Israeli volunteers in Norway reportedly detained, questioned in airport ordeal
Two Israelis were sent back to Israel after a humiliating ordeal.
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF August 7, 2018 16:04Israelis Dor Tibi, 23, and Anan Hamoud, 21, were looking forward to traveling through Norway and volunteering on Norwegian farms. The friends, who had met in the Air Force, traveled from Tel Aviv to Istanbul and then to Oslo Airport, Gardermoen.But at passport control problems began, the Norwegian newspaper Dagen reported on Tuesday. After the usual questions, they were moved to a separate room for additional questioning. To their surprise, the officials told them that working with WWOOF, the Norwegian volunteer organization with branches all over the world, is illegal in Norway without a work visa. The friends found this difficult to understand since WWOOF was completely based on volunteerism and no official work was involved.
Story continues below advertisementThe two Israelis were left in the room and the officials claimed they were working on the case. Later, they were photographed and fingerprinted, and told they were being sent to a refugee camp. The friends asked if they could just check into a hotel instead since they had enough money to stay in Norway for a month. When that request was denied, they offered to arrange new flights to Israel.
This request was denied as well and the friends requested a lawyer. Their troubles were far from over after a lawyer arrived, but was unable to communicate with them due to his poor English.
Tibi and Hamoud were then transported to the Trandum refugee camp in a prison car. At the refugee camp they were told that, as Israelis, the camp may be dangerous for them. Many of the refugees were completely lacking documentation and it was possible that some could be associated with ISIS. But they reassured the two that they would house them in a safe area. After taking all their personal possessions, the two were subjected to a humiliating strip-search. Dor and Anan were detained in Trandum for two days.
They flew home to Tel Aviv on April 15, with a stopover in Istanbul.
“The police followed us on board the plane through a separate entrance and showed our passes to the captain. The same thing happened in Turkey. We felt like criminals. It was like a scene in a movie,” Anan told Dagen.
The two are now safely at home in Israel.Following confirmation requests from The Jerusalem Post to the Norwegian Embassy in Israel, an official said the queries were “forwarded to Norwegian Police for them to provide the required answers.”

Hmmm … wonder what the ethnicity/religion of the offending Norwegians were? Clearly this is a case based on political or ethnic antipathy. Reminds me of how Martin Sellner and Britanny Pettibone were treated in Britain.

As a nonJew, I wouldn’t travel to Norway to do volunteer work on a farm.

The Scandinavians, who once long ago I considered a good and nice people, are literally on their way to hell where they deserve to be. Once the European hold-outs against Christianity, they long ago returned to those pagan roots. Devoid of morals, evident they don’t even care about the well-being of their own women and children and are not outraged by their assault and rape by Muslim immigrants – who no sane individual would welcome into a country, but Scandinavians do – with Canadians not far behind.

“Organic” farming typically requires a great deal of manual labor … It ain’t the standard rotation crops of the Iowa farmer (corn, beans, and Florida). Moreover, Israel is known for a high degree of agricultural technology, organic and otherwise. They’re young and have a vision of being do gooders and saving the world, more than likely.
Would you have expected Norway authorities to arrest someone, solely due to them being Jewish and send them off to a moslem dominated prison camp?
In my wildest of dreams, I could not have imagined this happening.

What makes you think that Sven, Oley, and Lena, LLC, Attorneys-at-Law have any English speakers? Very few lawyers, in Norway, are fluent in English. Just as very few lawyers, in the United States of America, are fluent in noorveejuhn.

They teach English in school from Grade ONE and have done for many decades.

The LAW is a completely separate issue . . . . perhaps you may be correct.
Communicating is a court is far different from buying a pizza. I am sure there are many Norwegian Lawyers that are fluent in English, but unable to conduct a Norwegian Court case in English.
I know that the Marine Industry in Norway which is rather large have Captains and Crews that communicate in English without any problems.

Even a banger, from bangerdouche, that is a pilot that flies internationally, speaks English. Cannot compare marine law/seafaring with other entities and professions.
Court cases, in Norway, would not be conducted in English. Rather, nuveejuhn lawyers do not speak English competently enough to understand their clients, in order to represent them. Look at their own legal industry statistics.

English is the second most common language in all Scadinavian countries . . . it is taught in schools from grade 1 . . . . although today perhaps the middle eastern Savages may be threatening english for second place.

I could never have imagined such behavior from this country. I am shocked, and have crossed it off my list of countries I wish to visit.
There should be an official investigation into this incident, and the results given to the United Nations, and open to the world public. What does the UN think about this unwarranted behavior? Should not they be concerned about this disrespectful, anti-Semitic behavior.

You cannot expect the stupid or brainwashed or both to respond rationally. As the violence of Islam, and others such as Mexican drug cartels, grows … these drones will likely cower in fear. Those who do rise up will join the Left to demand the violence be stopped … by disarming and punishing ‘Whitey,’ tearing up the Rule of Law, and desecrating our monuments.
And they will use violence – even violence of Leftists against the Left’s victims – to justify silencing the victims and punishing the victims.
So … if you want to fight back … we must find someone with the will and the resources to organize a political opposition. We can expect far, far more aid to come to us than we think we have, but we must not expect the drones and the happy little dhimmis volunteering to save the world from efficient farming to ever ‘rise up and fight back.’ It’s just not in them.

Keeps going it will be a war!!! I have not thought it trough as I don’t have enough research and I don’t know all the layers. As a student of WWII and the politics and policy’s leading up to that conflict. I tend to draw clear cut lines however that is impossible for me at the moment with the current world events. It will not be pretty when it does happen. Of curse everyone will be wringing their hands about the “children”. Look what happened this week in NM. They are out there and some are ready. They will kill you and not blink an eye. They did in China post WWII and Cambodia under Pol Pot.
