Slovakia Declares It Will Move Its Embassy to Jerusalem

The head of the Slovak National Council, Andrej Danko, told Israel President Reuven Rivlin that Slovakia is poised to move its embassy to Jerusalem.

These are the doors President Donald Trump opened. First, America moved the embassy; in April, Czech President Milos Zeman said his country would open a consulate in the city; in May, Guatemala moved its embassy to Jerusalem; in May, Paraguay announced its intent to do the same.

What’s especially note-worthy about the Slovak announcement is that it goes against European Union policy on Jerusalem.

From the Algemeiner:

“Slovakia is on its way to relocating its embassy to Jerusalem,” Head of the Slovak National Council Andrej Danko told Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the visiting delegation of Slovak lawmakers announced the Eastern European country would open a cultural center in the Israeli capital.

The move, when it materializes, would mark a break from European Union policy on Jerusalem. Slovakia would join the Czech Republic and Bulgaria as the other European Union member states to expand their diplomatic presence in the city since US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The visiting lawmakers did not give a timeframe for when the new cultural center would be opened.

The decision, made by Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, came after Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein called on Bratislava’s government to follow the Czech Republic in opening an honorary consulate in the city.

Edelstein thanked the Slovaks, saying, “This is a tremendous diplomatic achievement for Israel and a pleasant surprise for all of us. I am certain that when additional delegations arrive here they will understand Jerusalem is Israel’s eternal capital.”

In April Czech President Milos Zeman said his country would open a consulate and cultural center in Jerusalem. Zeman reiterated his intention to eventually transfer the Czech Embassy from Tel Aviv to the capital.

In May the Czech Republic reopened its honorary consulate in Jerusalem, after it had been shuttered since 2016 following the death of the previous honorary consul. With that the Czech Republic only recognized the western part of the city as Israel’s capital, along with the United States, Guatemala and Paraguay.

The US in May became the first country to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, following President Donald Trump’s Dec. 6 recognition of the city as Israel’s capital. The move was met with anger by Palestinians who claim east Jerusalem as the capital of their future state.

One Leader with guts (Trump) inspires others sitting on the fence to jump in !

It took Israelis to expose truth about Palestinian fakery and Lies and boy was Trump furious when he realised how he had been conned http://bit.ly/2rOmfyJ

Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and other former Eastern Bloc nations’ histories are one of subjugation under Communism and Nazism. These nations unlike others within or outside the EU hold the determination that their hard-earned Democracies are not going the way of the EU overlords. The embassy move to Jerusalem is also a message to the EU, we are a democracy, not subjects of the EU’s autocracy and despotism. Any nation thumbing its democratic nose at the European tyrants is heroic. Bravo, Slovakia!

The EU is dominated by Germany which is still trying to kill every Jew in the world but especially in their own borders. That is why they are importing muslims, to do the killing for them.

It’s all politics.
Slovaks have huge part of its people plagued by deep rooted prejudice against Jews.

What this politician did is wonderful, but surely doesn’t represent sentiment of all the people.
He is actually not very favorable among them either.

Good on them another country re claims it’s heritage and Freedom. We must stay together as a pack for the better of life through strength or die individually on our knees! Congratulations Slovakia! course you know there will be some negative dialog regarding Israel controlling the situation when in truth no one wants to be invaded by marauders that would murder your innocent while eating from your table…
