An imam in Denmark has been charged with incitement for calling in a sermon for the killing of Jews, marking the first time that charges have been issued under a new hate speech law on religious preaching.
Story continues below advertisementIn March, Mundhir Abdallah of the Masjid Al-Faruq mosque in Copenhagen cited a call in the Koran to “fight the Jews and kill them.” In May, the local Jewish community filed a complaint with police about the speech.
Abdallah was charged Tuesday in Copenhagen District Court, the AFP news service reported. The hate speech law was passed last year.
“These are serious statements and I think it’s right for the court to now have an opportunity to assess the case,” public prosecutor Eva Ronne said in a statement, according to AFP.
The man who killed a Jewish volunteer security guard in a shooting attack during a bat mitzvah celebration at a synagogue in Copenhagen in February 2015, Omar El-Hussein, reportedly attended the mosque where Abdallah preached the day before the shooting.

The passage that the Danes are now so unpleasantly surprised about is from the Koran. Maybe they should read it.
The problem is not with imams reciting it, this is what Islam is about—the problem is with any Western state tolerating even a sliver of Islam on their soil.

There are some very encouraging new developments happening in Denmark under the new government of Rasmussen because along with this proposed check on routine Islamic incitement to violence is the news that if the muzz cannot speak Danish after being there for 3 years, they’ll have to pay for there own interpreter in official dealings. I also read of new restrictions on claiming welfare payments under certain circumstances if one is convicted of a crime.
What founded this new concern among Danish voters is the realisation that the muzz population has reached 500,000 from 80.000 a few years ago, too many in a population of 5,7 million.
True Danes are now reading what’s written on their walls, they’re not sure they like it either.
