Rush Limbaugh: ‘If Cohen Has Any Kind Of Goods On Trump, Mueller Doesn’t Give Case Away To Southern District Of NY’

17

Michael Cohen and his new attorney, Clinton ally Lanny Davis, rolled out what they hoped would be twin bombshell revelations meant to inflict serious damage on President Trump. The mainstream media greeted the news with great enthusiasm.

CNN analyst Max Boot, who recently and very loudly, left the Republican party, said:

Until now, we have not had a smoking gun that placed Donald Trump Sr., the President himself, in the center of the conspiracy. This is potentially huge. It’s potentially something that can prove the President colluded and that is an impeachable offense.

Story continues below advertisement

Boot and the rest of the mainstream media want so badly for that to be true.

Too bad for them, Cohen and Davis that Trump supporters simply do not care about either issue.

The first item was Cohen’s recording of a conversation between he and then-candidate Donald Trump, which took place in September 2016. The two were discussing a payment to playboy model Karen McDougall who allegedly had an affair with Trump in 2006. I wrote about this here.

The second item was Cohen’s announcement that Trump had prior knowledge of the June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr., then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner and the Russians, who had promised to provide dirt on Hillary Clinton. Cohen provided no evidence to support this claim.

Trump has denied prior knowledge of the meeting, which may or may not be true. Probably not. Still, unless Trump lied under oath, he has not committed a crime.

Most importantly, what political campaign would say no to the possibility of hearing new “dirt” about their opponent? In fact, it would be unnatural not to at least listen.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC actually solicited dirt on Trump and paid $12 million to a foreign national. And working through intermediaries (law firm Perkins Coie hired op research firm Fusion GPS to prepare the dossier) doesn’t alter that fact.

Also, it’s well known that Barack Obama and David Axelrod used the Chicago Tribune to dig into the divorce records of two of his primary opponents in the 2004 Illinois senate race.

So, it seems that neither of Cohen’s “bombshells” had any effect on Trump voters. Once it became clear there was no real substance to either claim, the air left the balloon rather quickly. The only damage was to Cohen’s credibility, which is now in freefall.

Rush Limbaugh makes the point that, if Robert Mueller believed Cohen could provide information or evidence of Trump’s criminal activity, he never would have handed the case over to the Southern District of New York.

The National Review’s Andrew McCarthy appeared on Laura Ingraham’s show and was asked about Cohen’s recent claims. He said:

I’ve always thought that if Mueller believed that Cohen was somehow the key to proving a collusion case against Trump, there’s no way he lets that case walk to the Southern District of New York. So I’d be surprised if this links up to anything that’s serious in the way of collusion like an espionage conspiracy. It seems to me that the Mueller investigation is winding down to a conclusion.

When asked why Mueller is now said to be examining Trump’s tweets, McCarthy replied:

The whole thing is preposterous. To have state of mind or a criminal state of mind is irrelevant unless you’ve done something that actually can amount to obstruction. The president cannot obstruct justice by taking lawful actions that are within his constitutional prerogative, like pardoning people or firing Comey or weighing in on whether somebody should be prosecuted. I understand the style problem, like they don’t like the way Trump goes about things. But you still gotta kind of like prove the thing that’s a crime before you start worrying about what somebody’s state of mind was.

Why is Cohen making public accusations against Trump? Rush explains:

So what Cohen is doing here is trying to get the best deal he can get from the U.S. attorney’s office, Southern District of New York. He’s trying to make it look like he’s got all kinds of dope on Trump and he’d be willing to give it up.

He certainly led with a couple of duds.

This is so juicy!
This comment is on MANAFORT and that ridiculous situation.
Mueller has NOTHING again! GATES is their KEY WITNESS to get Manafort.
Gates was caught in embezzlement so he flipped to get a reduced sentence. Problem is he has NOTHING!!
NOW Gates won’t be testifying? There is NO CASE then. Judge Ellis is NOT amused at these obvious games!
Present the evidence or dismiss the case!
This Mueller crap is such a FARCE! Judge Ellis is not playing along with it.

BTW Manafort was pursued by the Obama administration nearly 8 years ago and they did NOT have the evidence to charge him. So he was never charged. They are pursing the SAME issues and I doubt that there is evidence now. He is only being pursued because of his association with Trump and helping Trump make sure the electorial college rules were not adversely changed. Manafort also worked for Reagan and Dole and a political strategist.

Trial Games: Prosecutor Asonye Tells Judge Ellis Key Witness
May Not Testify in Manafort Case…
Posted on August 1, 2018
by sundance

Corrupt Robert Mueller’s ‘Clinton alliance team‘ of corrupt federal prosecutors begin playing corrupt trial and jury games they are famous for.

“In a shocking admission Wednesday morning, federal prosecutors said Rick Gates may NOT testify in the trial of his former business partner Paul Manafort.

Mr. Gates, who oversaw some of the financial dealings of Mr. Manafort’s consulting business, was expected to be a KEY witness for the government.

But prosecutor Uso Asonye said jurors may NOT hear from Mr. Gates after all.

“He may testify, he may not,” Mr. Asonye told Judge T.S. Ellis III.

The revelation sent journalists and others out of the courtroom to report the disclosure.

“That’s news to me and about 25 others who scurried out of here like rats on a sinking ship,”
Judge Ellis shot back.

Mr. Asonye attempted to backtrack, telling Judge Ellis that the evidence presented will determine IF Mr. Gates‘ testifies.

That drew a sharp rebuke from Judge Ellis.

“You know who you are going to call,” He said. “If you are going to call him then this is a waste of time.”

Its Dem mafia led by Mueller supported by top 2 crooks at DOJ.

Dem/Clinton mafia still active after Trump takeover as they kill another witness to email investigation http://tinyurl.com/y8p9cv5l

They know their hold overs in FBI / DOJ /NSC will help them out !

Unless they are totally purged including Left/Liberal judges to keep out their bias …its uphill task to prosecute them.

This witch hunt is unbelievable. Where was Mueller, DOJ, special counsels, congress, etc during the many Clinton (B + H) and Obama-Holder-L Lynch-IRS Lois Lerner-EPA Lisa Jackson and on and on. Not a scintilla of impropriety or crimes ever pursued against this mafia….yes, I said mafia. The truth is that if DOJ wants to pursue (watchword is “pursue”), they can convict probably 99.9% of our population. They WILL find something I guarantee. And ignorance of the law is no excuse….unless of course you are Hilary Clinton…There are 2 sets of laws: one for us and the other for the swamp creatures.

Where was Obama who was President when all this Russia interference?
This all happened under OBAMA and it all LEADS BACK TO OBAMA.
In a memo, OBAMA was to be appraised of the “insurance policy”.

Oh but there is collusion and conspiracy – Uranium One, Bill gave OVER PAID speeches in Russia and Russia making DONATIONS to the Clinton slush fund Foundation!
What about the FAKE Russian dossier – “golden shower” that is a LIE to start this phony investigation and okayed by OBAMA APPOINTED FISA COURT JUDGES! It didn’t matter that Hillary PAID for the fake dossier. The FISA court judge that approved this nonsense was an OBAMA APPOINTED JUDGE!

Where does Lanny Davis come up with the notion that collusion is an impeachable offense when it is not even a crime in the first place? The most famous case of collusion was the one involving the owners of major league baseball way back in the day when they colluded on fixing players salries. And that only led to the formation of a players union and not a single prosecution.

Since that US Attorney resigned from the Southern Destrict in disgrace, it is much less effective than before.

“If Mueller had something”? If a frog had wings it wouldn’t bang its ass so hard every time it jumped either, would it?

You are right!
Collusion is NOT a crime.
To make it a CRIME then have to prove there was a conspiracy!
Since there was NO COLLUSION to begin with, there is NO CONSPIRACY!
This is beyond ridiculous and his DEM team is laughing all the way to the bank as we FUND this through tax dollar money. The last bill was for 20 MILLION!

At the very least Cohen should be disbarred at the most imprisoned for violating confidentiality of lawyer and client. What a scumbag.

Mister President:

Usually when a leader makes a ‘request/suggestion’ it’s considered an ‘order’ to subordinates. Apparently not so much in this case.

True leadership demands you ‘order’ straight out that Attorney General Sessions “End Mueller’s ‘Witch Hunt’ NOW!”

If Mr. Sessions does not comply, you, as a leader, are compelled to fire him for ‘dereliction and/or refusal’ of a lawful order and carry out the order yourself.

So far you’ve shown real leadership, please extend this trait to encompass this and “End Mueller’s ‘Witch Hunt'” yourself.

What is absolutely astounding is that Max Boot was actually considered a conservative? He was never ever ever ever ever a conservative. Too many phony conservatives have been destroying the conservative party. And I believe that has been on purpose.

What a vile lot of devoid of honour, devoid of trustworthiness, backstabbing and cowardly individuals we have in the world today! This former Trump lawyers, Cohen, is a shameless piece of dirt and has shown his true colours when linking up with a piece of filth liar like Lanny Davis. These bastards wouldn’t help their 92 year-old grandmother over a busy street. What a pity someone doesn’t run over them and then reverse to make sure.
