Liberals and open border types like to sell the idea that those crossing into America illegally are doing so simply to seek work to support their families at home and not — never, no, never — to take advantage of this country’s entitlement programs.
Yet: Nearly 600 pregnant women have been detained at the border in the last five months.
These women were caught red-handed trying to cross into this country and use their babies as anchors. And the problem’s been ongoing for some time. This, from 2015:

Close to 600 pregnant illegal alien women have been detained by United States Border Patrol and immigration officials in the last five months, newly released numbers reveal.
In a critical Buzzfeed News report of President Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy at the border, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials revealed that between December 2017 and April 2018 there have been about 590 pregnant illegal alien women booked into detainment after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
The staggering numbers are buried in a long-form report where pregnant illegal aliens allege abuse at the detention facilities by the Border Patrol and ICE agency.
As Breitbart News has reported, illegal aliens often cross the southern border in hopes of having U.S.-born children to anchor them permanently in the country. In one recent case, a couple with four anchor babies living in Boston, Massachusetts, said they feared being deported.
For this reason, the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens are often referred to as “anchor babies,” as they are able to eventually bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the U.S. through the process known as “chain migration.” Every two new immigrants to the U.S. brings an estimated seven foreign relatives with them.
As Breitbart News reported, the U.S. is nearly alone in granting citizenship to the children of illegal aliens. For example, the U.S. and Canada are the only two developed nations with birthright citizenship.
There are at least 4.5 million anchor babies in the U.S. under the age of 18, Breitbart News noted. This estimate does not include the potential millions of anchor babies who are older than 18-years-old, nor does it include the anchor babies who are living overseas with their deported foreign parents.
The 4.5 million anchor babies estimate exceeds the four million American children born every year. In the next decade, the CBO estimates that there will be at least another 600,000 anchor babies born in the U.S., which would put the anchor baby population on track to exceed annual American births—should the U.S. birth rate not increase—by more than one million anchor babies.
Trump has blasted the country’s anchor baby policy—which rewards the children of illegal aliens with U.S. citizenship so long as they are born within the country’s borders.
“If you have a baby on our land, congratulations. That baby is a United States citizen,” Trump said months ago in an interview. “We’re the only one. Now Mexico has very tough policies. They can do whatever they want, which is the way it should be. You’re violating something very sacred. You’re violating a border.”
The birthright citizenship debate was not always partisan, as it currently is, with establishment Republicans and Democrats supporting anchor babies.
Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) once opposed birthright citizenship, saying in 1993 that “no sane country” would reward illegal aliens with U.S. citizenship for their children.
Proponents of birthright citizenship often claim the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution requires the policy. The Supreme Court, however, has never explicitly ruled that the children of illegal aliens must be granted automatic citizenship and many legal scholars dispute the idea.
Every year, the U.S. admits more than 1.5 foreign nationals, with the vast majority deriving from family-based chain migration. In 2016, the legal and illegal immigrant population reached a record high of 44 million. By 2023, the Center for Immigration Studies estimates that the legal and illegal immigrant population of the U.S. will make up nearly 15 percent of the entire U.S. population.

China doing it by sending pregnant women to Saipan. They give birth and take baby back to China. Once an adult they come back to US and go to school or work as trained spy’s fir China. Yet Democrats refuse to change this anchor baby crap. Just like they refused to sign Kate’s law. Yet they show fake indignation regarding Trump and relationship with Putin.

I still hold two long-term land leases, on Saipan, and one on Rota. I realize that the CNMI has, especially Saipan, become overrun with Chinese (and we used to think Willy Tan was bad). However, CHC has reported that from January 2014 to October 2016, a total of 1,034 births of Chinese parents were recorded, Moreover, prior to a birth certificate being issued, the entire bill to CHC must be paid in full. That’s barely the equivalent of mezskins and Central Americans … they come in .. the US taxpayer pays their medical bills … and 4.5 million is significantly higher than slightly over one thousand,

The only way I can think of to address this issue – of “anchor babies” together with the tedious litigation surrounding them is to look hard at the legal framework behind the problem before changing it. I know DT is aware of this.
We have the same problem in UK, the guy who’s been cutting my hair these last 47 years lost his brother to an early death, the woman the brother livid with is a Negress from Zimbabwe and mother to his child, they were not married and she overstayed her visa so she’s now an illegal migrant by several years, my barber as the executor of the will is having trouble evicting her from the family house she lived in with his brother he now owns. The “law” steps in and things get messy PDQ. We’re all aware of the tendency of American lawyers to play the system over the pond.
These so called “economic migrants” need turning around and sending back to clear up the frightful political and environmental mess they walked out on when they left home. Their countries were blessed with everything required to sustain life and progress but it needed them all to display the energy and self belief the first Israelis showed THEY had in 1948 when they took on a barren Palestine.
When you look at the mess these places are in central or South America you understand that all people are not quite the same and if you let some of them into your society you risk them repeating their mistakes on your turf and at your expense. An educated productive person with capital is another matter, but aren’t they the very ones needed back home too ?

The Latinos have been gaming the system for years. My father used to go to a laundromat and talk to the illegals why he did a towel wash. Many of the illegals had little kids and were pregnant. They woukd point to their belly and say in English anchor baby. They knew the game that having a baby woukd keep them in US plus entitle child to benefits. ONLY IN AMERICA WITH DEMOCRATS can the American people be suckered into paying more taxes and putt8mg up with this crap. The same way we have to pay for their healthcare etc.

I can tell you one better than that…my grandfather was border patrol in Texas back when Pancho Villa was running the border…..
He said Mexican women would slip over the border, have their kid here….believing that gave her and her child rights to be here….
Back then and into the 1950s….they would pick the woman and her kid up and put them back across the border…..when the kid turned 18 they could apply to come to America….but still have to go through all the hoops learning english and American history…. like anyone else applying…..if they had a criminal record they couldn’t come in at all……
Somewhere, in the back of Judges’ offices…..some petty perfunctory clerk…somewhere in the state government….little Libtards were slowly, but surely changing wording of everything and destroying the originals…..and now we have “open” borders and no one gets since back….

SCOTUS has affirmed that the President is the one who sets immigration issues….it’s his power…..unfortunately his RINO Senate and Congress does not support him in anything he does because they get payola from Soros and others to not assist his agenda…..
This makes MIDTERMS more critical now than ever before….unless we replace RINOs…and any Dimm we can President Trump will be hampered by what he tries to do…..

Please remember that these are only the ones who were CAUGHT. Who knows how many crossers are not apprehended?
I lived in Tucson in the 90s and l believe it was reported that we only stopped about a third of illegal crossings. The pregnant women would walk across the border into towns like Douglas and Nogales while in labor, overwhelming local small hospitals. It seems it has only worsened over the years.
Paul Babeu, former sheriff of Pinal County would be a trove of information.
Living in a border state gives us a better understanding of the illegal alien, foreign national, invasion. It is a shame that Senators McCain and Flake are not serving the citizens of Arizona, as they would promise (only during election cycles).

Why can’t the law say that if the mother has not entered legally…then any children she has on our soil is also illegal and not given American citizenship until they go back across the border until they apply legally after age 18, can prove they were born here….and follows the same route others did who applied here legally?
