New York Sun: No Manafort or Cohen Crime is as Foul as the Campaign Underway to Foil the Decision of the American People

Tuesday’s one-two punch, news of the Manafort verdict and the Michael Cohen plea deal, breathed new life into the left’s campaign to oust President Trump. And they’re all on a mission to use this to inflict maximum damage on the President and his agenda.

• Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schemer (D-NY) has called for the senate confirmation hearing for nominee Brett Kavanaugh to be delayed due to this “game changer.”

• Billionaire Tom Steyer is planning a major ad blitz by his group “Steyer’s Need to Impeach Campaign,” in the wake of the Manafort verdict and the Cohen plea deal.

• NBC’s Chuck Todd said that a “functional Washington” would be looking for ways to draw up articles of impeachment papers on Trump.

• Cohen’s attorney, Weasel Lanny Davis, has appeared on every news network saying Trump “corrupted our democracy,” and he “directed” Michael Cohen to execute a “criminal act.”

Earth to Trump-Haters and Never-Trumpers:  Cohen’s deal had nothing to do with Russian collusion.

The following excerpt from an editorial appearing in the New York Sun sums up the whole story.

What needs to be kept in mind at every stage is that this whole investigation is not about Russian meddling. Everyone agrees that they [the Russians] did it and it was wrong. No one needs a special prosecutor to get to the bottom of that. This is part of an effort by the Democrats and their collaborators to overturn a presidential election that they thought they would win. No crime of which either [Paul Manafort or Michael Cohen] was pronounced guilty today is as foul as the campaign underway to foil the decision of the American people.

And that is exactly what this entire Russian collusion investigation is – a campaign to foil the decision of the American people.

So deep is the hatred that has infected so much of our government, the mainstream media and the huge number of Americans who receive their news from the mainstream media, it may be impossible to eliminate. Call it the deep state, the resistance, whatever you would like, but it’s become like a systemic cancer that is slowly killing the patient, America.

The members of the resistance all view their fight in Machiavellian terms. So convinced are they of their own righteousness, there is almost nothing they would not do to achieve their goals. For conservatives, it’s akin to fighting an insurgency.

Hopefully, all this insanity will help boost Republican turnout in November. Even Americans who are lukewarm on Trump do not want to see the country go through the turmoil that the impeachment process would produce.

The left is now concentrating its efforts on the midterm elections and this should frighten all of us.

Investigative reporter and research director for the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) Eric Eggers has just published a book entitled Fraud: How the Left Plans to Steal the Next Election. Below are five of the book’s most alarming takeaways.

 1. Nearly 3 million people are registered to vote in two different states.

Voter registration records have been neglected by many states for years, making them rife with flaws. In its opinion upholding Ohio’s efforts to clean up its voter rolls, the Supreme Court cited two Pew Center statistics from 2012 most Americans would find shocking:

•  24 million voter registrations in the U.S. are either “invalid or significantly inaccurate.”
•  75 million people are said to be registered in more than one State.

During the 2016 election cycle, 248 counties in 24 states had more registered voters than residents of legal voting age, according to research by the Public Interest Legal Foundation.

And those are just the registrations. What about the actual votes? GAI’s analysis of the 2016 election found records for 45,880 voters over the age of 115. And 15,000 votes were cast by voters whose records claimed their home address was a post office box, a UPS store, a post office, or some other public building.

2. Voter fraud has been documented in numbers big enough to swing presidential elections.

 After the 2016 election, GAI performed an unprecedented comprehensive, national study of the actual votes cast in 2016. We were able to get publicly available voter rolls from 21 states, and we hired a data expert and used proprietary commercial databases – the same ones used to combat EBT fraud and other types of identity theft. Using the most conservative set of assumptions and examining only one type of voter fraud – voting in more than one state in the same election – we uncovered more than 8,400 cases of confirmed double-voting in the 2016 election. Of those, 2,100 people voted in Florida and also cast a ballot in another state. When I shared GAI’s findings with an official with the Florida Attorney General’s office, he deadpanned: “That’s a lot of lightning strikes.” To put this in perspective, remember that just 537 votes in Florida decided the presidential election in 2000.

3. George Soros spends tens of millions of dollars to keep our elections vulnerable and to fund groups that exploit those vulnerabilities.

George Soros has a long history of funding groups that have been caught committing voter fraud. Soros poured millions into a group that was both accused of voter fraud and paid a massive fine for violating election laws in the 2004 election. He’s also been a consistent donor to groups like ACORN and La Raza, both of which changed their names because of chronic association with voter fraud. Today, those and other Soros-funded nonprofits file lawsuits to block any attempts to improve election security. In 2016, Soros funded a multi-state fight against Voter ID laws across the country. He enlisted former Clinton campaign attorney Marc Elias, who filed suit on behalf of several groups, including liberal activists Ohio Organizing Collaborative (OOC).

OOC was later accused of falsely registering dead people to vote, with one group member being sentenced to prison.

Soros also gives millions to the so-called nonpartisan Brennan Center, which defines voter fraud in the narrowest possible terms. The truth is, any action that devalues the weight of an honest vote is vote fraud. It nullifies honest voters. It steals their vote. And there are plenty of examples of it all over the country.

4. The vulnerabilities of our voter rolls and elections not only victimize honest American voters, but the vulnerable populations the Left claims it wants to help.

The victims of our electoral vulnerabilities include every honest voter in the country. But they also include the groups and demographics the Left claims to support, but really just victimizes and exploits. In my new book, I show how senior citizens are routinely targeted for their absentee ballots in a practice known as “granny farming.”  One woman in South Florida was caught with notebooks detailing the hundreds of payments she received for collecting ballots from senior voters who were impaired. She got only two misdemeanor charges and was sentenced to probation, partly because one of her victims had died before charges could be filed.

The ease with which felons remain on voter rolls and cast illegal ballots only harms their later efforts to see their full voting rights restored. Sometimes, ex-felons even work for the elections department and still don’t know they shouldn’t be voting.

Non-citizens have the most to lose from our lax oversight of elections. Registering to vote in many states is as easy as getting your driver’s license, but DMV officials in some states are prohibited by law from providing non-citizens proper guidance so they don’t accidentally register to vote. Illegally registering to vote forever imperils a non-citizen’s ability to become a naturalized citizen. If they actually vote, non-citizens could face deportation, even if they are legal residents. Cases of non-citizens voting just because they thought they could, without having malicious intent, are common.

A newspaper editor in Las Vegas, after interviewing two illegal aliens who were forced to vote by unions connected to former Sen. Harry Reid, concluded “voter registration is not a groundless conspiracy or hypothetical threat to our Democracy. In Nevada, a battleground state that could decide the presidency and control of the U.S. Senate, it is real.”

5. Fights for non-citizen voting rights will be more common.

 President Trump recently said “only American citizens should vote in American elections.” But a majority of Democrats, for the first time, disagree. While most Americans agree with President Trump overall, 54 percent of Democrats and 53 percent of self-described liberals support granting illegal immigrants the right to vote. And the push from the Left won’t slow down. DNC President Tom Perez’s former employer, Casa De Maryland, has pushed for non-citizen voting rights for years. Perez’s hometown of Takoma Park, Maryland, allowed non-citizen voting beginning in 1992.

Federal law prohibits non-citizens from voting in federal elections, but 11 states currently allow non-citizen voting of some kind. Cities like Chicago and San Francisco allow non-citizen voting in some local elections.

Sadly, this will threaten the citizenship chances of more legal immigrants who may be confused by the inconsistency surrounding their voting rights. Thus, they will be victimized by the same political organizations that wanted their votes in the first place.

These are the realities of voting in America in 2018. Soros-funded groups and mainstream media outlets will continue to tell you that voter fraud doesn’t exist, but that requires you to believe two things:

Voter registrations are accurate and secure from fraudulent registrations.

No one is trying to manipulate outcomes for political purposes.

Sadly, voter registration vulnerabilities do exist and do encourage fraud, and the groups denying it for their own purposes are very real and very serious. The reason I wrote Fraud: How the Left Plans to Steal the Next Election was to expose the real “myths” in the voter fraud debate.

A seventy-nine year-old “life-long conservative” just called Rush Limbaugh to say no one is a bigger supporter of “Trump’s policies” than he.
“But that’s as far as it goes!”
According to this pathetic retired blowhard, Trump gets up every day and finds new ways to make people hate him. “By tweeting back and forth with Brennan.”
“Who cares what those people say!!!” he naively states, revealing himself as never having been in any fight for any reason, and thereby being incapable of understanding that if Trump doesn’t fight back on every front at every attack, then those attacks stand as the truth in the public consciousness — and America loses.
He says Trump must not “have anything better to do.”!!!
This about the guy who carried this country on his back from the edge of the abyss, who works day and night to drain the swamp of corruption and globalism that has consumed our country, who literally IS our Gen. George Washington, at the ramparts and defending freedom and opportunity when everyone is quitting, against him and counted us out.
We are living in the Second American Revolution. And the counter-revolutionaries are led by Mueller, Clinton, obama, Jeb! — and this worthless fifth-column foot soldier on his Lazy Boy calling in to bitch about our greatest hero.
Let’s hope that come November 6 we don’t get the government these kind of slobs deserve.

I really feel bad for Trump. He doesn’t need this shiiiiit. He had a great life. He is doing it for US and our future. None of those aholes that he ran against would have done what he has done in 1 1/2 years! All they know is to LIE to us, get our votes, then carry out promises made to donors and special interest groups in whatever sneaky way they can. It’s a club at OUR expense. There are some good people but we need more.

Manafort’s case had nothing to do with Trump or his campaign and Cohen’s fact statement regarding his guilty plea to a campaign violation actually shows that he didn’t break any law and neither did Trump. It’s a plea deal and has not effect on the law and has no precedent. It’s a setup by the anti Trump prosecutor and Lanny Davis to make Trump look bad. But the media and Dems don’t care about the law or the facts. If they gain control of Congress in this election, they and the NeverTrump Republicans and even some of the establishment types will vote to impeach and remove Trump from office. It’s a political trial and they could impeach over a Jaywalking offense.

I am all in for Trump. What is going on is absurd. People have to get out and VOTE in the midterms.
Even if it is a RINO, vote em in. We can deal with them later. Terrible thing to say but is the only thing to do.

The DEMS will roll everything back and make up for lost time on our borders, illegals, migrants, refugees, raise taxes, more censorship, Muslim worship etc.. Trump was not supposed to happen. It was supposed to be Hillary with Obama running the country behind the scenes. These fake investigations and fake crimes are all to get Trump out.

I am worried about his personal safety…Look what a Bernie supporter did to the GOP baseball practice for charity. He wanted to execute them all. Look at the “art” the left exhibits with Trump being beheaded or dead in some form. This is ALL being done to get a nut job to do it.

The political climate in the US is so rancid that another type of civil war is at hand. And imposing government will over the public’s decision at the ballot box could be a distinct possibility, if not for that pesky Second Amendment.

I think there is going to be a terrific blow back to the liberals in these staged Manafort and Cohn indictments. It will only serve to make the red wave bigger. Just like Trump winning the Presidency against all odds. Seeking to harm him will come back on the plotters, and make what they tried to do to Trump, happen to them only several times over!
