Liberals rise in the polls as Canadians rally behind Trudeau in spat with Trump

120

Andrew Scheer and the Conservative Party of Canada must understand what’s at stake in the next Canadian federal election. If the Conservatives lose the next federal election, they may never win another federal election. Ever. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (along with Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussein) will seek to replicate Europe’s disastrous immigration policies. Trudeau wants to alter the Canadian electorate in his party’s favour, making it next to impossible for a Conservative to win a federal election. As we saw in Toronto earlier this week, an open border and sanctuary policy (especially from Middle Eastern countries) is reckless, dangerous, and costly as well.

Andrew Scheer and the Conservative Party have been a major disappointment in exposing Justin Trudeau’s reckless policies and embarrassing incompetence. At least so far. Since Justin Trudeau was elected Prime Minister of Canada, he has paid a convicted terrorist (Omar Khadr) 10.5 million dollars, and he has fought with Canadian war veterans by refusing to provide them with the financial aid that they require and deserve. He has raised taxes on Canadian families. He has added billions of dollars to Canada’s debt, claiming that the budget will “balance itself.” He made Canada a laughing stock during his trip to India because of his ridiculous behavior and buffoonery. He was the first Canadian Prime Minister to be found guilty of violating ethics laws. He is also trying to exploit (with the help of the biased Canadian media) the so called “Trade War” against Donald Trump, knowing full well that Canada will lose badly in a trade fight against the U.S. Despite all of this, Justin Trudeau continues to lead Scheer in the polls.

What is Scheer waiting for? Why isn’t Scheer attacking Trudeau much more aggressively on social media? Why isn’t Scheer going on the offense to the extent that he should? Perhaps Scheer should analyse the 2012 presidential election in the United States. Like Scheer, Mitt Romney was meek, boring, and uninspiring. In the third Presidential debate, Romney got crushed by Obama because he was passive and unassertive. Romney lost the election after the third debate. Voters are not inspired by timid candidates. Voters are inspired by fighters such as Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. Andrew Scheer would be wise to change his strategy quickly.

“Liberals rise in polls as Canadians rally behind Trudeau in spat with Trump: Ipsos poll,” by

As the weather gets warmer, Canadians are also warming back up to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberals — with their approval rating jumping by five points this month.

According to an exclusive Ipsos poll for Global News, 55 per cent of Canadian respondents approve of Justin Trudeau’s government, up from 50 per cent in June.

It’s also a marked rise since its lowest point; only 44 per cent of respondents approved of him at the end of March.

If a vote were held today, the Liberals would receive 39 per cent of the popular vote, the poll found — up six points since last month — with the Tories coming in second with 32 per cent of the vote, a drop of five points since last month….

I have always held the hope that Trump would embarrass Trudeau in some meaningful way so that the idiots who voted him in would see the problem they have created. Perhaps that is yet to come in the NAFTA talks.

If Trump follows 1/2 of his campaign promises, there will be NO NAFTA. Time to build the Northern Wall. Any motor vehicle, with over ten percent of assembly, or parts, from Canada …. 700% tariff, or higher.

He has been plugging away with LOTS OF SUCCESS but the mainstream media is SILENT on them. Immigiration and the wall are two major ones that he is chipping away at but the UNIPARTY is fighting him. Keep the faith. He is our last shot at restoring our country.

I disagree with your 700% tariff. I suggest that the tariffs be of equal value. IE: Trudoo charges 50% tariff on an item being imported – – a 50% tariff on an equivalent item of import into America should be levied.

I think 700% seems fair. Free trade means no tariffs or government subsidies on any product. Tit for tat wins nothing. Either open and free … or shut it down!

Andrew Scheer’s big problem is having Donald Trump as something he cannot shake. Justin Trudeau is carrying the nationalist badge in someone who will stand up and defy Donald Trump, especially on trade issues. Scheer is seen as someone who will roll over for Trump at the expense of Canadian agriculture, especially in Atlantic Canada and Quebec. Basically, conservatives in Canada will need to identify someone who is strong on border security but will also stand up to Trump. Standing up to Trump also flipped Mexico’s election.

In short, in Canada, outside of the prairies, Trump is radioactive. A Trump-supporting candidate will easily lose the 401/20 (Quebec-City-Windsor – 401/20 refers to the highway) corridor (and likely Greater Vancouver), and thus the election. While that corridor is only 90,000 square miles, in it is Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal, and 50 percent of Canada’s population. The other major population centers in Canada are: Edmonton-Calgary corridor (10 percent), Greater Vancouver (7 percent) and Winnipeg (about 2 percent).

@Shuali:disqus – Trump can negotiate any deal, but it’s likely dead on arrival in the Senate.

Canada will pay dearly if it votes for little Trudy again!

A Trudy win means a beautiful US / Canada border wall will be quickly built (it is coming anyway but a Trudy win will expedite it), NAFTA will be nullified and Canada will not enjoy such a lucrative trade environment (as it currently does) with the US ever again!

With Trudy in charge Canadians should brace themselves for a prolonged recession, rising housing costs, ballooning government expenditures (welfare / housing / expanding public sector), massive tax hikes, rising social unrest, white flight…

If Trudy indeed wins, sane, forward looking Canadians, should seriously consider emigrating into the US!

Trump’s America will happily welcome any good Canadian with merit!

The polar route to East Asia is made shorter by crossing New Sweden’s airspace. However, it is readily accessible without it. Europe? What? Even you aren’t THAT stupid. I stand corrected, yes you are. Alaska is also an easy flight over the Pacific. Poor little aemoreira1981 … poor little dear.

She’s, undeniably, as dumb as a box of rocks. The arctic route, to Narita, cuts a few hours off. However, I have flown the non arctic route … NO entrance into New Sweden airspace, upon numerous occasions. You, being in CA, probably would not take the arctic route.

Even more idiotic, why would anyone in the USA have to fly over Canada to get to Asia? Even a long obsolete Boeing 707-320b could take off from LAX and fly directly to Tokyo, JP without any refueling whatsoever.

Achmed Mohandjob

Most Midwest flights and many, from the Eastern portion, take the arctic route. Direct flight from Minneapolis, Chicago, etc., around thirteen hours to Narita. The only reason is convenience. One time, I had to be, from Saipan to the “Big Island”, as I had to be in Seattle on a specific date. The normal flight involved an overnight stay in Tokyo … so, that was out of the question. Saipan to Guam. Guam to Hawaii, Hawaii to Seattle. Eleven hour layover, in Hawaii … cost was the same, It got me there on time. Then, there’s the old “Island Hopper” route, of Micronesia Air (purchased by Continental … I have no idea what it is now) … that was a bitch.

IzlamDownpressesHumanity

No, not the moon … I couldn’t do that any more, but up until around 2000, on most international flights, there was always smoking in business class. I remember one time, on a JAL flight, I was the only smoker in business class. So, I had the entire upper area (upstairs) on a 747. My own flight attendant … it was a hoot. No Cristal, but seemingly an unending supply of Perrier Jouet. That was when the flight attendant taught me the trick of ordering a glass, around fifteen minutes before landing was announced. Rather than open a bottle, they ask if you just want to take it with you. She gave me two bottles of Perrier Jouet and a bottle of an excellent Pinot Noir, to help me along to my hotel.

French people are WEIRD in their politics. Having dealt with some French people I can tell you they are very strange people.

Take for instance Norman Bates…….

Once I heard Scheer mimic Trudeau in saying he too was a Feminist I knew my country was doomed.

Rigged polls! – Just like the Obozo rigged TruDope election. Poll taken in Lieberal infested areas!!! Willing to bet that very few western Canadians were polled!

Every time Trudeau glues on a new set of eyebrows his popularity goes up. Yes, there’s that many stupid people in Canada.

Let us not be delusional. Andrew Scheer will not change his strategy. Andrew Scheer doesn’t possess the instincts, the intestinal fortitude and plain old ‘guts’ to change his strategy. He’s just another all too typical gutless Canadian politician. Ontario’s Doug Ford or spirited Lisa McLeod would be a far better bet, but Scheer is nothing more than a shallow and empty windbag who couldn’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag.

I hope there’s money left from Trump’s border wall to build a wall around Canada.
