignty or a nation’s legal charter. Hitler and Petain would have loved this amalgamation or take-over of Europe.

France is still the underling in the mind of Fuhrer Merkel and she is right. Others in the fecked flock are fecked and either are imbecilic, naive or prefer being underfoot of the tyrannical beast, the EU. May is definitely slip, sliding away, the sooner the better. “Fecked”! Have you been watching that Father Ted Irish sitcom ziggy?
De Gaul was the big enthusiast for the EU. He was totally sold on it and he hated the brits probably resenting their help in saving his arse in ww2. I’m sure He knew somehow that Britain would eventually ruin the EU and did all he could to keep us out. This is as big and successful as the EU is ever going to get, it’s all downhill from Brexit onwards.
Didn’t the USA nearly get talked into some pan American union?

Hi, Dave, have watched Father Ted but I have an Irish friend who uses it all the time. De Gaul was a useless piece of shat. You hit the proverbial frog on the head. France should be turned into a parking lot, they’ve always been self-righteous wan*ks. Think of the lads buried throughout the countryside saving France’s, Europe’s arses. The EU is beyond saving, and surely we won’t, Brits and all pull their gonads out of the fire this time around. You’re right, thank God it was tossed into the recycling bin.

My better-half returned from London yesterday, unscathed, although concerned for Britain. Keep up the fight, Americans or most, don’t realize what is on the horizon because it can happen here. Honestly, there is no such thing as a ‘forced’ conversion. You just say ‘NO!’ I don’t care what the consequences are. In my case, I am a Christian and will never deny my faith in Jesus FOR ANY REASON. I know what they can do to me and I know He will sustain me and He never said belonging to Him would be easy. But it is still soooooo worth it!
