CNN Lies: Florida’s GOP Gubernatorial Nominee Says a Vote For His Black Opponent Would ‘Monkey This Up’

15

CNN, reeling off a completely debunked story that claimed Michael Cohen was willing to testify against President Donald Trump’s knowledge of the infamous Trump Tower meeting, is now facing yet another moral lapse with a skewed report on Florida’s governor race.

CNN blasted Rep. Ron DeSantis as racist after he used the phrase “monkey this up” while discussing the political leanings of his black Democratic opponent, Andrew Gillum.

Ron DeSantis and Andrew Gillum

But here’s the context of what he really said: DeSantis, on Fox News, first called Gillum an “articulate spokesman” for the far left, and then added, “The last thing we need to do is monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupting the state.”

Clearly, DeSantis was speaking of the socialist agenda of his opponent and using the phrase “monkey it up” to describe a situation that would be less than desirable.

CNN said this:

Fresh off his victory in the Florida Republican gubernatorial primary, Rep. Ron DeSantis said Wednesday that voters would “monkey this up” if they elected his African-American Democratic opponent, Andrew Gillum, to be governor, immediately drawing accusations of racism.

The remark provides a controversial beginning to what will be a closely watched general election campaign for the Florida governorship, which pits DeSantis, who has closely aligned himself with President Donald Trump, against Gillum, a progressive backed by independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

Gillum would become the state’s first black governor if he were to win in November.

“Well, I’ll try to be articulate, Chris,” Gillum told Chris Cuomo on CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time,” “and simply say that that kind of vitriol — and he’s apparently given up the whistle, they’ve gone to the bullhorn with these kinds of tactics — but they’re not going to work.”

Gillum earlier had told Fox News’ Shepard Smith, “It’s very clear that Mr. DeSantis is taking a page directly from the campaign manual of Donald Trump.”
“Was that racist or a figment of speech?” Smith asked, referring to DeSantis’ comment.

Gillum didn’t answer the specific question, instead responding, “I’m not going to get down in the gutter with DeSantis and Trump. There’s enough of that going on.”

But Democratic groups quickly accused DeSantis of using racist dog whistles, which DeSantis’ campaign denied.

“It’s disgusting that Ron DeSantis is launching his general election campaign with racist dog whistles,” Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Terrie Rizzo said in a statement.

“On the first day of the general election, Ron DeSantis showed Floridians who he really is,” Democratic Governors Association Deputy Communications Director David Turner said.

“Resorting to dog whistle politics within hours of winning the GOP nomination shows a desperate candidate who will stoop to new lows in order to court and give voice to fringe elements of society. Floridians want a leader who will bring them together; Ron DeSantis has shown that he would only divide Florida.”

A spokeswoman for Fox News reached out to CNN early Wednesday afternoon to distance the network from DeSantis’ remark, pointing to a statement made by anchor Sandra Smith on air in which she said, “We do not condone this language and wanted to make our viewers aware that he has since clarified his statement.”

Stephen Lawson, the communications director for the DeSantis campaign, said he was referring to Gillum’s policies in making the remark.

“Ron DeSantis was obviously talking about Florida not making the wrong decision to embrace the socialist policies that Andrew Gillum espouses. To characterize it as anything else is absurd,” Lawson said. “Florida’s economy has been on the move for the last eight years and the last thing we need is a far-left democrat trying to stop our success.”

The skewed reporting comes on the heels of CNN’s ongoing failure to admit a report about Cohen’s supposed agreement to testify against Trump was false, based on an anonymous source that turned out to be Lanny Davis.

And Davis has since said he was wrong.

From the Daily Caller:

Kellyanne Conway criticized CNN on Wednesday for the network’s refusal to apologize for a July report that claimed former Trump attorney Michael Cohen was willing to testify that President Trump knew about the infamous Trump Tower meeting before it happened.

The report was based on at least one anonymous source that turned out to be Cohen attorney Lanny Davis, who has since said he was mistaken.

“Well, I did get two questions in about this very topic that’s burning a whole week later,” Conway told Fox News host Sean Hannity, referring to an appearance she made on CNN with Chris Cuomo to discuss the issue. “Twice if not three times I confronted him with the fact that CNN – including on his show – had let this lie fly for over a month now and that this bombshell report they had talked about had been quickly unraveling and discredited and would they in fact admit that? In his attempt to get me to call the president of the United States the L-word, which I would not do and he was trying to do that again and again.”

“But I got in the question about this issue,” Conway continued. “The story has been discredited, that Lanny Davis has admitted he made a mistake and that he didn’t have the information. But remember, what Davis said his client would tell Mueller is central to the entire theme of collusion which the president says is phoney. And it’s so central to the claim of collusion that without that, the bombshell report is just a bomb.”

Conway then hammered the network for its refusal to simply retract the story and apologize.

“This goes to the problem we have, which is trust immediately, tweet incessantly verify never, so long as it’s negative, negative, negative. Why won’t CNN just say look, it was based on false reporting, we retract it and we apologize?” she asked before going over several lies the network has made in the past.

“People make mistakes, but those who are constantly assailing everyone else are loath to admit it,” said Conway, adding that the network also omits “important information” from their viewing audience, such as the good news coming from the economy under President Trump.

Perhaps an infelicitous figure of speech. But Democrats, with their customary integrity, are portraying a politically incorrect connotation that very likely was not its intent merely so they can sharpen a racial divide for partisan advantage.

Agreed. Recently, former Trump campaign advisor David Bossie was temporarily suspended from his Fox News role for saying people who thought a certain way we’re “out of their cotton picking minds”. It was not a racial slam against the black guest he was debating but was used as the age-old substitution for “mother f—–ing” mind.

I saw that Conway interview last night. I am still struggling to uncover the definition of the “L word”. Moreover, why was it acceptable to show cartoon caricatures of booshie junior (moslem loving bastid that he is) as a “Curious George monkey”, yet … unacceptable to do the same with obimbo, who very closely resembled one (monkey)?
Back to search engines in the quest of “L-Word”. So far, all that I can come up with is some television series about lesbians. Is President Trump a lesbian trapped in the body of a man?

Why are blacks always so offended by the word monkey?

They’re not. They call themselves that in jest. It’s about control and having double standards.
A white person has a higher standard to meet…

That this is even a story says something about our culture. I am talking about the Ron DeSantis
thing. On Ann Coulter’s twitter page she retweets a tweet by Mark Simone that showed three
different Democrat politicians (Obama, Schumer and Feinstein) using the word “monkey” in a
sentence.

You know how that works. Doubls standards! It depends who is saying what.

Truth doesn’t matter to CNN. Lanny Davis walked back his comments and CNN still stands by Lanny’s LIES.
CNN is desperate to flip this to DEM in the midterms. Why isn’t this stopped? CNN can’t be lawsuit proof.

Of course DeSantis didn’t mean the phrase “Monkey This Up’ as a racial slur. But the he should have choose his words more carefully knowing the left’ will grab on to any little morsel they can as they have no platform nor agenda in the American’s people’s best interest. I’d say those ‘white reporters/ who first compared the term ‘monkey’ to the black candidate are the real racists but that’s the left for you. Hypocritical socialists.

Those in the media who feel so outraged about President Trump’s depiction of them as fake news need to take stock of their own practices and see if maybe he isn’t really on to something.

Negroes do not prosper any area. Any “darkie” leaning left like this Negro will NOT prosper your State or county. I know we had a “darkie” and he ended up doubling the cost of everything. All a darkie does is tax, tax, tax, then spend, spend, spend on all kinds of USELESS projects.

And they also import all of their kind into your State. The cost ends up being PERMANENT. So they bring perpetual ruin that can only be solved by a WAR.

The disgrace is that the left can only win through lies, distortion, manipulation and corruption. Never by confronting the truth or unveiling their true intentions.
